I had 4 injections in my trap muscles of my upper back and then 5 injections a week later (traps and neck area). They worked like a charm to stop the neck and upper back pain. The only side effects I have had are difficulty sleeping and a red hot, flushed face and chest. It has been 4 days since the last injections and my face is still red hot like I have a terrible sunburn. The heat in my face is tremendous, on fire even, but I will trade this for no pain any day!

I've been taking levaquin for a sinus infection and had a sudden onset of joint pain - especially in my hands and hips. Also had bad upper back pain. And I never had any of these problems, except mild arthritis in my hands that only hurts once every couple of month. It's horrible - feel like I'm 100 years old - and I'm 54 and very active. So glad I found this web site to see that the medicine may be the cause of my problem -hadn't considered that until I read your comments here.

On October 18, 2007 I started taking Symbicort. It worked GREAT!! As far as breathing better. About a week later I noticed upper back pain, dizziness, and nausea. I continued to take this inhaler. Then on November 5, 2007 I was rushed to the emergency room with a collapsed lung. (Spontaneous Pneumothorax) Still even after surgery I continued to use this inhaler until June 2008. When I finally thought may be it was this inhaler. I don't know to this day. I still feel strange from time to time. At the time of surgery I was only 35 years old.

I have only taken 3 - 100mg doses and that's enough for me. The doctor prescribed it for a sinus and bronchial infection. I thought I was just getting much sicker but now know it is the doxy after reading the posts. I have serious nausea, headache, heartburn, feeling like something is stuck in my throat, upper back pain and all day I felt like I couldn't keep my eyes open. I didn't feel half this bad when I went to the doctor. I will call her tomorrow and ask for something else. I have never had a reaction to any antibiotic other than an occasional yeast infection. Thanks for all your posts!

As I read all of these postings, I see I'm not alone in my side effects while taking lamictal. I started out on a very low dose (12.5 mg) and doubled this amount each week. It took a while to get to my current dosage of 150 mg per night. I've been experiencing mental confusion, more panic attacks and it's very hard to wake up in the morning. I've been more frequently tired and dizzy during the daytime. Also, at night, my dreams have been extremely vivid. Many have been nightmares leaving me in a state of severe confusion as I try to awake in the morning. Recently, I started having upper back pain that I've never experienced before.
I thought this drug was supposed to be safe with very little side effects (except the potential RASH). I think my life was better before lamictal. Or, do I need to give it some time to work???? Help Please

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I thought I was totally crazy and something seriously wrong with me: Absolutely No Sex Drive, Horrible acne all over my face (really bad under the skin huge ones) and on my chest, neck and back, back depressions and mood swings, bloating, upper back pain, and weight gain! I am an active person and have been on dance teams for years now and I have never gained weight the way I do now. I have also always had energy to do everything! And I don't have any to even get up off the couch right now! :( I thought that my upper back pain was just from everyday/coaching stress but my massage therapist says that the tenseness in my back is unlike anything she's ever seen! I feel like my stomach is going to explode after I've eaten the smalls meal and then my digestive system doesn't work like it used to before my IUD. I've become a completely different person than before I got my IUD! I am going to call my doctor today and make an appointment to go talk about options. I REALLY LOVE NOT having a period and not having to worry about taking a pill or using a condom. My husband likes that aspect too so we will see what the doctor has to say and if they have any advise or suggestions on what to do. I will keep you all posted!!!!

It must be the HCTZ... I was on Lisinopril 20mg for a month with little avail to my bp. I'm 25 and prior to taking it I was at 150/120: during I was bouncing between that and 130/90ish. A Walk-In clinic doctor started me on Lisinopril/HCTZ 20/12.5 and within the week, I had major upper back pain, trouble seeing and severe nausea. I have since gone to half a pill and feel much better. I hadn't heard of any of these side effects. Please let me know if anyone has similar experiences. My Mother thinks I dealt with a bout of the flu, my sister thinks I'm pregnant. Hmph.

*UPDATE* Two pregnancy tests and one week later and still not feeling all that much better. I'm still on half a pill and still getting nausea.

I have been having upper back pain since I started this medication. In addition it has aggravated a shoulder problem that has bothered me intermittently for years. I am a 47 year old active male. I exercise 3 to 4 times per week and lift weights. I have had lower back pain in the past but never upper like this. since my activities have not changed with the onset of this pain I attribute it to the medication. It started after I started this medication.

Cholesterol was up to 260 so doctor prescribed zocor 20mg to lower it.
I have been on this for six weeks and head back for a recheck next Tuesday. I am hoping it is low again so I can get off this drug.

I am trying to get off Zyrtec after having taken it for the last four months. I am having a hard time doing so. I've taken Zyrtec every spring for about 10 years. Every time I go off of it I develop terrible insomnia. It takes about three months to get over the insomnia. BUT this time around, I have developed a terrible itching. The itching goes away if I take one-half of a Zyrtec pill. It comes back if I don't take another pill within 24 hours. Come to think of it, I have developed this itching before when I went off Zyrtec and used hydrocortisone cream to stop it, but I never before contributed the itching to the Zyrtec. It is definitely some type of withdrawal symptom.
Also, my husband has noticed that I get terribly moody, depressed, cry a lot, and become critical of everyone when I am on Zyrtec -- and go back to my normal self when I am off of it.
AND I have begun to notice that my appetite goes wild while on Zyrtec. When I go off Zyrtec, my appetite goes back to normal. I have gained almost 50 lbs since I was introduced to Zyrtec.
I would like to say that I will never take it again, but it is the only antihistamine that completely controls my springtime allergic asthma. I need to be able to breathe.

I started taking diovan about three months ago. First, I had upper back pain, then started gaining weight-I wake up in the night with my stomach growling(but I don't eat), and still the weight is going up. Have shooting pains in my arms. Whenever I put my arms in the air, they ache. Also while walking, my feet started to hurt. I don't feel like doing anything, and that is not the way I was before diovan.

Thanks so much for your advise on how to deal with the side effects of DOXY. I still have about 9 days to go for this drug and I really feel like want to stop it right now. The pill results my stomach bloating (which is why I was on this antibiotics at the first place) and fullness of my stomach, I was on and Somac at the same time, just finished Metrogyl treatment yesterday and still have about a month for Somac. I normally takes Doxy at least 3-5 hours before i sleep to prevent the upset stomach however it still affects my sleep, always wakes up very early in the morning, couldn't sleep well and feels like need to breath harder. I would like to take it in the morning but I can't because my first dose was at around evening and I can't miss that evening dose and take it the next morning instead. 9 days to go and now I am worrying about the continuous of side effects or causes other problem(upper back pain & reflux which I am experiencing now) after the treatment finished. Hopefully I m just worrying too much. God bless.

I have only been taking Levoxyl for about two weeks, following RAI treatment in May. I'm on 100 mcg. I had gone from being hyperthyroid to hypothyroid - with walking or much movement, it felt like the muscles in my back were being stretched from each side and held up to a sunlamp to the burning point. I was also having upper back pain and a stiff neck.
After a little over a week of taking Levoxyl, the stiff neck is still there, but the back pain has eased off a little. There is just one spot that feels like a sunburn from the inside out. The biggest problem I'm having is with the sodium content - it feels like I've eaten an entire shaker of salt. I suspect that my blood pressure is increasing on this med. I'm noticing restless leg syndrome and while I always have tinnitus, it has worsened in the past week. I'm also noticing fluid retention all over, puffy eyes, puffy fingers, and calves. I'm also having more headaches.
On the plus side, the unbearable muscle pain has eased up some, as I mentioned. I'm less depressed. It's too soon to tell about weight but I think I've stopped gaining for the moment.

hiya silke

thankyou for your comforting advice.
i still feel panicky today but not as bad as last night.
my periods have nearly finished so i guess i should be feeling better soon. " i hope so".

i seem to feel more panicky in the evenings and also i have really bad upper back pain which goes towards the back of my neck and head, also shooting pain in my head. i really hate it. it scares me so much which provokes the panicky feeling i have.

right now i am feeling so heavy in the upper part of my body. i just hope i make it through the night without having a panick attack. my ears and nose go all cold and i can feel myself going out of control. sso so horrible.

i wiil try to be strong and take a day as it comes.
i just hope the day comes when i wake up and i feel normal again.

i feel so weak like my body is drained and tired and i just want to sleep. i used to go to the gym but i feel to weak to do that now.

the other day i went shopping and as i got into the shopping centre i was walking towards the shop i needed to go to when i suddenly felt my head feel really funny, i thought to myself should i run back to the car so i could quickly get home or should i or would i be able to make it to the shop without collapsing.
i took deep breaths and eventually made it to the shop and back home. this really scared me though.

i will try not to let what happened above take me over though as i am a very outgoing person but it is really scary especially when your on your own.

thanks again silke and i hope that one day i too will be helping and comforting people on this forum just like you have done so for me.

BIG HUGS BACK TO TOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKYOU
SOPHIExxxx

hi there!!

i have been on yasmin for about a year now.
i took my last pill on the 17th april 2006 and am now on my periods.
i have decided to stop taking it because i have had the following symptoms;-
- nausea
- no sex drive
- mood swings
- numbness and tingling in the body
- severe anxiety
- depressive thoughts
- lack of interest in everything
- pain in the upper back leading to the back of neck and head
- ears and nose get really cold
- feeling like im going mad
- scared of something but dont know what
- severe migraines
- PANICK ATTACKS
- alternating diarhea and constipation
- stomach pains

i was ok on it at first had abit of NAUSEA but i thought it was worth putting up with it if it got rid of my acne (as i have polysistic ovaries) and it did.

the last couple of months have been hell i have suffered from severe panick attacks and migraines everyday i have been so so scared.

i have had bad upper back pain which goes to the back of my head and neck and effects my eyes, they hurt sooooo bad, DOES ANYONE ELSE SUFFER FROM THIS SYMPTOM PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

i have stopped taking yasmin its my 6th day of it and i feel better but not properly

IS IT YASMIN CAUSING THESE PROBLEMS?

IF SO, HOW LONG BEFORE I FEEL NORMAL AGAIN?

PLEASE HELP ANYBODY I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SCARED IM GOIN CRAZY!!!

THANKS

SOPHIE
