I took Advair for almost 4 years. I did not take it regularly (as regularly as they prescribed), but took it reasonably regularly.
I think Advair is the worst drug! It wrecked my teeth! I had perfect (no cavities) until I started taking Advair, which is when I started getting cavities. My teeth will never be the same.
The worst part though, was that after about 2 years of use, I got a horrible case of pleurisy. I had it for 8 months. I went to dr. after dr. No one would listen. I finally got one to do a lung x-ray--within which I had scaring throughout my chest/bronchial tubes. My asthma was getting horrible, and I was literally at 75% oxygen intake (yah--my asthma dr. later told me I should have been in the hospital). I finally looked up and researched Advair--and found out that one of it's side effects was lung infections. By the time I found this out, I basically had a lung infection for 2 years. I fought with my asthma dr.--to get off of Advair. Put me on Flovent instead, which has been fine. I was off and on Prednisone for more than a year throughout all this time. Once off of Advair, the dr. put me on a regular dose of Prednisone (probably gained 15-25 pounds during that time), and an anti-biotic, once I finally won that battle. I FINALLY got better after about a month of treatment! But, ever since then I cannot get a cold/upper respiratory infection without having to go on prednisone in order to stop the cough. Plus, I then got my gall bladder out, and I now get major pain in that area when I get a cough.
I flat out refuse to EVER take Advair again. Nothing is worth going through anything like that again! It was miserable! I'm sure I had some other symptoms, such as stomach pains, headaches, depression, anxiety, etc., but seriously, I was just trying to breathe for so long, that none of the other stuff caused me as much worry!

As of 3/31/07, I just started to take levaquin. After reading these horrible stories, I'm very concerned for myself. I was on Ketex at three different times this winter. Now I don't know what to do and I'm very scared. Dr. put me on singular and after a few days, I had pressure in the sinses, headache, and upper respiratory problems, for which the Dr. prescribed levaquin. When I read the side effects of singualr (and feeling find before I took it), can alll of these problems be due t the singulair? The Dr. on call who prescribed the levaquin - I asked him if my side effects are due to the singulair? He said most likely not. Now what in the world do I do?

I am experiencing 75% of all of the "less frequently" reported symptoms including in ability to sleep, agitation, diarhea, muscle pain, restlessness, palpitations, upper respiratory problems, major joint pain. I'm terriefied that I have a few of the report to your doctor right away symptoms which include a flu like illness ( I couldn't figure out why it felt like I kept coming down with the flu for six weeks) swelling of my sinuses and pins and needles in my feet and numbness in my arms. I will never, ever take this drug again! It's 1:20 AM and I feel like I should go to the ER after realizing that what I'm feeling is due to singulair, but I'm trying to hold off and just see my doctor in the morning.

I've been using Advair for 3 months, after a week or so major headaches and insomnia started. After one month I had constant upper respiratory problems, rhinitis, post nasal drip, then I got really sick supposedly from a common virus doctors insisted had nothing to do with Advair, I was in bed for 2 weeks, had a 104 fever for 4 days, major ear infection, muscle pains that made me feel like I was being beaten, stomach pains that come in waves and still persist on and off with no apparant cause, I am very itchy, my face is patchy and very dry, my ankles and feet often get very sore, this is all very unusual for me. Normal tasks make my feet feel like I've run a marathon. I've now stopped the Advair as of today after having gone yet again to the doctor with a sinus infection and my ear is hurting again! I'm sick of being sick! My back and breasts seem swollen and very tender. Doctors insist it can be something else but never the advair. I am going back to my turbo inhalers and herbal teas. I now have to take Mometasone furoate monohydrate (Nasonex) to help my nose and ears drain. I have been experiencing some blurred vision and almost every side effect listed on this web site. I do find "Respirease" herbal liquid formula helps but it gets a little expensive, I think its better than poisoning myself with Advair!

Has anyone had the experience of previously taking Levaquin without side effects, then when taking it again, developed severe headaches, joint aches, muscle pain and weakness, etc? I am currently going through this. I've taken Levaquin before probably 2 or 3 times due to upper respiratory problems and not noticed any side effect but this time, I've taken 5 days worth, 3 in hospital 2 as outpatient dose and can hardly move. I had the same experience in 2004 with zithromax. Had taken it without side effects, then suddenly when taking it again developed such bad chest pain, I thought as did my doctor, that I was having heart attack and spent a week in hospital before figuring that one out.
