I am 33 years old and after a blood test about 6 months ago showed my cholesterol levels high my doctor prescribed me 40MG Zocor (actually generic Simvastatin). Since then I've started to forget things and just cognitively I'm slower and less capable. I also had more aches and pains and a weird creak in my knee showed up, but I really didn't key in on that stuff. I went back to my doctor and told him about the cognitive issues and he said "that shouldn't be a side effect of this drug".Well I am very glad I found this website because at least now I know I am not crazy. I stopped taking that garbage about 4 weeks ago and ever since that fog has been lifting.
I have also made a new commitment to myself to include more "heart healthy" foods into my diet and to completely eliminate all red meats as well. I realize there may be some validity to the studies done remarking that high cholesterol is an indication of something bad, but I am not convinced the medical community actually has a comprehensive understanding of cholesterol in the body. I will still go into the doctor to get my levels checked, but I will probably not go back to my old doctor. I'll probably find a doctor who is a little more open to other options. I hate to say it, but I have lost my confidence in my doctor. If I tried to pull something like that in my job as a computer network engineer my customers would simply say "it wasn't like this before you started". Jedi mind trick doesn't work buddy. My body wasn't like this before you gave me that stuff.

I am a 35 yo male who has had asthma since I was about six years old. I have always used Albuterol/Proventil to deal with any immediate concerns. Additionally, I have used the combination of Pulmicort/Serevent as a long term medication. I felt like the initial effects of that combo were spectacular. At some point, though, the doctor moved me off of that combo to Advair, explaining to me that the latter was just a combination of Pulmicort and Serevent. To this day I don't know the validity of that.

I have used Advair off and on for several years and I've never felt like I've gotten the same results as the previously mentioned combo. In the last two or three years I feel like it's done nothing. Additionally, in the last two to two and a half years, I've developed a low-level wheeze that is with me all the time 24/7. My albuterol does nothing for it. And -- it feels like I have a lump or something in the back of my throat. Some kind of constant obstruction.

The current theory of my ENT (my asthma doctor is worthless on this matter) is that I may have acid reflux. So now I am taking Prilosec OTC to see if, after a month or so, the low-level wheeze disappears.

Has anyone else with a history of asthma developed a constant, low-level wheeze that is unaffected by short term inhalers?

I was on Levaquin in February of 06. Although it helped the sinus infection, the price has been great. I had severe burning and tingling in my lips. Lower lip still numb after 20 months. Soreness and weakness in fingers--sprained two fingers while doing routine things. Stabbing pains in soles of feet, decreased over 4 months. Excruciatingly sore Achilles tendon, especially sore to the touch. Large muscle twitches in arms and legs. Decreased over several months. Ear ringing began--still have it. Dramatic increase in floaters in eyes also during the course of the drugs--still have them. Serious back problems began then also, with 4 herniated discs being diagnosed 5 months later. I have read that connective tissue damage may result from Levaquin. I feel that everthing that stated then is related: back, ears, eyes, numb lips, hands, etc. I checked with my doctors office, told them the symptoms, and I was instructed to keep taking the drug if I wanted to get well. But I only spoke with a nurse. . .shame on me. Good luck to all of you.

Hello,
I am a 37 yr old male and have been on Lisinopril 20/25 for about 6 months now. I was asked to switch because the medication I was on before was not approved by my insurance carrier and this medicine is one tenth the cost.
I have never really put all of this together until I found this site. I have become increasingly confused and find normal tasks more difficult. I have always struggled with slight depression and anxiety but it has become much worse. (One of the side effects I knew nothing about before this site.) I constantly have the feeling I am going to dye or that something terrible is going to happen to me or my family.
My wife asked me yesterday if I felt that I was more confused lately and she said I was not acting myself for the last few months. Now I may know the validity of that question.
My other bothersome side affects are the feeling of a lump in my throat that I can not cough out; irregular heart beat and occasional high BP with pounding heart beat; Numbness in one or both hands; Mood swings and loss of patience.
I have just attributed these symptoms to getting older but now I know I am not going crazy!!!! Thank God for this site.
Good luck to everyone else...

Have a URI that has hung on for 2 weeks. Felt really bad and started a 10 day 500mg 1 pill a day Levaquin schedule. 2nd day had pain in my left arm, but NOTHING compared to the misery I was in with the URI. My arm pain has since gone (only a few hours), and I am on my 4th day and to be honest I feel the best I have felt for a long time. Not trying to say there is no validity to what the forum is saying because there is, however I'm sure that there are many that have had good experiences that just have not taken the time to post. Hence my post. Hope this makes it past the approval process.
