Hi everyone ~ I am so glad I have found all of you. I have an appt today to have the Mirena placed. I highly considering canceling the appt now. I have read probably 98% bad and only 2% good. can anyone help me decide what I should do? I was having it placed for my heavy, painful menses, the birth control is/was a bonus feature. really? I shouldn't do this eh? someone please respond.

My doctor prescribed Avelox 400 mg tablets to treat pneumonia. I was warned by the pharmacist not to take it with my morning vitamins, so I took it 1/2 hour before bed time - needless to say I hardly slept. I started itching all over, my arms started tingling, my heart was racing a hundred miles an hour. Believe it or not I took another one the next night, and yep it happened again, I thought I was dying. My blood pressure dropped to 99/78 and my pulse was 50 - my normal vitals are 120/60, and pulse is 95. It seemed that within minutes my pulse jumped to 115 and my pressure was 138/90. I guess that is what an anxiety attach feels like. Then to top it all off, it felt like someone was pouring water in my veins, this feeling of rushing water ran from my fingers up my arms in into my shoulders then my heart would jump again; I had weakness is my legs and felt nausea the entire next day. I contacted my doctor with no return call, so I discontinued the medication. I do not believe the benefits of this medication out weigh the side effects. I will not ever take this medicine again. I will pray for healing for all of you, God bless and keep smiling.

I have been taking lisinopril for almost a year and it has decreased my sex drive. It has also decreased my blood pressure which is more important. My wife would prefer me to be healthy and doing it less often than dying on top of her. The only recent major problem I have had is dizziness and vomiting. I took it a few days ago and found myself sweating and dizzy. I tried to eat something and vomited it up in a mnute or so. I think changing my diet and exercising is more important than taking snake venom to open my veins. I am going to get off this stuff and try to eat right and exercise. I am a Black male 6'2" and about 265lbs. At 44 I should not be feeling dizzy all the time. Before this drug I took barley pills which made me dizzy as well. The nausea and dizziness are terrible and I think I will come off this stuff permanently after seeing my doctor. I do get nervous when I go to the doctor but I also know that I eat too much and at the wrong time and I need to exercise more. Worrying about the economy isn't helping either.

I am not sure if it is the change from Ortho Tricylin lo to this one but after being on sprintec i felt like i was pregnant after the third week. I did get my period the first month on it but it was different. It lasted for only 3 days and I had spotted a few days prior to it. I have been extremely tired, like as if i am pregnant and I go to the bathroom just about every hour, which is not normal. I am nauseated all day long and feel a sense of nervousness throughout the day. I also get dizzy spells and have a higher level of appetite. My period is suppose to be here in 2 weeks, if it is not then I can only think that i am pregnant, but if it does come down i am switching back to the Ortho....this is really bad that a pill can make you feel like you are pregnant as i have heard some of the ladies on the site say so, when you are on a pill to avoid getting pregnant.

I was put on the NuvaRing by my OBGYN to fix endometriosis... that was 5 1/2 years ago... I'm now 26 and I have been having dizzy spells for a while... actually passed out twice while living in New York for the past 4 years... not fun when you're on the Subway! Recently - the back of my legs started hurting! Then my calves swelled up! All these new veins appeared and I rushed to my general physician! The first thing out of her mouth was are you on birth control... GET OFF! When i told her it was NuvaRing - she was 99% sure it was it! I had an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't blood clots and it's not... so I went to nuvaring website and one of their symptoms is pain in back of knees and swelling! RIDICULOUS!!!! I took it out immediately! Even the 32 year old who did my ultrasounds said she voluntarily got off all BC because of everyone she has come in there with liver, blood, heart problems!

I recently delivered a healthy baby girl (Feb 9th) in which 1 week later I developed a blood clot on my brain and was hospitalized for 1 week after experiencing 4 seizures. They told me it was pregnancy related and I would be on warfarin for 6-9 months until the clot dissolved. I too am experiencing: fatigue, extreme dizziness, light headedness, I am seeing spots all of the time, I am getting leg cramps and foot cramps a lot, I feel really weak, and just plain old. I will be 37 years old this July, and I feel way too young to be feeling this way all of the time. I can not handle going to the lab 2-3 times every week for blood work, my veins are collapsing and bruising really bad. I cry every time I leave, my husband must think I'm such a loser. It has been almost 3 months now and I just got my first period since my daughter was born. I thought I was going to bleed to death. My husband had to watch me around the clock to make sure I didn't have to be rushed into emergency. This sucks....I'm trying to remain strong, and doing lots of praying these days....Thanks for letting me share my story.....

I have been on the med for 4 yrs now (I think). 300 mg/day. At times, especially during the winter I get cold hands & feet where they become numb (& tingly from med. I assume). Fingers may turn white. I have thin skin in those areas (can see veins, redness). I wear double layers of clothes during winter/some spring & I live in Missouri (during the day, sleep). Still have tingling some in toes & fingers, ringing in the ears, memory & word loss, little stuttering/thought process before speaking, dry mouth. Fatigue - but I am a busy person. Stomach issues - constipation (but I also don't eat very well). Anxiety - Welbution generic the whole time I have been on this. Weight loss has been nice. After reading a lot of your comments I am wondering if it is time to get off of the medicine & see how I feel

I am astonished by the posts I am reading here. I just learned about the manufacturing problems with Metoprolol Succinate ER last night, and the recall. I called my pharmacist this morning, and she said she knew nothing about a recall, only that it was no longer available.

When I see what you all have been going through, coupled with what's been happening to me, I can't understand why my doctor has not changed my medication.

I just got out of the hospital two weeks ago from blood clots in my legs. Thank goodness they have not moved to my heart, brain or lungs! Now, I'm on Coumadin for six months.

I have had blood clots, cramping in both my legs and feet, eye problems, loss of balance and vertigo (dizziness) so bad I fell to the ground. Fortunately, I was in my garden and the ground was soft.

I've been complaining to my doctor for quite some time now about the dizziness, and am now afraid to go out and work in the yard unless someone is with me.

Thank you for posting your information. It has been an eye-opener.

omg, im 32 years old been on zocor for 3 months now and am experiencing dizziness and disassociation with myself. I know now that it is from the drug. It seems like i want to sleep all the time. I was pretty convinced it was from stress but i have been in war in Iraq and under stress-post war depression and its nothing like statin side effects!! I went on statins because of a genetic disorder that runs in my family, the cause, well high cholesterol. Now my levels are fine but i feel like im a zombie most days? i know in the long run its healthier for my heart and veins to have low levels but at what extent? i think im going to go off for a few weeks and then back on it.

I stumbled on this site while doing research on DVT's. I am a nurse and was on YAZ continuously (skipping the inactive pills and going straight to a new pack) to control my migraines for about a year. I developed 3 DVT's in my left calf and behind my left knee. I have been having charlie horse cramps as well. I am now on lovenox injections 2 times a day and 7.5 mg. of coumadin to deal with the clots.I have also had the issues with heart palpitations, chest tightness, and feeling like i can't catch my breath. I read in one of the posts where it was described as she "had to think to catch her breath". I totally agree! I thought this drug was great, until now. I stopped it last wed 1/7/09 when they found the clots in my calf/knee. Can anyone with experience tell me how long it took them to recover from the palpitations and breathing issues. I am a very health person, non smoker, with no prior or family history of any clotting issues. Thanks for all the info on here and God Bless everyone who has suffered!

I began having right hip pain a month after the mirena was inserted. I assumed it was from running. All the doctors I have seen for the past year stated I strained a muscle. They ordered MRI's and physical therapy. I have completed all, but still have the same hip pain-over a year now. Has anyone had hip pain due to the mirena? And did your hip pain stop completely after your mirena was removed? I am considering getting it removed. Although the doctors tell me they are not connected, I can't help but think there is a coincidence.

I'm 20 years old, a wife and a mother to a beautiful 1 1/2 old baby boy. I've been on the NR for 4 days now, before that I was on the Depo-Shot for 1 1/2 yrs. I choose to get on the Depo b/c i got pregnant with my son while I was on the pills. So far I've been experiencing REALLY bad breast tenderness, and Swollen nipples along with BAD veins going around my nipples...and I have MORE discharge coming out of my nipples( Even before I got on the NR i had some discharge and milk that never dried up from having my son ) Is this normal???? My chest hurts soooo damn bad that i have to hold my chest and keep my arms from brushing against them. I could understand getting side effects later, but not this soon....maybe I'm just crazy, but this really hurts, and the veins aren't very attractive. Not to mention, I have really bad nausea. If anyone could please reply to me, and let me know if this is normal or not, I would really appreciate it a lot.

Interesting earlier post about hearing pulse in ear.
I heard my blood squirting through my veins in/around my ear yesterday.
Didn't start prednisone until today. Figure that one out?

Doctor prescribed Lisinopril along with Metformin about a year ago , he told me the lisinopril will help protect my kidneys from the diabetes along with reducing my high blood pressure. I started with cramping and shaking which left me bed ridden for days! I blamed the metformin, thinking it was reducing my bodys sugar level. In this time I started having these pulsating, center of chest, waves of severe hot pain, I went to his office and he put me on an EKG machiene. Everything was fine. I have these bouts every so often, along with lip numbness and severe pain that feels like my right arm is caving in with muscle spasms, my veins stick out in the effected arm along with a numb cold feeling!(goose bumps too?). My physician told me it may be GERD.He put me on protonics which helped for a while, but it is back! I also get edgy, have trouble staying asleep and walk around like a zombie in a fog all day long. I started getting strobe light migraines without the pain recently, wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms from Lisinopril? By the way my blood sugar is in control. Also on allopurinol with no problems.

I was on Yasmin for almost a year, and then on Yaz, and I've never felt so crazy in my life. The mood swings were so bad that it was like I was bipolar and became a different person. Worst part is that I couldn't realize it until I was out of the "bout" of anger, depression, and even paranoia. I have had emotional side effects with birth control before, and these were some of the worst. I just really wish there was a non-chemical birth control that didn't involve plastic, latex, or stingy spermicides! I know many women who cannot take hormonal birth controls, and we all complain that our sex life is not as good, and even causes big problems for some. Does anyone have any suggestions?

i've been taking winstrol for 2 and half years taking 200 mg every other day injecting in the veins of my boner after screwing my wife j. after injecting my dilly dink grows to 16 inches and i punch my new born girl in the jugular and stone cold stunner my wife. my ejaculation fill up a 5 gallon bucket after beating it to aztec boys. my ass crack smells like bologna but that might have always been like that but i'm pretty sure the crusty brown spots were never there. anger has become a very big problem, i come home and instantly beat my family with a 2 by 4 and smash there faces off the dinner table when we eat. i've gained 240 pounds of solid muscle and my penis has shrunk so much that it goes inside my body like a vagina. but besides that i highly recommend to anyone from ages 6-9.. i started at 5 i was an early bloomer. thanks w.

I am a 47 year old female that has had asthma all of my life. I was wanting to stop taking Advair and looked up this website, boy am I glad I did. I have all of these side effects. I have been taking Advair 500/50 twice daily for 7 yrs. I have all of the side affects and more. I have experienced hair lose, depression ( I also take Wellburtin XL) since I have started the Advair, I have pain in my legs that make me feel older than I am. I have gain 40 lbs in the past 7 yrs. I now wear reading glasses because my vision is blurry. People always say my face looks rounder. I hate the drug. My doctor said the none of the side effects are caused for the Advair. As of yesterday I stopped taking the Advair. I have cut down my does slowly for the past 2 months. Can someone who has stopped the Adavir tell me what to expect now that I have stopped. Advair is a crazy drug and I refuse to keep taking it.

I just removed my NR on yesterday after trying it for 2 months. It raised my blood pressure so high till before I noticed that it was the NR causing it, my doctor gave me blood pressure medicine. My blood pressure was 120/70 before trying it which is perfect for my age and weight. But now it has fluctuated and even raised to the highest pressure of 180/108. Anyone who uses this should definitely keep a watch on their pressure as it is a written side effect as well. My boyfriend can also feel it. They tell you that your partner can't feel it but they can. Therefore, I have to schedule my blackberry to remind me of the pills again. Also, I would get headaches that were so bad you can feel the blood trying to pump in my veins in my head. That's dangerous and can cause stuff like aneurysms. It's not for everyone!

Coming off of Yaz, about 3 days after my "near stroke". Started my period, of course, Only 2 days after stopping. My blood is like SLUDGE. It is very dark and so thick. It makes me sick to think this has been in my system like this, and i have been trying to function normal, and active. And my blood doesn't "flow" through my veins. And hearing some really scary stories of women who, weren't as lucky as me, taking birth control pills.

Last week I had an issue with my INR - it has always been unstable, but this time was weird. My INR had been 6 and so I stopped the warfarin for 4 days, and went back on my regular 2 mg dose. Then we went on holiday to Washington DC for a week. 3 days in, my pee was the colour of cherry kool aid. Went to the local hospital (thank god for travel insurance). My INR was 7.89 - In the US this is considered critical and I was admitted, and treated with Vitamin K and 2 units of plasma. Within 8 hours my INR had dropped to 1.8 - now too low. The next day down to 1.25, and a week later I am still 1. I am taking fragmin now until I can get my INR theraputic again but Fragmin shots are even worse than warfarin.

An ultrasound showed now issues with my bladder or kidneys, but I do not understand why I was bleeding.

Guess that this just shows the importance of regular checking of INR levels while on warfarin.

OK guys, I have been reading all your side effects for a couple of weeks now, and finally decided to jump into this pot! You will not believe this, but I have been on Diovan 80 mg twice a day along with a couple of other blood pressure medications. It's been about 2 years, maybe a little less, and for the past 10-12 months, I have complained to my doctor that my joints and muscles ache so much that I feel like a 100 year old person. I also have has every side effect mentioned on the 9 pages listed here with all of you. I have had every test imaginable for artery's/veins/muscles/joints/sleeplessness/hair loss/weight gain/swollen ankles...you name it, I've been tested for it. They can find nothing wrong with me at all. NOTHING! I'm sure they feel that it's all in my head, since I've been quite sensitive to a lot of meds. in the past!

I am usually very active and run around like a crazy woman most of the time, but I was absolutely walking like I'd been hit by a truck. I went to my doctor with all of the complaints listed under Diovan printed out, and believe me, she took notice. We stopped Diovan that night and I started on a couple of new meds. that have absolutely no side effects. It will be two weeks this coming Wednesday (June 4) and I am almost a new person. I'd say, about 98% pain free. I actually felt relief after being off for about 5 days. It's getting better day by day. I actually feel that this stuff was killing me slowly. Get off asap!
By the way, I tried to look up the new meds, and they are so new that I can't find anything. For me, they are an answer to prayer.

I'm 29, have been on birth control pills for 10 years, and switched to Yasmin about 2 years ago. I a small varicose vein in my right within 2 months of switching, but didn't think a relationship between my vasculature and the pill existed. I can now trace the entire vein from my right hip to my ankle. In the 2 years since starting Yasmin, my ankles and lower legs swelled heavily...but at very random times. It often began at the start of the 7-day sugar pill regime and finished by the time I started a new pack. I assumed that the estrogen withdrawal going into the sugar pills was too much for my body to handle and that the diuretic effects of Yasmin were obviously absent during that time. I also noticed leg cramping, heart palpitations, and I started waking up in the occasional hot sweat in a drenched bed.

So, after making sure that my heart and kidneys were healthy, my gynecologist prescribed continuous hormone Yasmin and claimed it as the "ultimate solution". For 4 months, I have skipped the sugar pills for each pack and started new packages immediately. I have not had a period since, and the edema has continued (still at random) and has become exponentially worse. In the last few weeks alone, the vein in my right leg has become massive, my legs are so distended by the end of the days on which they swellI that I can't fit into pants which are otherwise loose, I am noticing other large veins "surfacing", little veins are breaking everywhere, and I can now see most of the blood vessels beneath the skin in both legs. My primary care physician told me I have chronic venous insufficiency...a diagnosis I'm not okay with. I'm very worried...the changes and ensuing damage have happened way too quickly to be venous insufficiency. I am going to ween myself off of the pill, but don't know what the next step should be. Endocrinologist? Another OB/GYN? Anyone have ideas or similar experiences to share....

I have a surgery on the 29th to remove a large growth in my uterus, and since my periods have NEVER been regular, my doctor put me on FEMCON FE to ensure i would not start prior to my operation. I took the pill and the nextm morning the illnes started, Not on ly did i have sever mood swings, but when i ate i was in the bathroom violently puking, unable to keep anything down. I could not make a move, or i was nauseaus again. On top of it all, i have the most severe migraine i ever had in my life where i could literally feel my veins pounding. I cried from the pain, which caused a congestion that only made my pain worse. I called my doctor the next day and told him to give me a new pill and NOW.
I have never experience quite a nausea like with this drug. I was MISERABLE.
