I went to the doctor with complaints of possible mold/fungus in my lungs which got better on it's own - but progressed to a throat infection. Later, my right nostril was runny for a while, which progressed into a blockage/infection of my middle ear. The doctor agreed - I have no compacted wax or anything wrong with my outer ear, so it seems to be a middle ear infection. He prescribes Biaxin XL 500mg for seven days, for my combination of ailments.
By the first day, I had a very vivid wet dream. Awesome, I guess. Then the second day I start with diarrhea, and another vivid dream. Today is the third day, and I slept before work. Had another vivid dream about someone building a house for me - and really runny stool. I can hardly call it diarrhea - more like urinating from my anus. Anyway.
Blockage in my ear went away the second day, but it's back again. I searched the net to explain the diarrhea (hopefully find something explaining the expulsion of bacteria causes this, but no, just a 'side effect' I suppose). I'm going to take some Imodium as soon as I can to battle the diarrhea, and hopefully things will get better by the end.
I can't complain about the dreams though. No nightmares yet, and I enjoy remembering my dreams, so...

I am so lethargic it's not even funny. I can see why the Mirena is 99.9% effective-you're either sleeping or so tired you have no interest in anything, let alone sex. I had a vivid dream last night which I don't tend to have. Also, i've been so blue and can't seem to bounce back from it. I had almost no cramping when I had it inserted but it was expelled immediately. The NP had to reinsert it and said I should use ibuprofen whenever cramping, which seems to be happening more frequently. I've had this only a week and four days. I am concerned that my body may be trying to expel it. Also, I've have to frequently urinate. I have had UTI's in the past but not for a long while. This isn't worth it. I may tie my tubes as I originally planned. After all I have two absolutely beautiful children- my son and daughter.

Am in my second month of taking Metoprolol to control atrial fibrillation. Have been increasingly dealing with disturbingly vivid dream, headaches, slight nausea, abdominal discomfort and overall achiness. What is an alternative med to treat atrial fibrillation? I have glaucoma and a cardiac pacemaker for complete heart block. All suggestions welcomed. I'd like to dump the Metroprolol but appreciate that since starting to take it, I've had no problems with fibrillation (which my pacemaker isn't designed to control).

I have been taking Singulair since it came on the market almost 10 years ago. I am now 26 years old and working on a Masters in Psychology. My theory is about this drug that people that are experiencing depression, and suicidal thoughts are prone to having this without the drug. I cannot skip a day without this medication or else I start having severe flair ups. I am writing because it always seems when there is a good drug on the market it gets pulled because of the side effects. I hope Merck does extensive testing and surveying to make sure of these allegations before the drug is discontinued. Also I took Singulair the entire time I was pregnant and my child has no kind of birth defects etc.

Struggling with a sinus infection that threatened to bore into my brain, resulting, ultimately, in seizures and death, I've been taking Levaquin now for three days. I'm experiencing anxiety and sleeplessness, however, it's not from the medication. It's from all the hyperbole on the internet.
Look, I understand that many have had adverse reactions to this medication. One dose of penicillin can kill you without warning. At anytime. No warning. I suspect that few of those labellings Levaquin "poison" would ever bother to consider that - or anything else. All wrapped up in your misery, you spout off with rhetoric that is really better left to lawyers and politicians.
If you were uninformed of the possible side-effects of this medication, blame your doctor. I see that the last post here is dated November 2007, and the bottom of this first page takes us to October 2006. Perhaps one could take a bit of responsibility for oneself and do some research on one's own before popping a pill handed out by a disinterested physician. This information is out there - and yes, your doctor could have seen it, too. But he didn't bother, did he? Neither did you.
So, yes, with my first dose, and despite the impact drill driving through my eye-socket, I waited for the seizures, swelling and signs of imminent demise. Nothing. Sorry. Oh, my sinuses feel better, I don't have a brain infection, and so I won't die frothing at the mouth on my living room floor.
I'm sorry you feel bad - and if you hadn't run off at the mouth calling what may be one of the last effective antibiotics "poison", I might mean that with some sincerity. Oh, and lest you forget, antibiotics are poison by definition - the idea being that they affect/poison/kill the source more than they do the host.
So let's stop the hyperbole, and simply say you had a bad reaction to this medication. Not everyone does. Your option might have been to skip the doctor and the meds altogether, and see how you'd fare. But that would leave the responsibility, and the blame, all on you, then, wouldn't it? Far better to spread it around some.

I just started 250mg of Levaquin and on the 2nd night I had a vivid dream that I was about to be raped. When I woke up sweating, my entire body was tingling and I could STILL feel the guy's hand on my stomach. I haven't been able to focus at work all day. I called my doctor and told him that I won't take that again!

Well, about a year ago I was put on Lamictal and didn't experience any side effects, but was also on Lexapro, Trazodone, and Klonopin. I stopped all of the medication besides the Klonopin as I was doing well. However I recently was put back on a low dosage of Lamictal as a mood stabilizer. It's been a week. The only side effect I'm having is headaches! I have a headache all day long. Tylenol doesn't help, it doesn't go away. Once my dosage increases in a week I will only be on 50 mg of Lamictal. I just want the headaches to go away. Did anybody experience headaches while first taking the drug? I'm scared of all of the postings of memory loss and hair loss. I sleep fine, I'm not anxious, I had my first vivid dream last night since I started taking the drug. I don't want to go back on an anti-depressant. Any opinions?
