Hi...I've been on Topamax since October of last year. I take 50mg. in the morning and again at night. I haven't noticed any real significant decrease in the migraine frequency, just in the duration. Whereas sometimes I'd be in bed for an entire day, sometimes 2, now they only last until the early afternoon. A big plus. However, there are some side effects that I just can't live with. The dry mouth is a pain in the butt but that I can deal with. What I can't deal with is the almost complete loss of my short term memory. It's so bad that I will ask a person the same question numerous times in a 5 minute time period and have absolutely NO recollection of having asked the question previously. I have found myself walking down the street and not known where I am. I dial the telephone and not remember who is going to pick up on the other end. And I'm dazed and confused on a good day. On a bad day it's worse. I can't live like this. So...I was wondering if others had the same awful symptom that I'm experiencing. I have others that bother me but that one is the worst. Also, how do I wean myself off of this medication? Thanks for listening.....D.

My experience with Ambien CR is from a family member point of view. My father-in-law has only been taking it for 2 weeks and I was unaware of any side effects, until last night. My husband & I live directly across the street from my father-in-law - so at about 9:30 pm we received a call from his dad saying he had fell (he is not an elderly man either - 44 yrs. old) walking to his door & needed help up. He told my husband he had taken 2 - 5mg of Ambien about 40 minutes ago so he was tired & going to bed- so my husband walked him into the house. Everything seemed okay so he came home. An hour later I went out on our porch and noticed his dad was lying at the end of the drive way face up not moving. I yelled for my husband and he went over and woke his dad up - my husband & brother-in-law helped him in the house. He got undressed and got into bed.
About 20 minutes later (I was still on the porch at this point) I saw him walk out of the house AGAIN and get a beer out of the cooler and start walking down the street in his underwear. I again yelled for my husband and when he caught up to him he was talking to the shrubs and telling my husband our neighbors cat was out (which it wasn't) and he was trying to catch it. Again we put him in his room and told him to lay down - which he did. We went home and were watching a movie in the living room and all of sudden we hear his dad's truck start up! My husband ran out the door - thankfully in time to catch him. His dad proceeded to tell him he needed to go get ice for the cooler (which BTW - was full of ice) and he is still just in his underwear. We convince him to come inside and lay down (at this point very argumentative). This time my husband stays there for a long time. An hour later he came out again ate half a gallon of ice cream and went to bed. This morning he got up went to work and has no memory of anything that I just described.
This medication seems horrible. My husband caught him the other night eating a pack of 20 cupcakes and didn't realize he was sleepwalking/eating. The more I read about this medication it seems like our trouble is just beginning. I just fear that one night we won't be home and something will happen to him or someone else. Please consider all the risks before taking it - it not only effects you, it puts your family at risk also.

My son is 12 years old and has been taking Singulair for a few years I am not sure for how long since he has been taking allergy medicines for several years. I just recently asked his doctor to help me find a psychiatrist for him. He has not been prescribed Singulair in a very long time but he does have some left. Every once in a while when he would run of his allergy medicine or when he was too lazy to find his other allergy medicine he would take Singulair. My son took Singulair on March 8th 2008 I remember this day because we had guest coming over and we did some major cleaning in the house. His allergies were acting up due to the dust and mowing the lawn. I remember he took Singulair on this day, later that night he flipped out. He was very angry and out of control and wanted to fight my husband and stormed out of the house at 2am walking down the street. That was the last day he took Singulair. I had no idea until today. My son will no longer take Singulair. I had no idea what to do anymore with him. I had even looked into Bootcamp. Thank God I now know it is not his fault. Please do not let your children take it. I am outraged that it will take so long to investigate this drug.

White male, 34 yrs of age, prescribed levaquin for respiratory infection. 500 mg SID (once daily) for 9 days.

As of tommorrow will have been off Levaquin for 7 days. Experiencing joint pain in both knees, neck and a old shin splint.

I consider my self to be in good shape, exercising on a regular basis. But now, just walking down the street and climbing stairs is a chore. I wake up during the night with a great deal of discomfort in most joints.
