Took first pill (5mg) on 7/8. Second on 7/9. After lunch on 7/9, food stayed in stomach and would not digest. Felt like a huge lump. Digestion continues to be a problem. No appetite. Food does not look good. On 7/11, developed two hives with large red areas surrounding them, however, they were not itchy. Became quite tired also. Allergy symptoms of itching eyes, watering eyes, itching throat, stuffiness developed. Headaches to the point of taking a pain reliever. Developed muscle cramping in calves on 7/15. Still great difficulty eating with no appetite. Existing hiatal hernia became a problem at night with nausea. Terrible flatulence also. Exhaustion is now the description, not just tired. Feeling depressed, but perhaps that is a result of the exhaustion. Blood in urine on 7/18, the final straw. Discontinued med on 7/18. Hives have still not cleared up totally (7/28) and the tiredness has still not gone away. I have been told that when you have hives on the outside, you have hives on the inside too. I would never take this med again. Going to look into biofeedback.

I have been taking Lisinopril since Jan 07. Since I started taking the medication I have noticed blurred vision along with floaters. My eyes feel as if they have sand paper in them constantly. My stomach is bloated and hurts. My joints and muscles ache constantly. I have had several episodes of confusion. TIRED!, I am tired every day, having to take daily naps. I sleep 8-10 hours at night and wake up exausted! I feel unmotivated because I am tired most of the time. I also have the constant tickle in my throat along with a cough. I woke up the other night coughing so much I left the room so not to disturb my husband.

I am glad I found this site. I might have continued to attribute these side effects to getting older, not quite over the cold I had 3 weeks ago., eyes are bothering me because I work on the computer all day. I never had these symptoms until I began to use the Lisinopril.

I'm not sure my doctor used Kenolog as I was not told exactly what drug name it was, but I had a cortisone shot in both hips. Just after the shots, the room started spinning and I had to lie down for two hours in the Dr's office. I had started my period that morning when I went for the shot. It has been almost 4 weeks and I am still bleeding. It's not heavy but it's just there. The other side effects I had (and am still having some of them) are: facial flushing, night sweats, trouble sleeping, leg cramps, headaches, watering eyes, vision problems, and stomach burning, The doctor who gave me the shots told me that the menstrual bleeding was not a side effect of the shots. Well, it all changed after the shots. He suggested I go and see my gynecologist. I'm not going. I'm just wondering when it all will end. My hips are much better but you shouldn't have to go through this kind of thing to get something else fixed. I should have been told of the side effects that could happen with this. I didn't know what was happening to me. If I hadn't had the internet, I wouldn't have known and it would have driven me crazy.

It took me several months to figure out that the cause of my discomfort: hacking cough, pounding heart, shortness of breath and constantly watering eyes was from the Lisinopril. Most affects have eased since I quit taking this medicine.

My Mother has had a severe cough, running nose and watering eyes for months. She has been constantly tired and unable to sleep. She has also been experiencing dizziness and back pain. After explaining this to my Uncle, he told me to check her medication. I believe the culprit is Lisinopril. What I don't understand is why with all the side effects this drug causes-Why-Why-Why didn't the doctor take my 84 year old Mother off this drug. Why, After she constantly complained to him he kept her on this drug.

I was initially placed on Aceon for HBP but was switched to Linisopril by my drug provider in late July. Within several weeks I developed a cough that by mid-August had developed to violent, unpredictable and overpowering coughing spells that would last for three to five minutes. These spells were accompanied by watering eyes and a runny nose.

When I mentioned the problem to my doctor, he immediately speculated that it was a Linisopril reaction. Further research suggested that this was probably the case and that from the time I stopped taking it it would be from 2 to 4 weeks before the symptoms went away.

As I write this, I have been off for 16 days and the symptoms have not abated. Within the last week, I have had to sleep in a chair to avoid continual coughing.

In reading these postings, I was amazed at the wide variety of side effects and their severity. It appears that Linisopril is the ultimate "Weapon of Mass Destruction"

I started taking this medication (Lisinopril/HCTZ)8 weeks ago and have experienced a terrible dry cough and watering eyes that I assumed were allergies. I am a 41 year old woman and have never had allergies. I have wild, vivid dreams, muscle aches and overall feelings of fatigue and illness. If I had not found this site I would have continued to think that there was something wrong me me that was NOT attributed to the medication. I will see my doctor to have this medication changed!
