I have been taking Yasmin for 3 weeks now.

I started taking Yasmin a week before my wedding.

On our wedding night.. I had NO intent on being intimate with him.. and on our honeymoon...I felt like I was forcing myself to have sex.

I have NO sex drive. It was NEVER like this before. I hate it and its straining our new marriage.

On top of that Im extremely moody.

Im done with the pill.

I had Mirena put in on Monday at noon and had it removed on Wednesday at 4:30. The time in between was awful. First, the IMPLANTATION (and don't let anyone tell you it's an INSERTION - it's IMPLANTED) was honestly the worst pain I've ever had. It compares to slamming your finger in a door. My eyes immediately teared and I kind of screamed and jumped. The dr. said "It'll only hurt like that one more time." WHAT???? Sure enough, it hurt like that again, then it was in. Then the cramping started. It continued through that day, eased up, hurt a bit the next day. Then my stomach started hurting, and I began developing a bruise on my skin on top of where the Mirena was. It felt as if it were trying to push its way out through my skin. The next day I woke up feeling almost normal, but that afternoon thought I was in labor. Was crying, couldn't take deep breaths or it would REALLY hurt, severe cramps worse than any menstrual cramps I've ever had (and I've had BAD ones). My husband called the doctor and I went right over and had it removed. Within 1-2 minutes I felt normal again.

What upsets me the most is not the promotional piece of literature that only told me the benefits, but the fact that my gyno presented it as The Device That Would End All of my Problems. I would expect a more fair assessment from a doctor.

It ended up being her partner who removed it, and he said, "Mirena's not for everybody." I really wish it had been presented in a more unbiased way upfront.

Anyway, the pain is over now and I'm taking Loestrin. My advice would be to just REALLY SERIOUSLY consider what you are doing before you get this device, and be ready to have it removed if it doesn't work out for you.

I first had this shot the first of August before my wedding. My doctor told me that my period would stop and may have some spotting after my wedding on the 25th, I started bleeding a normal period a week before my wedding and it lasted to almost three weeks, even on my wedding night!!!! At the end of September my period came back and lasted for about 3 weeks and the same with October, but hey now I can say that I haven't had a period since! I did not go back in November to get another shot because I have had SO many problems. I have gained 30 lbs. since the first and only injection and still continuing to gain, I have cut back on eating almost completely but I have to eat something because with it regulating my blood sugar I will get very light headed and dizzy! I WILL NOT go back and get this shot EVER again and nor would I ever recommend it to ANY one!!!!!!

I went on NuvaRing because it was suggested by my dr and mom who was an rn. I though nothing of it. I noticed a week before my wedding i was more tired then usal and moddy. The night before my wedding i thought i couldnt sleep because of excitement but no i was so tired that i fell right a sleep. The day of the wedding i was really moody i thought everything was going wrong and every little thing made me cry. The night of the wedding was terrible because i was really tired and i didnt want to do anything. no sexual drive. But after a fight with my new husband i gave in and did what anyone did on the wedding night. On the honey moon i was really moody, pernoid, tired, felt mersible, and i didnt want to have sex at all with my husband whom i love. my husband knew something was up. but we couldnt figure it out. when i was off it for my period i felt calmer and happier but as soon as i got back on it my husband and i would fight over the stupidest things, things that usaly didnt bother me. we hardly had sex and it hurt him. my roomates even noticed that i was acting different. then a couple days ago i noticed tenderness in my breast, dizzness falling over once in a while, and not wanting to talk , i wanted to be alone, and i was talking about an anulment for our marriege. I thought i was just getting a cold because i felt really sick.. but then when i woke up this morning and i could not feel my husband kiss my neck, pinch my neck or arm, i felt numb all over and my husband was getting worried we looked up the side affects and we both noticed right away this is what was happening. we took it out right away and im feeling much better. other then feeling irritated at my dr for not telling me the side effects.
I would not recomend this to anyone.

Besides needing a birth control, I was put on Femcon to also regulate my cycle and try to schedule it around my wedding day. Well, it completely backfired! My family is calling this the pill from hell. It ruined my wedding night. I tried delaying my cylce by continuing the active pills (as instructed by my doctor) and instead I got breakthrough bleeding which lasted over a week along with the worst cramps I have ever felt in my life. I was on codine on the wedding day just to make it through the day. I've also been getting migraines around the clock. I've tried sticking it out. I'm now finishing my third month and again I'm having the worst cramps ever along with frequent migraines. I've been doubled over in pain for the past two days now. On top of that I've had terrible mood swings. All of my friends and family are afraid to talk to me, I'm not myself. My doctor wasn't much help either telling me that maybe I should find another form of birth control which unfortunately is not really an option for me. She claimed I'd probably have the same reaction to any pill. Is she right? Before I was on the pill I'd get pretty bad cramps and migraines (bad enough to be put on perscription pain killers back then) and was told that these symptoms would be lighter and might even disappear with the pill. Instead there much worse, almost unbearable. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments? I'm working on finding another doctor. Is there a chance these symptoms might sort themselves out if I continue considering I wasn't taking them properly at the beginning?

I just got married a few weeks ago and I didn't want to have sex with my husband on our wedding night!! I did for him, but I had no interest whatsoever. I couldn't understand why until I came to this site. I came here because last night was the final straw. I thought that maybe my sex drive was gone because of something of him, so I decided to make myself ready for him. I couldn't even get me "ready". Dry as could be. For me, this med is a strain on my new marriage!

I've been on Yasmin for 4 months.

I had been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for about 3 months, to give my body some time to get used to it before I got married, and about a week after wedding I had to go to the ER because I was bleeding non-stop, and passing clots of blood the size of a dollar coin. This had been happening for over a week! The ER couldn't find anything, so they called it "Abnormal Uterine Bleeding," and sent me to the Gyn. *Immediately* after quitting Ortho Tri, I had no more clots passed.

My Gyn got me started on Yasmin, and during the same visit, located a fibroid tumor on my cervix. We completely believe this was caused by Ortho Tri, because of the estrogen. My mother had them, as well, and they grew because of the estrogen. Mine is in the way of my birth canal, so when I have children, I may have to either have it removed or have a C-section, if it continues to grow.

I thought I was fine on Yasmin...my periods have been normal...until my last one, which was a week early and lasted for 2 whole weeks.

I've also noticed a lump in my right breast several weeks ago. It feels like a lymph node, it moves a bit, but it is also tender and sore. I have gone up a size or 2 in bra cup size, as well. This lump has me worried, but not as worried as I have been, now that I found this site. I am going to the doctor soon.

I've had major problems with Urinary Tract Infections, too, but that could be because I'm a newlywed, and was a virgin until my wedding night. Still, I clean up, and I wash like crazy, and I still get them. I take cranberry pills, and drink water...they still come.

The WORST is my MOOD SWINGS! I have been psycho woman lately! I truly cannot control my mood swings - it's as if I am a different person!!! I hate myself when I am in the midst of them, and I cannot stop! This is so not me! I argue about the smallest thing, I scream and get viscious. This is NOT me!

I'm going to find out about the Patch, and if that doesn't work, then nothing. My life, my happiness, my husband's happiness, is NOT worth the pain that these pills put me through.

Has anyone else had the breast lumps???
