Hello! My name is Angelita and I am so happy that I found this website. I had the Mirena put in about 4 months ago. Thank "GOD" I had it taken out today. I've been dealing with headaches, fatigue, hair loss, acne, mood swings, upper and lower back pains, insomnia, cramps that felt like contractions, weight gain, hot flashes and joint pain as well. I seriously feel as though the "DEVIL" lives with in me, because I have been so mean towards my family. Taking all the strength with in me that at times I don't even want to get out of bed. I don't even want to leave my house to spend time with my family, because I am to tired to get up and get ready, and I feel ugly due to my weight gain and acne out breaks. For 4 months Mirena has stolen my life! I demanded yesterday that my doctor take it out! I told him that if he did not have the time to send me to another doctor who did because I wanted it out! He called me in the morning and asked if I could be there at 2:00, with a big smile I showed up. It didn't hurt when he took it out, but I did feel like a rush around my pelvic area. I felt like a drain sort of speak. Pressure like a period was about to start, although I have not started to bleed. Does anyone know when I should expect to bleed and when will all the other symptoms go away?

November 14 I was given Avelox for a sinius and ear infection. My husband had taken the sam medication 4 weeks earlier and had absolutely no side effects what-so-ever. When my infection reaccured my doctor decided to give me Avelox since it was a stronger antibiotic. I took my first pill prior to going to bed. I woke up Saturday with a headache and a general feeling of being agitated and moody. I took the second pill and as the day went on I began to feel some tingling in my arms but contributed to a neuro test that I had had 2 weeks prior where they shock your nerves. The tingling got worse by that evening (Saturday). Sunday I took my third pill still relating the the tingling to possible nerve damage from the EEG. I had to keep shaking both arms from time to time because I was also experiencing some numbness. I took my 4 pill on Monday early am. By 9:00 the tingling was extensive and the numbness was also becoming more regular. During all this time I was having intermittent severe headaches as well. By Monday night I was going crazy with both my arms tingling constantly and then my left hand got really heavy, I reach up to rub my arm and realized I could not feel my shoulder. I got a needle and pricked it and could feel nothing. This brought back a severe allergic reaction I had back in the 80's to Vistaril. It clicked in my brain at that point that it was not nerve damage from the EEG but possibly an allergic reaction. I immediately went to the web and keyed in allergic reaction to Avelox and found this site. I was stunned. Needles to say I did not take the pill Tuesday and went straight to my physician. He was hard pressed to believe that my symptoms were being caused by the Avelox. I even brough copies of some of the entries on this site. He did not want to accept that but changed my antibiotic and said that if it was the medication then the symptoms would start to subside by Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon both arms were considerably better and by Thursday mid-day I was back to normal. I did tell my physician that although he might not be convinced I was 100% positive that it was an allergic reaction. I will be calling him today to let him know that I was right.

I had a very small insect bite looking spot on my leg on Wednesday afternoon. Since it had pain in it and I have had a staph infection before, I immediately went to the doctor. The doctor prescribed Bactrim and one other antibiotic. I took a Bactrim pill at 10 pm and by midnight I was up with stomach cramps and chills so intense that the shaking made my muscles sore. My eyes were extremely bloodshot. The only way to fight off the cold feeling and the chills was to get in a warm bath. After my bath, I stayed up for 3 hours because of the cramps. I was able to get a few hours of sleep. At 9am I made my way down stairs- all the way feeling as if I was going to pass out. When I finally made it down the stairs, I threw up. By this time I was also running a low grade fever and had begun spotting. I immediately went the the emergency room. Upon arrival, I threw up again. I asked the nurse to please let me lay down. After 4 hours, an IV, pain meds for my throbbing headache, nausea meds, and IV antibiotics, my doctor drained the spot on my leg. He told me KEEP TAKING BOTH ANTIBIOTICS and sent me home. He said that if I had more symptoms to stop taking the Bactrim. I did not follow his instructions. I came home and luckily one of my friends is in pharmacy school.... she sent me this site and told me what she thought about what happened. I am so happy that I did not take the medicine again. It is scary that this drug did this to me after only ONE pill. It is scary to think what could have happened if I had continued the meds. This drug is very dangerous and everyone should be aware of the potential hazard to their health before taking it.

I,ve had mirena for 2 1/2 yrs and it has been the worst 2 1/2 yrs ever! I went to the ob 8 months ago to have it removed and my Dr. would not take it out she said that there was no possible way that it could be causing my 6 days in a row migraines that only respond to imitrex nothing else. So for the past couple of days I've been trying to make an appt to have
mirena taken out but the appts are like 2 weeks wait. I removed it myself this morning took a while to find it, hope this doesn't offend anyone I just wanted it out that bad. I really hope I start to feel better and that all the symptoms tat I have been having are not all in my head. My symptoms include no menstrual bleeding but instead a viscous cycle of Pms, cramps, headaches and fatigue that never go away. For the past 10 months I,ve had migraines and have been taking imitrex consistently. I don't ever feel like getting out of bed and my 2 oldest kids don't understand why I'm so ill and my youngest 2 1/2 says mommy has a headache, all day long. I'm curious to know if any one else has had migraines or chronic neck pain? Thanks.

I am taking 60 mg of Prednisone a day for Bells Palsy, and my muscles are becoming very sore. They don't appear to be weak, but very sore. Like when a limb falls asleep and you are waking it up again, without the pins and needles. I am only on the drug for another 3 days, today, tomorrow and monday. I don't see the doctor again until wednesday afternoon, should i worry? I only was prescribed 7 days worth of the drug.
Please help!
