Week ago today symptoms and conditions

I was diagnosed with a bronchial infection 1 week ago today. I was prescribed Clarithromycin (500 MG tablets) and Advair. About 3 days into treatment, I started having a bad taste in my mouth. In the last 4 days, the taste seems to be getting worse. I've also been feeling jittery, my heart feels like it's racing and I keep a dull headache. On the 3rd day of taking this combo, I ran a fever between 101.3 and 102.3. I thought I had the flu, but the fever broke with some Tylenol and never came back. I was told I did not have the flu, although my husband and son both got it 2 and 3 days later. After a week of taking medications for an infection, I would think I'd be feeling better, but I'm not. I have 2 more days left of the Clarithromycin, but I'm not sure I want to continue. I think I'll probably cut out the Advair first and see what effect that has on me.

I'm VERY glad I found this too! I started taking it one week ago today. Took one dose that day, in the evening. Then I took 2 doses the next day, Sunday. One in the morning and one in the evening. I woke up the following morning, Monday, at about 5 am with horrible, horrible pain in my upper stomach/esophagus area. This lasted the entire day. There was terrible pain that flared up every couple minutes or so. I could hardly breathe and sometimes cried or yelled out because of the sheer pain. The pain has lessened considerably since Monday, however, it is now Saturday, and it still hurts every few minutes and hurts to eat/drink. I have never had anything like this happen to me IN MY LIFE, and it suddenly does a day after I begin taking this medication? Sorry, that's more than a coincidence. I called the office that gave it to me, was referred to a nurse, and she said that that was, "Not a normal reaction" and to "take it with a big meal." I'm so scared. I don't have insurance, and I'm beginning to fear that my stomach/esophagus has been severely damaged by the doxycycline. After reading this article (******), which I admittedly do not fully understand because I am not a physician, I am even more afraid because the doctor who wrote it said he hospitalized one of his two patients who experienced these symptoms. If anyone has any advice, I'd be so grateful.

I am so glad I found this!!! I too took this pill before bed without a lot of water and I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I was having a heart attack!!! I cannot eat anything without it burning like there is a ulcer in the esophagus!! I have been off this medicine for 4 days and I still am on the slim fast diet because I cannot eat anything!!! How long does this pain last? Is it permanent? I don't know whats going on I am starting to get really nervous!! If this many people are having the same problem we should file a class action suit this is ridiculous!! I cannot not live like this the rest of my life! I am normally a very healthy person and I'm only 29 so hopefully this did not do any serious damage! So does anybody been off of this and not feel like a flame thrower is in your chest anymore????

Update after removal a week ago:
Today is the first day I have had NO JOINT PAIN! I am so happy all the time, like feeling normal is euphoric compared to how I was before. I have so much energy.. I feel like running a marathon, and I am not a runner! My husband jokes, "I think you were right about the Mirena." Duh! I can't believe the answer to my agony was just around the corner... had I only known all these years that the Mirena was ruining my life. I feel alive again!

I LOVE MY IUD. For those of you thinking about an IUD, I wanted to post a positive case study. I am sure there are more, but those people don't bother posting. Before I got my IUD, I did extensive research, not just internet or industrial propaganda, but peer reviewed medical journal articles. I decided on the IUD because of efficacy and minimal hormones. The IUD releases a steady amount of progestin that equates to about 20% that of the mini-pill (what breast feeding women take). Even less than 10% of a low dose pill.

I had the Mirena IUD inserted 7 months ago after being on the pill for way too long. I had random cramps for a few months on and off, and had to readjust to being on my OWN cycle vs. the pill. I do get PMS every month, but I attribute that to my own body's cycle, not the IUD. I have not gained a single pound, am on a normal cycle, have minimal bleeding during my period and no spotting in between cycles. My partner and I are thrilled to have this option. Only you know your body, decide for yourself.

I am so glad that this site is here. I too was given Yaz not as birth control but as an alternative to mood swings, No periods for months, and heavy bad periods.. I am 31 and the mother of 4. I had my tubes tied at 24 after my last child. I had taken other types of birth control at younger ages and had no problems. Well this was the start of my 4th month. I too didn't get my period till the week after the white pills. It was shorter and lighter at first, but since its terrible. I bleed longer and harder than before I started taking Yaz. I too cry for no reason and get very mad very easily. My sex drive too went from anytime any where to none. My husband has begged me for weeks to stop taking this pill. With the heavy bleeding he was concerned for my health. I stopped taking the Yaz pill one week ago today, and I am still having very heavy bleeding. This is the second week of it. I just want it all to stop. I too was feeling very tired and would catch myself falling asleep in the middle of the day. But at night when I would go to bed I would lie there awake. I was lucky if I could sleep for 5 hours at a time. My only concern now is when will this bleeding stop, and when is it something that I should contact a doctor about. I will never go on this pill again and I will tell anyone who wants to not to. I don't like going for three and four months with out my period, but I am not sure after this experience if I will try another for of the pill or not.

Started taking Lisinopril one week ago today. By saturday I was feeling bloated and on monday I felt like my tummy was going to explode! Hard to breath when walking, not able to work out at all, not sleeping well, tired etc. A little cough, not bad. Stopped taking it today and I already feel better, can walk and the full feeling is getting better. I am lucky my PCP is very helpful and we are already looking to other treatments.

i just recived the shot a week ago today. i feel like i am sick no appetite, my back and hips are hurting i recived the shot in me butt i have no mark yet and i haven't got my period yet and it has been on the same day every month for the past 12 years. i am supper tired all day because i can not sleep at night and am having anxeity problems. if anyone has ever missed there period after having this shot please let me know.

I just was put on toprol a few days ago and have only taking it twice in which I am suppose to be taking it once a day. After the first one I was having hallucinations but didn't think of it until reading some of these side effects. I don't think I should keep taking it. sounds pretty scary. I have had some pretty off the wall dreams both times I've taking it so far plus shortness of breath. Please tell me if you would stop taking it. Please some one tell me something cause as of now I'm not going to take it again unless someone on here tells me I should. I have pvc and was just diagnosed with it. My heart rate was 240 when the ambulence came and checked me out. It happened a week ago. Today is jun. 22nd. It was very scarey for me cause I have never had problems like this before. I don't know much about it and I'm trying to find out more. Please help in making the right decision on whether to stop taking it or not. I personally think I should stop I'm 38 yrs. old. It's 315 in the morning, I am up again for the....Wow, I can't remember when I had a good night sleep. I started taking this drug on December 5, 2004, when I was admitted into the hospital for Congestive Heart Failure. I am 29 years old, and I am seriously contemplating suicide. I have been to my doctor many times for this cough. The first time, they said the cough was caused from my smoking. So I quit. Then when it did not go away they tell me it's because I quit smoking(ironic huh?) So it still didn't go away. I went back to the doctor, and they gave me Nexium for Acid Reflux. Of course that didn't work. On Valentine's Day I had a diffibrulator inplanted in my chest, and a week ago today I had my staples removed. While the nurse was removing them I mentioned my cough to her. She tells me that Lisinopril is the cause. I stopped taking it that day. My cough is still here. I need the cough to go away. I have 4 kids, and I am only 29. I am too young to die. Someone please tell me that this cough will go away soon. I am so tired of not sleeping. I can't even go any where because people treat me like a leper. I can't talk to any one on the phone because I can't stop coughing for longer than 1 minute. Nothing works, trust me I have tried EVERYTHING. I bought every single OTC medication on the market. I drove an hour to go to an alternative medicine shop for drugs they claimed would help me. I even ordered chinese medicine on the internet, and nothing works. I keep a cough drop in my mouth 24 hours a day, and even sleep with it in my mouth. No one I know understands what it is I am going through. My husband laughs at me when I break down and cry. My kids don't know what's going on with me. I would give my right arm for this cough to go away. It does give me some comfort to know that I am not alone in wishing horrible torment to the creator of this pill. At least someone knows what I am going through. Thanks to the creator of this web site.
