Wow! I'm so glad that I'm not thinking these things up in my head. I have been on Wellbutrin for about 2 1/2 months now and I have noticed hair loss but I thought it was just because of stress. However, reading this makes me very nervous about taking my 300 mg. a day. I also feel that I forget things a lot too; where I put my keys, my bag etc. I have also had ringing in my ears and sensitivity with both my eyes and ears. Has anyone else had all of these side effects? And if so, what did you and your doctor do?

I have been taking it for two weeks. The first week I noticed severe itching lasting 30 minutes or more within 3 hours of taking the 50 mg pill. I also had headaches, insomnia, nightmares, ringing in my ears and short term memory loss. I thought these symptoms would decrease when my body adjusted to the medication. After taking it for one week, my blood pressure did not go down, but increased. I called my doctor's office to let them know. I should have reported these side effects at that time, but since I just talked to the nurse on the phone, I didn't mention them. The nurse told me the doctor wanted me to double my dose since it was not decreasing my blood pressure. I then began having swelling of the hands, feet, ankles & lower legs, joint pain, increased thirst, dry lips and mouth, shortness of breath in addition to the original side effects. The only thing that stopped was the itching. I am going to call my doctor's office Tuesday (we are in the middle of a 3-day weekend/holiday) and report all of this.

I just started Wellbutrin 5days ago, to help me concentrate in college. On the 3rd day, I noticed a couple of things: I got a moderate headache, I felt my heart pounding from my chest & racing (palpitations), I felt I was cut off from the world "like I was a puppet and someone just cut my strings" but the one thing that made me stop this med after day 4, my eyelids got swollen and it looked like I got socked in both eyes, with no bruising. I took Benadryl, Tylenol, Aleve, and none helped much, however I did get some relief with Motrin. I've have been off Wellbutrin for 2 days now, and all of my side effects have been decreased into half; I'm just waiting for my body to get rid of this stuff out of my system. I have yet to contact my doctor, due to the weekend/holiday, however he did warn me that the first 2 weeks it will be tough, and the side effects would go away in the longterm use, but I couldn't hang. I went work, and all the nurses I work with noticed I was "out of it", and my eyes were swollen, I had to go home ill, because I felt like I was going to pass out and my eyes were going to pop out. I hope this was somewhat informative and good luck to anyone that is on this med.
