Well I too am having "weird" symptoms. It may be due to Omeprazole but not sure at this point. I switched from Prilosec OTC to Omeprazole which I thought to be the exact same thing. A couple months after the switch I am having chest tightness. Not really pain but just a weird feeling in my chest that almost feels like anxiety or stress and kind of a general weird feeling. Also kind of feels like a chest cold without the mucus that goes along with it. Went to the doc and had a EKG which was normal. I'm 30 years old and don't have any family history of heart issues.
I'm going to stop taking it for a few days to see if the symptoms get better. I'll post back in a week or so.

I have been on this med (25 mg) for eight days to treat SSRI resistant depression. Three days ago I developed flu like symptoms, with fever and vomiting. While I have hypertension I have also seen an increase in my BP even though I am taking my BP medications. However the most difficult to deal with side effect is extreme tooth pain that started when the flu symptoms did. It is so painful I have to eat soft foods. I have had no dental problems in over 25 years. Has anyone else had this effect?

I've only been on Doxycycline Hyclate for 2 weeks - I am supposed to take it for 2 months to clear up my acne. The first side effect I experienced was the nausea/vomiting. I HAVE to eat something before I take it or it makes me throw up. I was sensitive to the sun, but the thing that was the most bothersome was the tingling in my feet & hands. When water touched them, they would tingle as if they were asleep. It was a very weird feeling. The worst side effect for me, though, are my mood swings. I get so angry I feel almost like I'm going to explode. I can't just drop it like I usually do - I just keep fighting & yelling - which is not like me. I've been saying things I don't mean & lashing out over stupid small things. I feel almost as if I'm going crazy. This is just the first 2 weeks, after reading this board, I'm wondering if it's even worth continuing. Supposedly, when this is prescribed for acne, most cases come back after you stop taking the pill. If it's going to come back anyways, I'd rather not put myself through this for 2 months...

My husband took Chantix before I tried it. He was a two pack a day smoker and honestly, I thought he would never give it up.
He had all the normal side effects at first. The nausea was the worst but he learned that eating first helped. Then of course there was the dreams but he could also live with that. All in all, he didn't really notice any change in himself at all. But there was a change and it hasn't changed back yet, and he has been off Chantix for over six months now.
At first, we thought it was just nicotine withdrawal that was making him so mean. But as the days turned to weeks, then weeks to months, it is obvious to his entire family that this medicine has caused a complete personality change in him. He is always so angry. We have been married for over twenty years, and it has just been in the past few months that he has actually been really mean to me. Not physically, just verbally. It seems that we argue about everything. I can never do anything to please him anymore. Everything that goes wrong is my fault. He is just basically an unhappy person now.
The worst part is how it effects our teen age children. They hate to go places that includes him. He is so quick to fly off the handle with them. He has embarrassed me by talking down to me in public and he has done the same to the kids. He would have never done that before. He used to really care if he hurt my feelings, but now, it is as if he doesn't care anymore. He agrees that he seems more agitated than normal, but says he just doesn't know what to do about it. It just has effected his whole personality and it seems that it is a permanent change, since he has been off Chanitx for more than six months now.
He says he hurts a lot now, his muscles and joints ache all the time. That is another side effect that I have found occurs with Chantix users. His memory and concentration is terrible now. He will swear he told us something or asked us to do something for him, when in truth, he has said nothing. He will begin to say something and stop in mid sentence, leaving us waiting to hear what he is saying. When we tell him that he did not finish his statement, he gets angry at us. We feel like we are in a no win situation when dealing with him, so we just walk on egg shells around him now. I want my husband back and my children want their father back.
Yes he is smoke free, but at what cost to him and his family? This drug should have never been allowed to be put on the market without further testing.
Luckily I only took it for three days. But during those three days, my vision got so blurry that I could not even see the TV, and could barely drive a car safely. I called Pfizer to ask about this and at first, thought they were really concerned about me. But then I realized they only wanted to document my side effect. After stopping the medicine, my vision cleared up. I then wrote to Pfizer and complained. I demanded they refund my money and they did, without any questions.
So to everyone who is taking this or considering taking this, please don't! Please stop now if you are taking it. It is a dangerous drug. Smoking is bad for us, we know that. But at least it is something we know. We don't know all the dangers of this drug yet. It is just not worth the risk.

I have had the mirena out now since the 17th October, I had had it for about 2years.it was causing me mood swings, very bad acne, chest pains, insomnia, a weird feeling-sometimes painful-during sex, lowered sex drive, itchy skin, a weird tingling in my facial skin and very bad pre-menstral depression. Am now using condoms as my sole contraceptive(bit scary, but doing fine so far!).
So far my skin has improved alot-I thought it would take a lot longer, the spots haven't completely gone, but no new ones and it looks alot brighter. Also, mood swings are alot better, no pmt and no depression. The chest pains have gone and the tingling, havent had such horrible sleeps and sex drive is definately back!
If this thing is affecting you, then get it taken out! I feel like a new woman! I have not had another period yet, due in the next week. mmmm...I wonder what that will be like! Weird. Anyway, Im just pissed off I never had it taken out earlier an that I thought I had no other choice. It definately didn't agree with me. Do not listen to any docs/nurses who tell you it is 'only local hormones and will therefore not cause side-effects'! LIES!!! It tells you on the leaflet that it may cause these side effects. I dont know why they give you this contradictory info.
Cheers X

I would like to stop taking paxil, I have been on it for 3 yrs. When I skip my medicine I get what feels like electrical shocks in my neck & head. I wasnt sure if I had a pinched nerve at 1st but began to associate this with the event that I had not taken my meds. I also have onset of panic attacks & rapid heart, & terrible terrible forgetfulness, as to even what cabinet I would like to open, I open the wrong one, go into the wrong doorway, wrong driveway. I am very concerned. I have told my Dr. that I would like to get off this Paxil but Ive been told that it would be best since I was suffering from anxiety attacks in past. I would like to be committed to be able to handle the withdrawls. If anyone has been successful in stopping Paxil and now feels pretty back to normal, please let me know. Thanks

I received the Kenalog shot in my right shoulder for joint pain that other meds could not resolve on September 13, 2007 (tomorrow will be one week ago) After the first 48 hours of injection I did experience the "typical" steriod type side effects being facial flushing, hot flashes, minor anxiety and slight insomnia on the first couple of nights after the injection. I have just recently noticed a hot/burning sensation on the outside of my right ankle, almost like I applied icy hot to that area. Never before have I experienced this, although it is not painful, it is a weird feeling. As I was first reading all of the other postings I immediately became overwhelmed with anxiety because I too asked my doctor the side effects and as all of the others have stated he said "One percent of patients get an infection in the injection site". That's it, he never said one single side effect. My question to all is that I haven't read anyones posting that states an onset time of the side effects they are experiencing. Am I to still expect more side effects? Has the Kenalog not be in my body long enough for the side effect to become apparent? Please advise! Thanks in advance for sharing such personal information with me. BTW- my shoulder pain has resolved for the time being but because of the now known REAL side effects of Kenalog- If I was to have to take this shot again to keep the pain from coming back- I choose the pain. My heart goes out to everyone who has had even the slightest negative side effect from this drug! LJONES/VA

I am having tingling burning sensation in my feet, legs and hands and arms. My blood pressure was not improving on 5 mg so I upped it to 10 and those symptoms are much worse. The tingling sensation goes all the way up my left arm and up above my knees on my legs.
I have tried to take the Lisinipril before and stopped for these same reasons. My doctor does not seem to think that it is due to the Lisinipril. so I tried it again and the burning, burning sensation is driving me crazy and keeping me awake. I have to get up and stand in cold water for a while to get some relief.
I have not read about anyone with the same symptoms. Does anyone out there have these symptoms??

I've been on the nuvaring since January 2007. The first few months were great! I felt awesome and better than ever. This was because it kept my periods on a normal schedule. I was having them 2 and sometimes 3 times a month for 7 or 8 days at a time. NR completely took care of that problem. My periods are great now and almost pain free. They are very light, and that week, I feel better than ever. However, that is about the only thing that is really great about this stuff. Here in the last few months I have become increasingly emotional. I cry over everything and anything...even if it's nothing. I lose my temper quite frequently (over stuff that used to never bother me). I am extremely tired and can't seem to catch up on sleep. Also, in the past few weeks, I've began experiencing odd pains in my right chest area and head. They are weird feeling and very hard to describe. I am still at a loss to what I am going to do. I suppose I am going to ask other's opinions. NR can be a great thing, but it also messes with your emotions way too much. The worst part is, the man that I love and am getting married to on September 15th, 2007 is having to deal with a totally different person than he started dating. It makes me sad, yet I know that I need to be on some form of birth control due to such long and frequent periods without it.

I had been on nuvaring for 6 weeks. I usually don't do well with any birth control pills so when I heard about nuvaring I was excited to try it. The first few days I felt some light body ache as if I were getting sick. I noticed I was feeling depressed, but I thought it was because of some problems in my personal life. Then I went on a trip to Brazil to visit my family. I always have a great time. This time I wasn't having fun at all. I was always super depressed. I was always tired and never felt like doing much. Some days I just felt like crying. Some nights I would wake up in the middle of the night, think about my problems and just start crying, something that is not like me. My emotions were totally out of wack. I was not in conrol of my emotions, which is not a good feeling. I also had this horrible pain/feeling in the middle of my chest. More like an emotional pain as if you were missing someone super bad, as if someone had died, a very weird feeling. These symptoms subsided a little with a vitamin b complex. I read that vitamin B6, about 100 mg is good for depression. I would take a multivitamin and with it a vitamin B complex. On the days I would forget I felt the difference, the symptoms were worse. Two times during my trip when I was having one of those days my grandmother then my father asked if everything was ok, that I looked pale. The second time when he asked me, I thought to myself, this is not normal. I feel horrible. I came on to the web and found this sight. The same day I took out my ring. I was on my second month starting my third week. It has been two days. That pain in my chest has gotten much better and also my mood is getting better. About the sex drive I am not sure, because I have been away from my husband since I started the ring, but I haven't thought about sex at all. I think it was the right choice to take it out. Another thing about a week and a half ago my breasts have been very tender. My breast are still very tender, maybe a little worse, probably because I took olut the ring a week earlier, but I am glad I did. Hopefully now I will enjoy the rest of my trip. All these products for birthcontrol with hormones is like poison to our body. Well at least I have noticed it has been for mine.

After a couple of months on this drug, I have begun to experience a weird feeling while sleeping, especially on my side. It feels as though there are vibrations in my head which in my sleep I attribute to having left the washing machine on underneath me downstairs. Of course, this is an illusion. The experience wakes me up, then I feel my heart beating faster (maybe anxiety?). when I swallow a few times and turn over in bed, the feeling goes away, but it is very disconcerting.

if we can get an organized effort together, perhaps we can at least get the fda to begin an investigati

well, this has been an enlightening forum.. glad to know im not crazy. I started taking toprol xl about 1 1/2 months ago..and it's been DOWNHILL ever since. I went to the ER one day with a rapid heart beat and overall weird feeling, they say it was either a panic attack or dehydration. anyway, the first 4 days after that i took 25mg of metroprolol, and my first side effect was tingling and pain in my leg. Then, my Dr. prescribed 50mg to keep my BP and palpiations down. Since then, i've felt bad EVERY day. Tingling in legs, arms, face and lips. Fatigue. Consitpation and Gas. Nausea. CRAZY dreams. An overall bad/weird feeling. Weird heartbeat. Though, I have to say i havent had any weight gain. I told my Dr, his first idea was i was having panic attacks, i tried zanax for about 2 weeks, didn't really help. He insists what im feeling isnt from the toprol...(must be in my head?) I had blood work and and echocardiogram-everything came back normal. I guess he's all out of ideas so his next suggestion is for me to see an neurologist who i'll be seeing this week, if that doesn't work, he suggested a psychiatrist... That's not gonna happen. If it comes down to it i'll just have to ween myself off these crazy pills.. After reading all these posts, i'm convinced it's the toprol....

I feel the same and guest 40431 if I skip a few days because I cant get to the pharmacy right away I start feeling dizzy and light headed. When I blink my eyes I feel this weird feeling of
electricity that goes all through my body. It happens when I
blink or swallow. It is the weirdest sensation and I dont like it
at all. If I miss a few day I begin to cry alot and feel a sense of wanting to kill myself. I take the effexor XL 75mg I just hope things will get better. This is very scarey. I dont want to be addicted to anything. When I go to my doctor in a few days I will have a serious chat with him reguarding this medication. I was told that it is very safe and not addicting.
God help us all in the world of medications.

Kim,
you've mentioned that problems with the b-vitamines. I had a pretty similar experience with it. I didn't know if it was just in my head or really caused by the vitamines. Everytime I took one of the vitamin b (complex) pills about 2 hours later I felt something like uneasily, nervous and a dizzy. It was a very weird feeling that went away again after a few hours more.
I find it interesting, that you seem to have that feelings, too... So there must be a connexion..... Damn why can't anyone finally find out what that pill really is doing with our bodies and our metabolism!!!???
Your post really made my cry now kim! I know so much how you are feeling right now and reading all those things makes me remember, how I had been feeling about 1,5 to 2 years ago.... Life seemed so empty and meaningless, it was just a "being there somehow", not a "life". I exactly know what you mean with every single word you wrote!
But Kim believe me: You'll get out of there and one day you'll be able to do all the things you've mentioned again!! I'm so sure!! Try to believe us here, we really know what we're talking about. I never thought I'd be able again to sing in my band, I totally quitted thinking about. And now I'm back and still can't believe it!!
And try not to care too much about what other people, who DON'T really know you and your problems, say!! I know it sounds hard, but caring about their words, too, only makes it worse!! I know how they look at you and ask you, how you're doing, and the only thing they really like to hear is "Well, I'm doing completely fine, thanks...". And everything that is different from that they simply can't understand!! I've experienced that so many times...
Kim, also keep in touch with dejay and keep posting here, I think to have contact to other victims of that nightmare pill is really the only thing that really can help not to loose our mind totally!!
I'll think of you and pray for you both and all of the other women, especially for those, who are feeling as bad as we did or do and STILL don't know WHAT is going on!! I fear there are thousands of them out there, sitting in psychical clinics, taking thousands of pills that don't help and the only thing that really COULD help, would be getting off that Yasmin, but they simply don't know and their doctor's don't WANT to know!!!
Best wishes and big hugs to all of you!!
Silke (... eyes filled with tears)

hi, i know it sounds easy for me to say calm down but please try to relax a little, the tingling sensations in your arms will go,i had them for a while,i don't remember how long but they have gone now, i also used to get it in my face from my right eye down the side of my nose and across my cheek, this has pretty much gone now too although sometimes it creeps in around the time of my period. i know exactly how you feel now i promise you i have been there. at my worst i lost 34lbs, i could not eat and i slept for about 45 mins a night,i would doze off then wake up again and be awake all night,my limbs would shake and twitch uncontrolably,i had hightmare type visions and terrible negative thoughts,i was scared i was going to hurt someone and have to be put in an institution,i was afraid to touch my children incase the horrible things in my head came true, i was sure that if i left my house i would be attacked or raped and was also positive that i would have a major panic attack and die. my eyesight grew bad,my head was foggy,i could not think or concentrate on anything. in short i was having at least a dozen panick attacks a day,i would wake up in the morning and within seconds i was hit by such extreme feelings of fear that i would physically shake and cry......fast forward 6 months........ i can go out,i can play with my children,i take each day as it comes,i am no longer afraid to be by myself and i do not panic about every ache, pain and weird feeling, when my heart races for no reason, i let it,i know it will not hurt me. i took yasmin for 1.5 years so it will take me longer to recover than some ladies here who only took it for a short while but i know i will get better,if i look after my body and my mind i will make a full recovery and hopefully be better than i was before as i have learnt some valuable lessons through all this,i will never take my "boring" life for granted again,i am determined to savour every moment that i am on this earth for. i promise you that you will feel that way again. it has been posted on this site many times about taking the right vitamins to help you recover,it is honestly the best thing you can do. keep yourself distracted always, wash dishes, sing & dance, call your daughter or your friends, watch a funny movie or read a book. go out and do some gardening, count to one hundred,do anything but keep your mind busy,if it is concentrating on something else it is too busy to remember to feel afraid.
sorry for the long post, i really hope that my story will help you see that there are other women who have felt that they are all alone and no-ne can really know how bad it is. i promise i know how bad it is. i looked into anxiety a lot and read a lot of books and bought a lot of programmes to help me. i will try to help you as much as i can if you would like my help. and for all of you other ladies that may need some advice on how to deal with anxiety here is my email address.
******. if i can help i will. we all have to support each other as the medical proffesion is zero help!

I'm not sure if these are from Yasmin...it's so hard to tell. And the weirdest thing, is that my problems have been lately--it is currently July and I started Yasmin in December.
GOOD THINGS:
1) birth control, worry free sex lol.
2) slightly bigger boobies
3) no weight gain
4) regular periods.
----------------------------------------------------
Problems as of last few months:
1) i dont get horny much...
2) sometimes it's hard for me to get wet, ESPECIALLY at first, which is probably the cause of the above.
3) occasional weird feeling during sex...not pain, but a mild dull, might be pain kind of thing.
4) didn't really improve acne...
-----------------------------------------------------
The last few days I've had really, really badlower abdominal cramping--not specifically one on side or the other.....anyone else have this (and it's been 6 months after starting pill ).
What the hell1!?!?! anyone having these same problems?
Thank you all so much for sharing....as someone said above, it's so nice to read some of that stuff, and be relieved to see that at least we might know the cause.

I'm on day 19 of this pill and it's been a crazy ride so far. Some info on why I'm on it and what it's been doing to me thus far:
I've been like clockwork with my menses from after I finished puberty till now... about 10 years total.
I'm 33 and not sexually active.
I missed my menses after a very prolonged stressful month and then proceeded to bleed for 17 days a month later.
I had an ultrasound and the results showed a 4 cm cyst on one of my ovaries, it being unique in that it's a cyst inside of a cyst.
After these results my GYN (as assigned to me by my HMO primary care doctor) suggested I go on the pill for 3 months to stop any more ovulation then do a second ultrasound to see what the current cysts state will be.
I am predisposed to migraines since I was 7 years old, so this was my only concern in taking this type of medication.
So far I've had 2 major migraines which I've toughed out at work.
The second of the two, yesterday, Day 18, was accompanied with feelings of high intolerance, anxiety, anger, panic (that this crap was happening), and this weird feeling of knowing who I am normally, but not being able to grasp any of my normal behaviors.
To my S.O.'s credit, he says this is what I'm like when I'm PMSing.
I really hope that this doesn't mess with my overall chemistry, as it's taken me a long time to get to know me and to start all over is not something I want to have to go through again.

The 1st day I started Lisinopril, I felt light-headed and shaky (about an hour or two after taking it). This weird feeling lasted less than 4 hours or so, then felt fine and haven't had a problem in 3 weeks. It lowered my blood pressure by the next day and has remained lower ever since. I am very pleased with the results. In the last year I have tried: Atenolol and Atacand HCT with no results. I had my son try Lisinopril and he had the same 'light-headed' experience the 1st day also. He was on Toprol Xl. He also has good results with Lisinopril (which is a generic - $5.00 vs $15.00) and no other side effects - just more money in our pockets and lower blood pressure.

I've been on a lower dose of Wellbutrin XL in combination with Zoloft. Stopped taking Zoloft and upped my dose of WB to 300mg and then to 450mg. I felt good w/no side effects on the 300mg. I'm not sure if it was the WB, but after a couple weeks at 450mg, my head started to feel really weird. Not dizzy, not a headache, just feeling like I need to shake my head to clear it. I dropped back to 300mg and it's been a few days, but I've still got the weird feeling. Can't really focus. Anyone else have this feeling?? I don't know how to describe it other than maybe a head full of cotton balls.
