I went for a physical in about September of 2000 because i was going to go back in the gym and workout.... Doctor said i was very healthy but did prescribe Levaquin for a small amout of Fluid on one lung he said showed up on an Xray... I think i took two maybe 3 of them but was sick the next day... He worked with me for the next 4 months trying to figure out what happend. Then i finally had to go to a specialist/Rheumatologist becuse i was loosing weight, tired and very tired, no appetite, sleepy etc... finally i was diagosied with Lupus Myositis (not sure about some of the spelling). Anyway i have been battleing with this from Sept. 2000 until now... August of 2007... I do pretty decent most of the time but am tired alot and cant do the things i did before... I am now 45 years old...

I have had my Mirena since Jan 07. My periods are certainly much lighter however I am spotting in between. I am having cramping and nausea almost daily know for about a week and my lower back hurts as well. The nausea is what is really bothering me. I don't hear too many complaints about nausea. Is anyone else expierencing this?
Thanks.

My daughter is 9. She has taken Singulair for 4 years. She is a handful. Her nickname is Sassy. I do not like that nickname, but my extended family gave it to her and it stuck....I have taken her to counslers, who have considered she is bipolar, ADHD, OCD. I have looked at pictures of her, my journal entries and just thought of so many memories. I have found myself wondering what happend to my sweet preschooler. Why has she changed so much. Sadly, as I read these posts I realize the possible cause. Something that I trusted to help her all the years, has really done more harm than good. Now I have reached a point to find new answers.
Any suggestions on where to begin.

i am a highschool student and have been taking geodon off and on for at least 6 months, i got BPD and have been on other stuff but this is the only one i will put up with, after being on it at least 6 months i still could not wake up in the morning, when i get up my eyes start rollin around the back of my head and i cant stay awake , i cant walk and i slur my words when i talk, at the most i was taking 20mg morning with 40mg riddlin and at night 20mg geodon, well i got pissed off at the side effects and stoped takin it in the morning. i read up on riddilin and i dont like it being narcodic so i stopped that since its summer and i can sleep a little later. long story short i thought i wasnt bipolar and had no problems this was a big mistake, a month after completly stopping geodon i relized all my close relashonships have been destroyed and blame it on not taking meds. one more thing i noticed though, if anyone gets very parinoid on geodon thats what happend to me and when i got off i wasnt parinoid, its now setting back in, i cant stay in my home alone. but anyways just thought id put my two cents in about that stuff its kinda put me through hell.

Well to be honest, I think some of bad things that have been said are WAY exaggerated. I have been on this drug for 6 yrs and yes I have gained a little weight but it really doesn't bother me because I have never felt better. This is the best drug that I have ever been on for depression. ALOT of what people have experienced with this drug and with trying to get taken off of it is all in their MIND. If you keep telling youself something, you will actually start to believe it. I was also specifically told NOT to quit COLD turkey because it can actually cause death because of the withdrawls, they can be very harmful. So people who do that are STUPID. I feel nothing for those who have done that and complain about what happend for the first few days they were off of it because if they were serious about trying to fix their problem, they would have done it the RIGHT WAY.

Terrible- They say these side effects are rare but: They happened to my dad. He had gotten his first injection of zometa at around 1:00pm. by the time 5:00pm came around he was suffering with sever chills, could not swallow, could not urinate and had severe leg cramps. It only got worse. by 9:oo pm. he was in the emergancy room of the hospital with sever leg pain, his whole body was shaking, not only that, but he didn't know where or who he was. He was having hallucinations. They quickly attached him to saline to flush out his body and gave him a foli so he can urinate. The next day (yesterday) I went to see him. He was lying there unable to communicate. All he did was sleep. He had no idea what was going on. He also had a low grade fever. It was absolutly horendous. I felt like I was looking at a completely different man.
Today He is much better the zometa seems to be flushing out of his system. He was able to eat breakfast and speak to us. He kept asking what happend to him.
The doctors will not admit that this was a side effect or a reaction. They said they didn't know what he had but seemed to think it was an infection. I know better. I saw him before he took the drug, and then again after.
All the side effects he experienced are rare, but they do exist. I know first hand. Don't let the doctors tell you different
