White discharge symptoms and conditions

I have had the mirena since May 2008. I have been really moody and i have acne that seems to not go away. I also have a discharge with an odor and i spot quite often. It's really weird because it's a thick and sometimes clear or white discharge that comes out. I cramp a lot also which i didn't do before. I am going to be getting this thing out pretty soon.

I'm only 18 and I've been using nuvaring off and on for a while.
I took it out the first time because it was making me gain weight, decrease in sex drive, anxiety attacks, painful sex and i had been crying for no reason. I feel so bad for my boyfriend because I'm just now realizing that my lack of sex drive and painful sex is most likely related to the nuvaring. We've both been confused for so long and he's been feeling so bad about himself thinking its his fault :(.

This is the 2nd week I've had it in since the first time i took it out months ago and I've gotten what seems to be a yeast infection...but like someone mentioned earlier, my yeast infection tests come back negative...as do std and sti tests.
This is my second time with yeast infection symptoms and im only 18...
so, already that seems a little fishy (no pun intended).
Ive also been tested twice for all stds and sti's both times negative.

My doctor and mother don't believe any of this has anything to do with the nuvaring and tell me that i shouldn't believe what i read on the internet because most of what im reading is "rare"..but i believe it and i believe its happening to me.

I am curious as to know if anyone else has experienced the same problems I seem to be experiencing now. I got my Mirena inserted Oct 28, 08 and bled heavily for 3 weeks. Since then I have had spotting every now and then but no period. I have cramps all the time and it feels sort of like being prego but I am not. I also have discharge all the time and it started after I got Mirena put in. I am trying to remain optimistic about this because I want it to work, will someone please give me some advice as to what I should do?

My doctor insist everything is normal with my Mirena- I'm in no pain, but I get these annoying periods that last two-three weeks, and they're barely there. Light enough to make me wear a light tampon, then BAM, major flow. n and off I'm having weird white discharge- like a lood clot only white. I thought I had an infection, but the doctor did cultures and said I'm fine. She sad they're most likely harmless systs. :-/ OH, and I am leaking colostrum like when I was prego- but I'm not prego.

I started Yasmin 9 weeks ago and within the first week I noticed lower sex drive and vaginal dryness. I have been on lots of different contraceptives such as ortho tri cyclen, alessa, ortho cyclen and even depo provera, I have always had these same side affects. I now have a dull headache almost every day. My biggest problem lately is within a few days after my period I experience extreme vaginal discomfort- itchy, painful and a white discharge. Last month I had a yeast infection after my period and I think its happening again. My menstrual cramps are almost non existent but I have had some mood swings but they are not as bad as when I was on other pills. We all should know that all medicine have side effects and the pills side effects are stated very clearly in the book you get with them. I know everyone feels the it won't happen to them but all medications have side effects and some unfortunately are way more severe then others, but there are obviously millions of women that love this pill. If you are having any of these horrible side effects, be your own health advocate and talk to your doctor and get off this pill immediately, so you can avoid any of these incredibly sad experiences. I am pretty sure that all birth control has uncomfortable side effects, I think that it is all trial and error until you find the one that is right for you or just use the old fashion method of counting your days and taking precautions around the time of ovulation.

Ive been on the nuvaring for about four months and for three of those months everything was fine. my doctor told me that i could leave it in for 3 weeks and have a period for a week or three weeks and change to a new ring. well being that most women hate periods, i decided not to have one four four months. But now i am having this weird brown discharge(no smell) and i have had reoccurring yeast infections (white discharge, itching, burning). this skin around my vagina was raw for a week or so. gross i know. can anybody tell me whats up with this. i have been overly emotional because i thought something was wrong with me. is it?

i had mine since 2004 and I thought it was great, I haven't had a period for over 3 yrs. just the pms , after insertion i had the cramping and then my light period went away completely but now in 2008 still now period but a spot that represents my periods and added to my fake periods yeast infections every month for four months now, i went to my doc a 3rd time and he said im having hormonal imbalance that might be causing the yeast infections and it might clear up on its own the 3rd one did clear up in about a week and half so this month guess what i had another yeast infection which makes 4 , so i have a appt me with my reg doc . besides the yeast infections, i have a white discharge , depression, fatigue .

Eureka! My unexplained weight gain (10 lbs), moodiness, fatigue, acne, excessive white discharge, recurrent yeast infections, and clumpy periods are no longer such an enigma. I previously had some horrendous side effects from Depo Provera, to include severe depression, suicidal thoughts, and hair loss; I thought NuvaRing would work great for me due to the low dose of hormones. At first, the ring was fantastic....didn't have to remember to take a pill everyday and no downward spiral of depression. The first symptom I noticed was the excessive discharge and the clumpy periods. Next was the moodiness, anxiety, and bouts of crying during every week 3 (that the bf has patiently put up with!). I have been trying to ignore the fact that my jeans don't fit, I have turned into a TV watching zombie, and I have a burning sensation associated with my 2nd yeast infection in 3 months (ugh!!!!). I wish I would have found this website earlier; it would have helped me put two and two together, acknowledge the side effects, and quit the Ring much earlier (not 11 months later!). Yes, each woman's body reacts differently to hormonal birth control, but if you have undesirable side effects from the Pill or Depo, you'll most likely get them from the Ring plus a few fun extra ones:) The upside to this product: it is incredibly convenient and my small breasts filled out. So not worth it to me!!!!!

I can identify with a lot of what people have posted here and glad I am not alone. I have been on and off NuvaRing for a few years now but this last time on it (about 8 months now) I have gained a significant amount of weight. I was a little bit heavy to begin with but I think the NuvaRing made it much worse and also harder to lose weight. I started working out in January as well as dieting and have been unable to lose even a pound. I finally went to the doctor and had some blood tests. My thyroid tests came back abnormal and when I saw an endocrinologist she attributed it to the birth control. I am also constantly tired. I have a white discharge all month long and barely get my period yet I feel like I have PMS all month long.

Right now, I'm in shock of all the reviews because I started the Nuvaring 08/17. By 08/19 when I checked the ring..a glump of white discharge came out. I thought then.. wow it's really starting to protect me. By 08/21 I had irritation down their and called the doctor...which was yeast infection. I ignored and took the medicine and thought maybe my body just trying to get used to it. By a week later... I was a walking nightmare. I would be mad at the world. I had all the systems of pregnancy. Breast tenderness, nausea 4 times a day, constant eating. I had lost 68 lbs in a year before I got on this thing and due to this ring in me I gained 8 lbs. and that's with me lifting weights 4 times a week and cardio 11/2 - 2hours a day everyday ...although I was eating for possible 4 people. I constantly slept my days away. You would've thought I should had been the most well rested person after all the sleep I did. When I came to this site... and read everything....I immediately ran to the bathroom and ripped it out. After 1 1/2 weeks.. was enough for me to see what it could've done. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that typed a review because now... I don't have to walk around mad with the world. I'm sure when I walked out of stores and etc... people were calling me every name in the book due to my attitude and my co workers looking at me like...she's going to gain every bit of weight she lost if she keeps eating 3 separate meals just for breakfast not including lunch and dinner. I just wanted to say thank you for all of the posts you have put up. They are the only thing that have kept me sane in the last month. I have been on Yasmin for a year already and had almost no noticeable symptoms with the exception of shortness of breath from time to time. It did clear up my skin and increase my breast size as well.

It seems like every negative side effect of the drug has just hit me recently. It all started after my first pill of this pill pack with nausea and an odd tingling in my breasts, something that I have never experienced before. Then it progressed into the worst cramps I have ever felt that came on 1 1/2 weeks before my period was due to start, complete with lower back pain and a weird chunky white discharge. Then the dizzy spells started. I could hardly go to work. I felt I was in a fog the entire day. In addition to this all I was extremely depressed and had odd leg cramps.

The whole time I thought I was pregnant because I had never felt this way before and pregancy seemed like the only explanation. I went to the doctor and had a blood pregnancy test which came out negative. After reading this site one sleepless night, I found out it may actually be Yasmin that was causing me so much pain. When I called my gynecologist, and mentioned to her that I thought my symptoms might be from Yasmin, she told me I was crazy because no way would it start to affect me after a year of being on it.

Well, I am on my placebo pills now and I feel MUCH better. I am not sure what to do next. I do not want to go on and off birth control. I am thinking of trying something new, but am a little scared. I want to let you know that the symptoms may strike at any time regardless of the length of time you have been on the pill. Good luck everyone!

I was prescribed Doxycycline for any possible STD I could have contracted when I was raped 2 weeks ago. I have the horrible sunburn feeling, especially on my upper and lower extremites. Severe vaginal itching with a white discharge. Feverish, vomitting, shortness of breath. I am a college student with a very busy athletic schedule, but for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to even walk a mile without feeling faint.
