I haven't seen anyone mention this, but since I stopped using the ring my breast have been really sore. The skin of the areola is so sensitive sometimes that it sticks to the bra when I take it off and when I run my hand across it it feels like the skin is gonna come off. This has been going on for over 2 weeks.

Be careful, do your research before taking Topamax. I took Topamax for 5 weeks for severe migraines. The first 2 weeks were fine, a slight decrease in my appetite. The third week, my memory suddenly got really bad, really scary. By the 4th week, my memory was non-existant and I felt slightly depressed. My Dr. assured me these side effects would soon pass. By the 5th week of Topamax, I plunged into a horrendous, suicidal depression. I cried all the time, I woke at 4 am with irregular heart beats. I have never been so uncomfortable in my own skin. I became a stranger to myself.
I much prefer my migraines over the side effects I suffered from Topamax.

I am 20 years old and I've been on Yasmin for almost 2 years and off for about 2 weeks. Yasmin gave me an irregular heartbeat, vision problems, severe fatigue, muscle spasms and aching in my joints, and constant cramping in my lower tummy but these have started to slowly die down. My current side effects include severe allergies to foods (milk, wheat, tomatoes, eggs), antihistamines, and chemical sensitivities (perfume, soaps, detergents, cigarrette smoke). Also, I have been struggling to swallow food for 11 weeks now and found out that it may be a nuerological side effect from yasmin. The doctors where I am from don't seem to believe me and they all think I'm crazy so I just don't know how I am going to get help for this. One doctor even told me that I was doing this to myself and that I was anorexic. I'm obviously trying to get help or I wouldn't have been there asking him. I just wish I knew how long it takes to get back to normal or if I am ever going to be normal again.

I was diagnosed with bilateral ear infections and was prescribed 500mg Levaquin ( because I am allergic to most penicillin-based products) once a day for one week. On the fourth day I began to experience stiffness and pain in both feet, especially the heels, and also in my calves, and knees. I also had pain in my neck, at the base of my skull. These symptoms proceeded to worsen to the the point that I could barely walk on Sunday and had to go up and down stairs two feet at a time. I worked from home yesterday and took a Naproxen because the pain and stiffness was so debilitating. Today the symptoms have somewhat subsided, but I still feel stiff and can't walk or climb stairs very well. I was so deparate to figure out what was wrong with me and entered all search words that applied to my problem to Google. My search return included numerous sites connecting these symptoms with Levaquin. I found the PI and it is true. I have to say I feel better just knowing why this happened. I never suspected that the antibiotic was responsible. My question is this: has anyone else ever had this happen to them and what were you advised to do to "get back to normal"? I hope that these responses to the medication will go away now that I have finished the prescription. Please advise.

happy holidays ladies, and I wish you all the best for 2007.
I have felt better lately but still at certain times of the day I feel sad. I never did before yasmin.
There is good news for everyone though, your body renews itself in 11 months. So I'm a bit over three months without this pill, so I'm looking forward to getting better as time passes by.
My experience has been severe panic attacks that come and go, I have them for a few days and then a few days I'm okay then I don't have them for weeks, then something happens in my life to stress me out then they come back. I hate Yasmin so much and I can't believe the effect its had on me, and I wish I'd never taken it.
I'm working really hard to work out my anxiety, and now of course I'm worried, anxious, scared of having another attack because my family worries so much.
It's just I wish I knew how to stop being so sad overall, nothing in specific, just sad. It comes and goes but it is there.
Sorry to blabber on, but writing this out really helps me.
Good luck to everyone.
Claudia.

I was diagnosed with a kidney disease when I was 14, and was put on prednisone on and off for a few years. After being free and clear for four years, my kidney problem is back, and I am back on the prednisone, 60 mg a day for the past month. My doctor said I can wean myself off and go to about 40 mg a day for the next two weeks, but this is when I used to have relapses in my condition. I am looking for ward to getting off of the prednisone though, my face is so swolen, and I feel like I look like a bobble-head. My cheeks are so full, and I have the worst double-chin. At first, the prednisone gave me so much energy, which was fine with two kids at home, but now I am just irritable and tired. I am starting to gain weight in my stomach now too. This time of year is the worst too, because the prednisone reall effects my immune system. I have to worst cold, and I had to get a flu and pneumonia shot.
The worst part of the prednisone is the swollen face though. There is no way to hide your face. The weight gain in m stomach can be hidden with a bigger shirt, but I can't seem to hide the ound cheeks. I wish I knew how to apply my make-up to hide it, but I can't It's awful!

My daughter has asthma/allergies and takes Flonase, Flovent, and Albuterol as needed. Recently she started on Singulair, and she's been behaving horribly, saying mean things, yelling at us. And now she's started saying things like she wants to hurt herself, that she's stupid, that she doesn't like herself. Tonight I was giving her her dose of Singulair and my husband asked if maybe the medicine was causing her symptoms. I immediately wished I had not given her that dose, but it was too late. I came right to the computer and found this site. I'm so distressed reading about other people who are irritable and can't sleep, she hasn't been able to fall asleep easily the past several days, now I think I'm understanding why! I'm immediately stopping this medication. I just wish I knew how long it would take to get out of her system.

I recently posted a comment on May 19. I was guest #23321.
Since posting this comment, I have been to the emergency room two more times, unable to walk because of pain in both knees. I have told the doctors at the hospital about the levaquin and they acted as if I were crazy. Now they say that I have gout, which I really find that hard to believe. I have never had this problem before. This pain in my knees is so bad that I can hardly lift my legs. I sure wish I knew if there is any thing that I can do about it. I can't get anything out of these doctors. I just want the pain to go away. I have an appointment in July with an orthopedic Doctor, will it do any good?

I also wanted to express to anyone that ever wants to try this drug. At first, it worked great for me, and I never had to use my albuterol inhalor. Then, after about 3 weeks, I noticed the weight gain. I couldn't figure out why I was gaining weight, when I NEVER have had a weight problem. I am 39 years old and I have gained about 10-12 pounds in about 3 months. I constantly look pregnant. I cannot seem to get rid of the weight gain either. I work out every single day to fight off the water gain. Nothing I do seems to matter, I cannot get the weight off. I wish I knew what to do to get this drug out of my system. I stopped taking it when I called my Dr. on it.
Now, I have constant neck and arm pain everday. I have alot of headaches. I get sweat attacks, and then stay clammy. Shooting pains go down my arms midlength....every single day. I have never been in so much pain DAILY, as I am now. I can only pray that it will leave my system soon and I can feel better.

Oh my god, this drug is horrible, ive been taken it for three days for bronchitis, i woke up and couldn't tolerate any light, felt so confused i could barely do simple math, got a really bad "cold" burning sensation in my head ,eyes , arms. 24 hours later, which is now, im shaking uncrontrolably and hypervenalating, starting to think straighter though. I called the ER and they said stop it immidatly. this was the most horrible drug ive ever taken, i thought i had a serious brain problem till i found this site. I definantly wish i knew these effects were possible before i took this .

Started taking the generic Toprol XL (metoprolol succinate) 50 mg/day 11 days ago. I had been having vague gastric problems prior to taking it but two days after I started, I began having severe stomach pain that would double me over with diarrhea so severe it felt like my guts were turning inside out. I got a presciption from a doctor I work with for Lomotil which is a fairly heavy duty smooth muscle relaxor for the gut. As the week went on, I was taking these pills every 2-3 hours to keep the pain at bay. I was starting to pass some blood because this was so severe.
I've made an appointment with a GI doctor to have this checked out (couldn't get an appointment for 2 more weeks) and said to my boyfriend I wish I knew what was going on. He pointed out that this started right after I started taking the BP med. I skipped my pill yesterday and today....guess what? I am pain free today for the first time in a week.
I NEVER would have associated this kind of horrible pain with a blood pressure medication. It did bring my pressure down very nicely...in fact it's a bit too low now. Back to the internist next week to try something else out.
