I have had the Mirena for four months. I am 45 years old and finished having children. I cannot take the birth control pill because I'm a smoker. I talked with my physician about a tubal ligation versus Mirena. She actually recommended the tubal ligation but I was afraid of the general anesthesia. However, after the side effects I have experienced, I will be calling my physician soon to schedule a tubal ligation and have the Mirena removed. I have always been fortunate to have three, light days of a period each month. After the insertion of Mirena, I have 20 days or more a month of spotting which necessitates the wearing of a mini pad daily. I would rather have three days of light bleeding every 25-28 days than 20 days of pesky light spotting. Also, my knees are killing me. I feel like I'm 95 years old. I can hardly walk up and down steps without pain. This was not an issue prior to the insertion of Mirena. Within the last couple weeks, I've noticed an increase in acne. I have NEVER had acne problems so the three or four zits on my face now is very unusual and I can only attribute that to Mirena. I guess I need to overcome my fear of general anesthesia and get those tubes tied and end my birth control woes!

Anyone have peripheral neuropathy on Zocor? I had shooting pains down both arms for a few days one month into taking Zocor. This stopped but is replaced with intense muscle pain in arms, hands, shoulders and back - and recently hot flashes. I stopped taking the Zocor 3 days ago AMA (against medical advice) as my doc said the neuropathy is not a side effect of Zocor.

I had a raging head cold, something that resembled a brocheal infection and a low-grade fever.
I'm on day 4 right now and really don't feel much better. My head has hurt the whole time and my fever has not gone away. This is probably just a flu, which Zpak does not fix, but I got the script because it was quicker and easier than telling me to chill out for the next 10 days.
I wish I could blame my woes on Zpak. I can't. I think it's the nature of the virus that is using my bloodstream to swim laps in right now. Hopefully time will be my ally. If not, this is living hell.

I have been experiencing hoarseness. loss of voice as well as severe low back ache, hip ache anxiety and severe cramps in my calves at night. I have been going to back therapy the past month not making the connection to Advair and thinking it was more of my on going back problems. I stopped taking Advair 5 five days ago and many of the side effects either have gone away or have been subsiding noticeably. I thought this was a coincidence until today I began to read this forum and am really convinced at this point that the Advair has been playing a large role in my physical woes. On the downside, my asthma has become worse but I intend to ask my Dr. for a script for Asmanex when he returns to town....

I had my yearly OB appt. earlier this month. I had been on the pill before. She gave me free samples of Loestrin24. HORRIBLE! I never had any negative side effects with bc pill. With this one my sex drive is GONE. My mood swings are terrible. My appetite is gone because of my nausea and intestinal woes. Not only that I am having acne on my face, chest and back. I am 25 years old and I haven't gotten this type of acne in years. Ridiculous. I DO NOT recommend this pill to ANYONE!
