Ok...now I am really angry. I posted in early June. I am 7-8 weeks out from stopping the drug (only took for 2 weeks) and, while I feel better in the am, I continue to have "attacks" mostly at the end of the day after work or when going to sleep. I have minimal dry mouth/cough (keep drinking water/peeing constantly but ok because I am eating foods to dump water which is why doc wanted me on this poison to begin with). The feeling woozy and nausea has subsided. I continue to have racing heart (happens when about to fall asleep and causes anxiety/insomnia), sharp pains all over the chest and in left arm (constantly think I am having a heart attack/stroke), tingling/burning in hands/feet, and to top it off shooting warm burning pain (very annoying) up and down legs (this is new). My doc told me to get off all my supplements (because he knows nothing about them and thinks they are complicating the picture...now I think he is ignorant). I restarted my CoQ10 which is protective for the heart and the racing has stopped so far (been a few days). In my research, most of the symptoms fall under "peripheral neuropathy" which can be caused by toxicity from drugs. Natural treatments suggest making the body more alkaline and detoxing the organs by eating nutritious foods (organic when you can), exercise, drinking lots of water (with lemon and cucumber slices which make the body alkaline and purify the organs) and taking alpha lipoic acid. To treat the neuropathy make sure you are getting enough vitamin C, E, and B complex with B6, B12 and folate/folic acid (I take B100 caps). Please research these before taking anything and make sure its right for you. I used to say check with your doc but, in my experience, most don't know about natural treatments. I will post again in a week to let you guys know how its going. Best of luck to all.

For those of you taking this drug and want to get off, please know it takes 3-4 weeks (longer in others depending on your metabolism) to be "totally" out of your system. Don't think you'll feel better in a few days. Give it a least 6 weeks to show significant change in your symptoms. I know, my husband took this and was having mental sluggishness, depression, confusion which led to many other tests. He has been off the drug now since Sept 08 and off the anti-depressant too. Guess what...no depression has returned since being of this drug. He's back to an aspirin a day, what he took before this nightmare began. Anybody taking this drug should stop immediately. It's the drug from hell!

I have been getting the cortisone shots on and off for about a year now, basically, whenever my ankle flares up. I had one earlier today (or yesterday as it may be), and now here I am at 2:45 am, deathly tired, but with my mind so active I cannot sleep. I noticed the same thing after an injection a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe I never noticed it before. I have always had the woozy/loopy feeling afterward, afraid to drive home, but thankful I live less than a mile from the doctor's office. This is usually followed by a day of nausea and other side effects. It's weird, though. The websites with info on this drug don't talk about the nausea, the dizziness, the "feeling out of it", the headaches. Only that the pain is worse before it is better (definitely true!). But do the docs not know about this or are they just turning a blind eye? I keep reading that such side effects aren't possible because cortisone occurs naturally in the body. But the stuff they are injecting us with is not produced by ur bodies. It is synthetic, and being that we are not producing the dose naturally, it is very likely overload. So, how can there not be side effects?

Had injection 2 pm today immediately had head spins like I was off my face (I am a 45 yo mum so no drugs here) heart racing very dizzy and hearing was distorted. Told doctor he was not concerned. I have had injections before and have experienced the burning skin sensation rashes and tummy aches and cramps. I try to hold off for months on getting another but the pain in my shoulder is so bad I have to eventually. ATM my shoulder pain has intensified 10 fold although eventually I will be pain free in a week or so this should last up to 3 months. I will be able to sleep better which I desperately need as I shift work and have a young family.

I just looked at this site to see what side effects people are experiencing with this medication. Here is my experience: I went to see my ENT doctor-this is a great practice and I still have full confidence in their abilities despite what happened to me. I have been having trouble with lots of sinus headaches, and my tonsils becoming infected. However, I have severe hay fever type allergies so most of the time I put up with my symptoms and they go away. However, I knew that I probably needed an antibiotic because my symptoms were getting worse and I had caught a flu-cold thing on top of it. When I went to the ENT she said she thinks that my tonsils may need to come out and prescribed 10 days of Avelox along with a sinus rinse (saline only) she was concerned because I am allergic to a lot of antibiotics (mostly I get hives) so she gave me Avelox. I did not read the side effects before taking it. The reason being I get nervous taking antibiotics as it is because of my allergies and tend to freak myself out. So I just read the part about drinking lots of water, no vitamins,etc.. Even though I had a cold-flu thing I did not take my Allegra or even Tylenol to ease my other symptoms and no vitamins (which I usually take) I only took the Avelox. I also chose to take it at night because on the bottle it warned of dizziness or drowsiness. I have small children to take care of so I couldn't be dizzy during the day! The first night I took it around 10:00-I had trouble falling asleep, felt kind of woozy and high. However, I didn't worry about it cause I knew it could happen. I fell asleep and woke in the night feeling totally freaked out. I kept thinking someone was going to break in the house, I felt really scared for no reason. I wanted to wake up my husband so bad but I didn't because he had the flu and needed some rest. After that I kept drifting in and out of sleep and my mouth kept watering and watering. The next morning I told him to go in the bathroom and read the side effects to HIMSELF-I only wanted to know if what I mentioned was in there. He said yes. I continued to take the drug the next night-this time I felt lots better like my infection was clearing and the woozy feeling was less than the night before which made me happy. But again during the night I felt freaked out and had trouble sleeping all night. The next day I got diarrhea. Again, I figured minor side effects, I need to stick with this and clear up my infection. I took the pill for 5 nights. There were several times during the day that I weird pains (but not super painful-more annoying) a pain in my thumb, my hand, my shoulder, my calf. It was only here or there-not too big of a deal but I thought it was weird. Then I had something happen with my daughter (a family type emergency) which led to lots of crying and drama the entire day. That night I took the drug again (This was actually last night-the 5th time taking it) Again, trouble sleeping but better than the nights before. I woke at 6 this morning to get my daughter ready for school and as soon as I got out of bed I almost fell down. My legs and arms felt SO heavy I can't even describe it. I could barely make it across the room, then the dizziness hit and I started to feel really bad, I started to black out. I laid down on the floor and started sweating, felt like a cold feeling through my body and then my body started going numb. At first I thought "Oh god, I am having an anxiety attack of some kind from all the stress the day before." but it just got worse and worse, I felt like I was having trouble breathing and swallowing. The worst part was if I even tried to LIFT my head off the floor I started to black out (my vision was closing around me and my ears were ringing like crazy) then my mind went crazy-am I having a heart attack (no it couldn't be I am 39!) then the weirdest thing happend my thumbs felt like the muscles were cramping and being drawn into the palms of my hands uncontrollably. That is when I started freaking out. I was yelling-my husband had to leap out of the shower.I kept telling him, something is really wrong get me to the hospital. At one point told him to call 911. I seriously thought "this might be it, the end and I am gonna die here cause my stupid husband keeps rubbing me and trying to calm me down instead of calling 911!" Then I think he got freaked out because it just wouldn't stop and every time he tried to lift me up slightly I would start to faint. Finally, the blacking out thing eased enough he could sit me up, then I finally worked me into standing. He got me to the car and we decided to go to the urgent care versus the ER. They turned us away and told us to go to my doctor because of the antibiotic They said they would see me if I wanted but they really thought I should see her because the antibiotic is really strong and could be the problem. I thought they were crazy and I got really pissed off thinking "What the hell? I could be dying here and they want me to see my freaking ENT?!" My husband talked me into leaving because my ENT was in the next door building. Their office was just opening. They took my blood pressure, it was good, my pulse was good, they checked my ear pressure to see if it had to do with the dizziness and I argued my ears are fine! This is different from dizziness I had from past ear infections I was almost blacking out! But, alas one of my ears was off, and had inflammation. Then they gave me a steroid shot. They said that my infection looked gone in my tonsils but they are still concerned about my sinuses and what is going on there. I have to have a CT scan next week. They said they felt what happened to me was a combo of my ear swelling and a reaction to the antibiotic. They did not give me another antibiotic because they said 5 days was sufficient time to kill the infection. I came home today and tried to rest but it was hard because I had the kids. All day it was an effort to move or walk but thank god the other symptoms were going away. Now it is about 11:30 at night, I can't sleep and I was lying here freaking out about my legs being so screwed up. I have stairs and it is all I can do to walk up or down them. I started thinking the doctor may be nuts and that something really horrible is wrong with me (can you say paranoid?!) so I got on my lap top while my husband is asleep next to me. I found this site. Thank god. Now I can calm down and try to get some sleep! I am not dying of some freaky ailment-it IS the Avelox making me feel this way. While mentally I feel so much better and I am going to stop writing this book-I am still pretty concerned about how long the side effects with my legs are going to last. I am also a little freaked about going to the gym even after I do feel better. I will try to write later to let everyone know when my legs get back to normal. If anyone is experiencing the same symptoms I did. Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away. I felt so stupid complaining about all this weird stuff-my husband acted like I might be a little nuts! Now I know its the meds!! :)

Was prescribed this 9 days ago for a sinus infection. Last night (the 9th day) I was getting ready for bed and noticed a rash on my arm. I then noticed that it was on my other arm...and then saw it on my legs, chest, abdomen, back, etc. Basically everywhere except my face (though today it has shown up slightly on my face). After noticing the rash, I took some Benadryl and went to bed. About 30 minutes later I woke up suddenly--I felt a bit woozy and dizzy. Suddenly, my legs started jerking, my body was shaking, teeth chattering etc. My husband called the doc on call, who said that the rash was definitely due to the antibiotic, and that the dizziness/lightheadedness was most likely a reaction to the Benadryl. She said the rash would probably last about 3 days, and that as long as my breathing stayed fine and my lips/tongue didn't start to tingle, I would be OK. It has now been almost 24 hours; the rash is still there and I have had chills off and on throughout the day. The doc called to check on me a few minutes ago, and told me if the rash is not improving by tomorrow (Monday), to come in to the office. She explained that she was a bit concerned that the dizziness might be low blood pressure resulting from the reaction to the sulfamethoxazole, and that it could make a person very sick. She wasn't as concerned since I hadn't experienced the dizziness again since. Scary!

Against my better judgment, I received my first shot in Oct 07 and my second in March 08. I will absolutely will not get the third. I was suspicious of the vaccine, but was convinced by my doctor to get it. I should have listened to my gut. Within two weeks of receiving the first shot, I experienced flu-like symptoms, fever, and such severe vaginal discomfort that I went to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. It cleared up, but my health felt off - worse digestion, I started getting heartburn, feeling fatigue, started seeing floaters in my vision and getting terrible headaches, and my menstrual cycle started becoming more irregular. I had always been like clockwork. I started losing weight, which was unusual, as I had always been overweight and had a hard time losing weight. I began feeling more and more irritable, but made no connections to the Guardasil shot. In March, immediately after receiving the second vaccine, my arm hurt terribly, I felt lightheaded, woozy, and had hives appear. Within 1 week, I started experiencing vaginal irritation again, fever, and had flu like symptoms. Over the course of the next month, I started to feel such severe fatigue, stomach aches, and uncontrollable diarrhea, that I went to my doctor. She told me I probably just had acid reflux. Two days later, I experience debilitating stomach pain, which lasted for nearly 1 month. I had an endoscopy, a CT scan, allergy tests, and blood work for thyroid disorders and other imbalances, all of which have come back reasonably normal and regular for my body and system. I did have some esophageal damage from acid reflux, and was put on Prevacid. Receiving no answers from the Western Medical community, I cut out gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, yeasts, and sugar from my diet and started working with an acupuncturist and naturopath. Stool sampling showed signs of Candida Yeast overgrowth in my intestines and parasites, which I am combating naturally with help from my naturopath. I a got off the Prevacid successfully with her help, and am starting to feel stronger. However, since January, I have lost 50 lbs, have experienced hair loss, fatigue, eye itchiness, emotional upset, headaches, joint pain, tingling/numbness in hands and feet, lower body temperature, disruption in my sleep, decreased strength, muscle loss, continued gastrointestinal pain, alternating diarrhea/constipation, persistent Bacterial Vaginosis, and have not had my period since I received the second shot in March. While I do feel I am becoming stronger, this road is long and the journey is slow. My health is not what it used to be, my diet is restrictive, and I am taking multiple herbal and natural supplements, vitamins, and probiotics. The appearance of overall, chronic symptoms with the timing of the Guardasil shots makes me believe that I, like so many other women, am a victim of Guardasil. Don't get this vaccine.

ive been on Lisinopril 20mg for about years. Apart from the cough have felt ok - until recently. Then I noticed about 1 hour after taking the tablet I became terribly dizzy and light headed. Very hot and my heart racing and palpating. Told Doc but she said to continue taking tablet. I stopped it a few days later and felt a little better. Told Doc what I'd done and she said she'd put me on a 24hr BP Monitor. This proved my BP was so very low she then put me on 10mg Lisinopril. Again (my idea) I stopped the 20mg for 3 days (I thought it would get out of my system) then for 3 days took the 10mg. Disaster! Thought I was going to pass out with heart racing again and again, very hot and frightened. Thought I was dying. Doc then decided to take me off the tablets altogether - that was 4 days ago. She put me on a Beta Blocker to lower my heart rate and now I'm slightly better. But still get very hot and bit woozy in the head. My BP is normal, but just wonder how long this drug stays in your body and when will I ever return to normal. Thanks for all your comments. Good Luck everyone.

I have been on 10mg prednisone, starting with 60 mg/day down to 20 mg/day for a month. At first I felt wonderful because my back was out and this took away the pain. However, now that I'm at the end of the regimen, I have started to experience the following: My entire mouth (lips, tongue, throat, inside of cheeks) feels almost numb--kind of like it's coated with wax. It's a VERY disturbing feeling. A few times I thought I was going to choke because it's also accompanied by extreme dry mouth. I am also developing a moon face, and have gained 5 pounds in the last 3 days. I am jittery and woozy feeling. I have finished taking it, and now I wonder how long it will be before I am "normal" again--or if there's anything I can take or do to help speed the recovery.

WOW, this sounds so similar to my symptoms. My ailment started out as a sore throat, then progressed to a headache then an awful nagging cough. I went to my doctor and he checked me out, my blood pressure was a bit elevated but my urine and my lungs were clear. I was running a low grade fever but nothing serious. He said it was probably just from post-nasal drip. He gave me Levaquin anyway in case I did have some kind of infection. The first day I took it...3 days ago....I felt like I had literally been beaten to death, it hurt to walk and I felt numb allover, that night I couldn't sleep, I kept having crazy thoughts and my legs were going wild and throbbing with pain. I finally managed to get to sleep but woke up drenched in sweat, my clothes and my side of the bed was as if someone had poured water on me. I have never in all my 40 years ever sweated like that. I am overwhelmed with hot flashes, even when I'm in an air conditioned place I feel like I'm on fire. I tried to go out shopping yesterday and it wore me out just walking from the car to the store. I mean I am a normal otherwise healthy 40 yr old woman here and shopping to me is the best fun in the world, but I was just too weak to even walk around in the store without leaning on the cart. I had my husband rub me down with Ben Gay last night and when he went over a spot in the middle of my back towards the right side...right under my bra strap it felt like I had been either shot or stabbed there...I actually screamed out when he just rubbed over it . I began feeling nauseas yesterday Still am today, even threw up this morning. I am taking myself off of this drug right now...too bad I did not read these posts until after I had already taken my dose today. So no more for me.
Update: June 16th, 2007 3:26pm I got up this morning a bit woozy and soaking wet with sweat again...but I refused to take another Levaquin. I went to help my husband paint our church house and felt great all day...no more leg pain but still hot flashes though. No more fatigue either. I just wish we all could get a settlement from this dangerous drug that should have been taken off the market a long time ago.

I took my first (and only) dose of Omnicef 4 days ago for a sinus infection and have not stopped having tummy problems. The smell or even thought of food makes me want to vomit, I have constant non-stop diarrhea. I feel woozy and sweaty and like I am going to faint. I'm very thirsty and tired. My stomach is contantly rubmling and cramping and feels gassy but is much much worse. This prescription cost so much and only caused me more pain and trouble. Pepto-Bismol has not helped. PLEASE REFUSE TO TAKE OMNICEF IF YOUR DR. PRESCRIBES. I'd take a sinus infection over this any day. It terrifies me to think this is being prescribed for children...I am 34 and can not image what it must be like for a little one to have to go through this. I am going to find out what I can do NATURALLY to fix my stomach problems and take care of my sinus infection. Monday I'll look for a NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIAN to consult with in the future! P.S. The person who recommended taking a PROBIOTIC was right. I am going to begin taking ACIDOPHILUS.

OK, I'm back. Day 19 now. I called my doctor yesterday because I am beginning to feel woozy, dizzy and exhausted, I presume from loss of blood. I was told to go to Urgent Care immediately, which I did. When I told that dr. that I believed my extended bleeding was from kenalog, he laughed and said he didn't think so. "Kenalog wouldn't do that". HA. He said it sounds like I am having a miscarriage, (which is impossible lest it be from divine conception.) I said it couldn't be, he said, "Are you sure?", as if I would'nt know. I though doctors were supposed to be smart. I now have to take provera (progestorone) for the next 10 days to "reset" my cycle. Needless to say, I am pissed.

27 yo male. Never take any drugs if I can help it. I was perscribed doxy for a bacterial infection. 2 days into it all my symptoms are gone and I'm still taking it like you're supposed to with antibotics.

Tonight at school, all of a sudden the room starts spinning. My heart starts beating wildly and I'm feeling nasueaous. I was scared half to death. I excused myself from class and called the doc who said that this is typical of this antibotic and to stop taking it. We'll I'm home now and still feeling very woozy. Other sypmtoms are: hot flash in back of neck, teeth clenching, rush of nasuea, then feeling of being tired. This is all similar to "rolling" on X, but without the good feelings.

Also, for those of you with stomach probs, the paperwork that comes with the drug says you should not lay down for 30 mins after taking because of the erosion of the esophagous.

I started taking geodon on yesterday. I was cooking dinner and I suddenly became very dizzy and started to stagger like a drunk. My doctor prescribed me 160mg per day. I'm currently looking for work, and I receive a call from a employer, and I could not collect my thoughts to have a decent conversation with her. I was truly out of focus. I've been sleeping all day. I feel terrible, like a person with a bad hangover. My head is woozy and I have no appetite. Please discontinue this medication... Thanks.

I started taking it for the first time yesterday...I was prescribed a dose of Geodon, twice a day...I took it yesterday at 5pm, and about an hour later, was feeling dizzy and COULD NOT KEEP MY EYES OPEN. I slept all night, and it's 9 am now and I still feel woozy. I'm going to call my doctor and find out if I can change this medicine...I was prescribed this in addition to 20mgs of Celexa twice a day for depression...is Geodon even a depression medication!?!

I have been hypothyroid for 8 years. I was taking generic levothyroxine SOD for years, and had no extreme problems. However, they switched me to levoxyl about 4 months ago and it has been bad ever since. Stomach problems, very tired, can't sleep well, hard to function, and woozy in my head all of the time. I quit taking it for a couple of days and I felt somewhat normal again. I do not know what is in levoxyl that is different, but I am going back on just generic levothyroxine SOD.

500 mg, 4/day. Unlike most of the posts, I have not had loose bowels. However, I am terribly woozy, almost to the point where I'm afraid to drive. I have little to no energy and headaches, but I have just caught a cold so I'm sure that is a factor. I was prescribed this for a cyst in my armpit.

I took the prescribed dosage of Ultracet (2 caplets every 6 hrs as needed for pain) on Friday afternoon. It was prescribed for an injury to my wrist that resulted in prolonged swelling and pain. I took it on an empty stomach because the directions said it would make no difference and would speed absorption. About 30 minutes later I ate. Big mistake. I had severe nausea and a dizzy, woozy feeling. I did vomit but must have retained enough of the drug as I was still groggy 8 hours later. I rode it out all night and did not take the recommended dosage after 6 hours. No pain though. I decided the dosage was too much for me and took one pill, with food, the next morning. I spent all day in the recliner, fading in and out, and letting the Movie Channel watch me! The Ultracet relieved my pain...I think. I certainly did not have the intense pain I had suffered but I also lost my ability to function. I stopped taking the medication. There is no way I could drive or work while taking Ultracet. I had enough trouble navigating the hallway.
