I have been using the Ring for about 2 years now. I did gain a total of about 20 pounds since I am on it. Just figured that comes with age. I do suffer with migranes monthly. I have gone to ENT for my sinsus, thinking it was that so they wanted me to have sinus surgery but I cancelled. I went to the TMJ specilalist thinking it's from that. All they did was give a splint. My Doctor then decided lets try Imitrex. It worked wonders. I live on that stuff. Well I use it so often that I really cant afford to keep refilling my prescription. So now I just seen a neurologist. He put me on Topamax to try to stop the headaches before coming on well the side effects from the Topamax were just as bad as the migranes. Well rigth about now I am having a nervous breakdown. Where do I go from here every doctor thinks I'm crazy. So I get online thinking where do I begin so I start with NuvaRing side effects. I go to this site and start reading and all my symptons are the same as all these on here. I have the weight gain, migranes, I am actually on Zoloft so I can't say I am moody. I also have microscopic blood in my urine that we are trying to figure out where that is coming from. Hopefully the NR and nothing serious. I will let ya'll Know!!!! I am sooo glad I read about all of this. Even though my doctor says that it's not the NR. I will prove him wrong!!!!!!

I started taking advair in September of 2006 after being diagnosed with allergy related asthma. I took it for 3 months. Then stopped for a few months over the winter and restarted in spring because of more serious symptoms of asthma. I have had severe stomach upset, acid reflex, rashes, and weight gain. I also feel dizzy a lot. I am very health consious and work out all of the time. I never gain weight so it seems obvious to me advair is the culprit. I am going to try getting allergy shots and see if I can stay off the advair. In home air filters do seem to help with the asthma

Hello.
I have been taking topamax for bipolar II disorder. The first week or so, I experienced some very unpleasant side effects. I would become very disoriented while driving and get lost in locations that had previously been very familiar to me. I would also lose track of my thought process mid-sentence. An avid runner, I was unable to exercise for about a week. However, these side-effects have since subsided. I do experience a decrease in appetite, which is fine for now, but I'll have to see how that pans out in the future.
One thing I'd like to point out is that I would imagine topamax to be very unpleasant for somebody who does not have a mood disorder. I feel that it truely restrains my impulses (I suffer from impulse control disorder), and it has worked wonders for me in terms of my mental illness. I believe that topamax is a great alternative to some of the other medications for bipolar disorder in terms of weight gain. On the other hand, I think that those who do not require psychiatric attention would be better off with a drug that does not serve as a mood stabilizer.
That's just my opinion. Good luck!

Due to renal transplant (Kidney) I have to be real careful of what types of antibiotics I take. I took my prescription to the pharmacy. The pharmacist at Walgreens stated it had a major drug interaction with my anti-rejection medication. After working with the doctor they prescribed Sulfameth. It worked wonders. I did feel some sadness and was alittle irritable but that outwayed taking the chance that the upper respirtory infection damaged my kidneys and increased my creatnine to where I would be back on dialysis. so a little discomfort for me helped maintain my way of life and that is living my life to fullest and not becoming or behaving like a victim.

I WAS PRESCRIBED THIS MEDICATION FOR A SEVERE SINUS INFECTION (POSSIBLY BACTERIAL) THAT KEFLEX 500 MGS HAD NOT RESPONDED TO. AFTER READING THE HORROR STORIES RELATED TO THIS MEDICATION, I WAS SKEPTICAL TO TAKE MY FIRST DOSE, BUT I DID. I AM NOW ON MY 4TH DAY OF 7 AND AM AMAZED AT HOW MUCH BETTER I FEEL AND HOW QUICKLY IT WORKED. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT I HAD WAS A SEVERE HEADACHE WHICH LASTED ABOUT 4 MINUTES (TO WHERE I THOUGHT I WOULD PASS OUT), WHILE STRAINING. AFTER THE 4 MINUTES OF PAIN, I HAVE HAD NO OTHER SIDE EFFECTS. IT WORKED WONDERS FOR ME!

Its amazing how you people blame a 7 year old crying on Singulair, or claim it causes joint pain. what B.S.
I;ve been taking it and my asthma has almost ceased to exist. i don't even need my inhaler, not even during exercise. it's worked wonders.

I HAD BEEN ON 80MGS. OF PREDNISONE FOR TREATMENT OF SEVERE SORIASIS. IT WORKED WONDERS FOR THE SKIN CONDITION. , I WAS SPEEDING MY BRAINS OUT , AND GOING 100 MILES PER HOUR. IT WAS SOMEWHAT EUPHORIC. I AM 45 YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN IN MENOPAUSE SINCE MY LAST CHILD WAS BORN 5 YEARS AGO. AFTER I TAPERED OFF THE PREDNISONE OVER A MONTH PERIOD... I STARTED TO HEMMORAGE. I HAD UNCONTROLLABLE VAGINAL BLEEDING, BLOATING , PAIN, MOOD SWINGS, DEPRESSION, ETC. THE BLEEDING DID FINALLY SUBSIDE AFTER BEING OFF THE DRUG FOR 10 DAYS. HOWEVER , NOW THE SKIN IS DETERIORATING, AND THE JOINT PAIN IS EXCRUCIATING. I CAN BARELY WALK. I AM A DANCE TEACHER, AND THIS IS BECOMING DEBILITATING. I ALSO HAVE A CANCER HISTORY, AND THYROID DISEASE. IT WAS AND IS ROUGH. I GUESS I HAVE A CHOICE BETWEEN HAVING HORRID, DISGUSTING SKIN ( AND UNABLE TO GET A PUBLIC JOB) AND BEING EMBARRASSED ALL THE TIME AND DEALING WITH THE VERY DIFFICULT SIDE AFFECTS OF THIS MEDICATION. I AM HOPING FOR A BETTER ALTERNATIVE. THE SUFFERRING IS UNBEARABLE. LIBBY B.

I had a Kenalog shot for poison ivy..my Dr. never told me what I was getting or the side effects...it worked wonders for the poison ivy, but 2 weeks later on day 20 of my cycle I started spotting...and turned into lots more..I ended up going to my OBGYN and fortunately I took my bill of $110 along in to show her what I had been injected with. As soon as she saw Kenalog..she said that's what is doing all this ..I came home and found this website and I was shocked to see how similar my story is to many of these..I never would have taken this had I known the side effects..I am now still bleeding heavily after 18 days..will it never end? What have you done for relief? I feel sluggish all the time..no energy...and I have 4 children 12 and under to see after! Please if someone can help me...email me at ******. Thanks

hi, my daughter has been off yasmin for 3 weeks today, she was diagnosed with depression earlier this year. I thought for a long time that it could be the pill but doctors assured us that yasmine was a great pill.
She has felt that she has had depression for 2 years, so i dont know if it was just yasmine causing this or the pill in general, she has been on yasmine since august last year and was on it for some time before that.
She was put on lexapro which worked wonders for the depression/anxiety but about a month ago she went down hill and the doc increased her lexapro to30mg which didnt help, she could hardly work, she is a receptionist and could not answer the phones she lost all confidence in herself, she has suffered from nausea, has turned off some food that she always enjoyed , felt lethargic, anxiety attacks, hive like rash on her stomach and back, getting up during the night to wee.
My beautiful daughter is only 17, she has a boyfriend who adores her, yet she had become this exhausted, panicky shell of herself.
A new doctor told us it could be the pill, so she has stopped taking it, the last week has been a complete turn around, she has gone to work all week, seems very happy and confident again, stopped going to the toilet during the night. Could it be from stopping the yasmine? it seems so quick.
She is taking multi B supplements, she had borderline levels of b12.
I'm quite sure that yasmine caused all these problems but there is a slight chance the turn around could be from the increase of lexapro or the vitamins. I'd be interested to hear others thoughts

Hello everyone. I am a 44 year old female who began taking Singulair for my asthma about 6 months ago. At first I would start and then stop taking Singulair after about 1 week due to sore joints. However, Singulair worked wonders for my asthma.
About 3 months ago I decided that if I wanted to breathe without constraints, I would just have to tough it out. Well, after 2 weeks of taking Singulair, I could barely move because every single joint in my body ached horribly. Including my wrists, fingers, ankles and face.
My primary physician prescribed Nabumetone Tab 500mg for me. Although I still have some soreness of the joints, I am better able to bear it with the Nabumetone.
For some reason my inhalers stop working for me so I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. I continue to take the Singulair because I really like being able to breathe well.

My daughter is going to be 6 yrs. old this month. She has been taking Singulair now for almost a month and for the past 2 and a half weeks has woke up with night terrors. She wakes up an hour to an hour and a half after she falls asleep. She wakes up crying and running around the house like crazy and says she is scared. They have lasted up to 10 minutes at times. Very scary !!!! I have been thinking it was stress until tonight, going on a few of these web sites reading the experiences that other parents are going through with their children on Singulair. The drug has worked wonders with my daughter's breathing and stuffiness...... but these night terrors are bad and my daughter could seriously hurt her self if I don't figure out why they are happening. I am going to take her off for a few days and see if the night terrors continue.... I will be back to report the outcome. I hope it is not the Singulair because she is more energetic and breathing better than she has her whole little life. If it is the Singulair, then I hope I will be able to find something else that works just as well without the "night terrors".

My 4-year-old daughter has had a chronic cough that sounds just horrible and was prescribed Singulair about 3 weeks ago for presumed allergies/mild asthma. The drug worked wonders for her allergy symptoms but we noticed about 4 days after starting it that she became very aggressive and not like herself at all. She would fight constantly with her sisters and started pushing, kicking, puching and even biting. This is NOT like her normally!! We wracked our brains for anything that could be causing this dramatic personality change and when I came across this site I realized it could be the Singulair! My doctor's office insists it can't be but there are far too many other parents out there experiencing the same thing with their children. We stopped the medidcation 4 days ago and she is back to her normal self, although her cough has returned and her allergies are bad again. Poor thing.

I have taken Advair 100/50 one puff in the morning for several years. It has worked wonders in alleviating my Asthma. The trouble is I now have developed type II Diabetes. Also I have put on about 30lbs. that I don't seem to be able to loose. I eat about 2000 calories a day and exercise 5-6 times a week. I also have high triglycerides, high cholesterol and fatty liver. After reading the posts in this forum, I am convinced that the Advair is the cause. That being the case I made an appointment with my Allergist on Wednesday. I tell you what he has to say.

I have just begun taking Singulair about three weeks ago. It has worked wonders for me. I am not sucking on Arbuteral every two or three hours. However, I have been having since last week severe stomach problems - lots of pain - like extreme indigestion. Has anyone else gotten stomach problems?

Hi - I was on Singulair for about 6 months due to problems breathing because of allergies. It worked wonders for my breathing but I developed severe leg cramps at times while on it. I am off it now because my allergies don't bother me in the winter but I will ask the doctor if it's safe to keep taking it next summer.

I pity yet envy all of you! On the one hand, I feel so bad for all of you that have such horrible and long lasting side-effects. On the other hand, I'm jealous of most of you because you have other treatment options! I have severe chronic Lyme disease... I'm debilitated-- sick for 2 years and completely out of work for 10 months and going. About a year ago, after trying countless different antibiotic combinations for months, I finally found one that began to make me better-- levaquin, flagyl, and zithromax. It worked wonders, but I had to go off it after just 4 weeks because my gut couldn't contain the yeast build up. The levaquin side effects I had were shooting pains in my penis and sore and seemingly weak intercostal joints (I was constantly sore where my ribs meet my sternum). I know the side effects were from the Levaquin because I had been on zithromax and flagyl-- serperately and together-- without levaquin at different times and never had the side effects. Anyway, luckily, the pain in my penis went away shortly after I discontinued levaquin and, while the rib soreness went away after a few weeks, I still feel like my chest is going to collapse when pressure is put on it. Anyway, it's now a year later and nothing else is getting rid of my Lyme disease, which is so bad that I've decided to start taking Levaquin again along with flagyl and ketek (a new drug similar to but more effective than zithromax). If this combo is still effective for me, I will probably need to be on it for 16-24 weeks to totally kill my infection. I just hope that whatever side effects I get won't be permanent! I was lucky enough to get through four weeks of Levaquin without any real lasting damage (unlike so many of you who got so sick on just a few pills). 4 weeks and 24 weeks, however, may prove to be a completely different story. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thankfully I just got off of this horrible drug. Worked wonders on the hallucinations, but made me to where I couldn't function at work, and I also began sleeping in parking lots, etc., because I became so sleepy and exhausted I felt it unsafe to drive. 2 hours after taking 80 mg at 8am, I was almost always found behind my desk sound asleep. To overcome this falling asleep at work, the doctor had me take 120 mg at night and 40 during the day. The next day after changing the way I took it, I started shaking uncontrollably and sweating. I shook like this for a week until I stopped taking it. The DR said it was anxiety, but I knew better, my head was clear. After I quit taking it I took 3 days to stop shaking completely. Seems like in made my ears ring too, and they're still ringing somewhat.

I had no real problems at all. I felt a little funny the first time I took it (SLIGHTLY nauseated and dizzy), but I ate some food and drank some water and felt much better. I took it for about 4 days and it completely cleared my sinuses - the stuff coming out of my nose went from yellow to clear. I definitely avoided an infection. I would suggest only taking one pill in the morning - that prevents the sleeplessness. I also made sure I drank more water than usual. The bottom line is that it worked wonders, and there are side effects to ALL drugs. Sudafed would keep me up at night - that's why I stop taking it a few hours before going to bed.

I have just went for my 7th Remicade infusion. I didn't even get a third of the way done with it. They had to stop it becuause I started to itch real bad and broke out in hives. I always get severe muscles aches about 2 weeks before my treatment to the point where I can't walk or move. My doctor always puts me on a two week treatment of Prednisone to make the pain go away. I'm hoping that this is the last of the Remicade for me. It worked wonders at the begininng but now my body just doesn't want it anymore. Anyone experiencing anything like this??Please email me! ******

I have read with interest (?) the 'downers' here about Lipitor (Atorvastatin). Most of the posts here are anti Lipitor.
One I read seemed to be ok with it. I have been taking Lipitor 20 mg for 18 months. Sure I have memory loss (I am 62 years of age) ... who doesn't have lapses of memory. Sure I have aching joints ... had that checked out by X-RAY's and it turns out I have arthritis, which I suspected. That's not funny. And sure I have occasional muscle fatigue - that could be due to many things particularly not getting enough exercise which I admit - and that's MY responsibility. And sure there are people who have allergic reactions to many drugs, and to many vitamin and mineral supplements as well - I feel for those people. I am allergic to Penecillin myself.
Many people here might be simply allergic to Lipitor ingredients. Others might have some underlying problem which has been exacerbated by Lipitor - still others may have had those underlying problems for a lot longer than they've been taking Lipitor but it has become easier to blame the Lipitor.
I was particularly concerned at the number of people who have taken themselves off the drug virtually overnight. I have been told and have read many times it can be dangerous to suddenly stop a medication - should be weaned off it. Sudden stopping of a medication can result in liver enzymes going out of kilter and other unwanted, sometimes quite nasty, effects.
As for the drug companies not giving warning - here in Australia anyone can go to their chemist (pharmacist) and have printed out for them, the side effects to any drug.
I think that comes under the Freedom of Information Act.
All I can say in conclusion is - Lipitor has worked wonders for me, and in working those wonders - reducing the bad AND increasing the good Cholesterol, they have taken one worry away from me - that of premature death or severe illness due to high cholesterol. My Doctor advised me (after I had dieted, exercised etc) that she was not surprised those regimens had not worked, and these were her words " a largish person can eat fat drenched food and have low cholesterol all their lives and a slender person who eats well - abstains from fats etc. can have very high cholesterol - No one factor determines it"
Hope you all obtain some form of relief - some way from life threatening high cholesterol. Anne.

I have just realised that some of the things like itchy feet and sometimes getting really irritable and angry which is totally not like me. Paranoid and having funny sensations in my back and chest. Always had vivid dreams. Now I think I know what it is. Singulair.
It worked wonders for my asthma no more puffers. That’s why I keep taking it
The worst thing is which i believe now must be this medication is when sometimes I run out of the stuff and not taken it for a few days. I gets strange pains in my chest and back. Feels like my lungs are being squeezed inside and mild chest pains near my heart. And weird pains in my lower back.
Going to stop taking this stuff as worried about the long term problems.
Thanks for people who have posted in this site
