I started taking Yaz in January or this year, I was on it for 2 months when I called my doctor and said that my appetite changed so much I had practically stopped eating. I couldn't finish a meal and sometimes I'd have the feeling of being really hungry, but then when I sat down to eat, I'd become so nauseated I was afraid I'd get sick right at the table. My doctor then switched me to Yasmin and it was a world of difference. My only side effects would be interrupted sleep (very minimal), periods of tiredness, leg cramps and strangest of all, an increase in sex drive. I can probably right off the side effects as being contributed to my mild case of sleep apnea, working 40+ hours a week and being young and in love. They aren't bothersome enough to stop taking the medication. As like all medicines, its not for everyone. I think the benefits I'm receiving far out weight the small amounts of side effects I do experience, my skin has cleared up, my periods are now regulated and not so severe and best of all.. I'm not pregnant. Hopefully the other women here will find a BCP that suits them and new hopefuls looking for answers wont be too afraid to try Yasmin. Its changed my life for the better... like all medicine, its trail and error, don't rule it out before you try it. Good luck.

I have been on zoloft 50mg for about 8 weeks now. The first and very bothersome side affect is the problem sleeping. After getting to sleep, it is very hard to stay asleep. My nights are full of vivid dreams. I have read this is a normal side affect. The BIGGEST problem I've begun to have is that while sleeping...I guess I am dreaming that my skin is itching because I have woken up many times to the pain of me scratching my skin until I have left deep burning scratches. Last night I had to get up and get a cold wash cloth to put on the skin on the back of my neck from the harsh scratching. This has NEVER happened to me before the zoloft. It has made a world of difference in my depression, and do not want to have to go off of it. Has anyone ever heard of this? Please post if you have....need to know this is a side affect...not just me...

My son is 14yrs. old and has been taking risperdal for almost a year now. It has been a miracle drug for us. He was about to be kicked out of school. His doctor put him on risperdal for anger control and it has made a world of difference in school and home for him. He has no weight gain , no side effects at all except that he can control his moods better.

Prescribed for prostatitis. Age 34. I've been taking 500mG/day for about 4 weeks. Experiencing some standard side effects:

- Some indigestion/bellyache. Improves when I take it with dinner (my biggest meal of the day).

- Some sleeplessness, but I'm not a great sleeper anyway. Hard to say if it's related to the drug.

- Bizarre back, neck, hamstring, and joint pain in the base of my thumbs (!). A lengthy, careful stretching routine in the morning helps a bit (except for the thumbs). I played tennis for a couple hours in week 3 and almost couldn't move my neck for two days. Swimming, along with the stretching, has made a world of difference for the back, neck, and leg stiffness. Nothing so far helps the thumbs though...
