I am 19 years old & I have been on a low dose of Advair for about a year & a half. It has done wonders for me. Weezing is a thing of the past. I forgot how constricting & uncomfortable I used to be. It makes my atheletic hobbies more exciting & less of a burden than before. Taking that first 6 foot sprint was a nightmare & regretful in the long "run". Now I'm vurtually worry free. I still keep an albuterol inhaler close just in case, but rarely use it except for when allergies act up. I know of no side effects thus far.

I'm not sure if these are from Yasmin...it's so hard to tell. And the weirdest thing, is that my problems have been lately--it is currently July and I started Yasmin in December.
GOOD THINGS:
1) birth control, worry free sex lol.
2) slightly bigger boobies
3) no weight gain
4) regular periods.
----------------------------------------------------
Problems as of last few months:
1) i dont get horny much...
2) sometimes it's hard for me to get wet, ESPECIALLY at first, which is probably the cause of the above.
3) occasional weird feeling during sex...not pain, but a mild dull, might be pain kind of thing.
4) didn't really improve acne...
-----------------------------------------------------
The last few days I've had really, really badlower abdominal cramping--not specifically one on side or the other.....anyone else have this (and it's been 6 months after starting pill ).
What the hell1!?!?! anyone having these same problems?
Thank you all so much for sharing....as someone said above, it's so nice to read some of that stuff, and be relieved to see that at least we might know the cause.

I am very relieved to find this web-site. My 7 year old son has been on singulair for approx. 2 months. Coincidentally enough, for the past month and a 1/2, he has been in tears every night plagued with "bad and sad" thoughts, fears and worries that he was going to get "in trouble" for the littlest things. My son has always been a fun, intelligent, light hearted & sensitive soul. My husband & I have set up an appointment with a family therapist & our family Dr as nothing we say or do seems to comfort him. At first this seemed to be only a bed time thing, until this week when his teacher called our home at 8pm because she was concerned about him being on the verge of tears. He is in grade 2 and this teacher also had him in senior kindergarten so she felt that it was very out of character for his "happy go lucky" personality. The next day, I called the allergy Dr. & the pharmacist to inquire about possible anxiety side affects for Singulair. They assured me that this was highly unlikely. I then got on the internet & came across this website. Last night, I took him off Singulair. I hope that this is the answer to make my little guy feel happy & worry-free again. Thanks to all who took the time to post this enlightening info. I will post an update on his progress in a week or two.

It is amazing how many people have experienced tightness in the chest, anxiety, and mood swings with this drug. None of this was mentioned by my doctor when he prescribed doxycyline for my adult acne. And I asked him about all of the side effects, as I was very wary about taking the drug to begin with. Until reading this forum, I thought I was going a little crazy. A generally happy, worry-free person, I experienced anxiety, sleeplessness, tightness in the chest, and trouble breathing. I recently quit taking this medication because I believe it was causing my skin to itch like mad. I already feel better mentally and physically. I will look for another solution for my acne and never again take doxycyline. It is very bad.

I used NuvaRing for about a year and a half before I stopped. At first, I thought it was great. It was discrete and worry free and cheaper then the pill. I also didn't seem to have any side effects. Until a few months later when I started getting headaches. Then sex began to be painful. The pain wasn't too bad at first and I thought maybe I just wasn't sufficiently aroused. I never thought to connect it with the Ring. Gradually, the pain got worse and worse to the point where I had to stop having sex at all. I thought there was something wrong with me and my body. I tried everything, condoms, lubrication, vibrators, anything that might make sex pleasurable, but it was useless. Finally, even touching the area became unbearable. One night my fiancee tried to touch me it felt like glass cutting my vagina. It was awful.

I always used to check the ring before engaging in any kind of sexual activity, just to make sure it was there, as I tend to be a little paranoid. Event though we couldn't have sex I checked the ring anyway, out of habit, and realized it was missing. Fortunately pregnancy was not a concern since I hadn't had sex in months but it was still a shock that it could fall out and I'd never even know. I went online to see what to do if the ring fell out and discovered the pain during intercourse is an UNLISTED side effect of the NuvaRing. I was outraged. I'd spent months thinking there was something wrong with my body and turns out it was the ring! I stopped using it immediately and two months later was able to engage in intercourse with minimal pain. This has been a huge ordeal and I'm glad it's finally ending. If you value your body, DON"T USE NUVARING! It breaks your body and takes all the pleasure out of sex. Also, had I been having sex I could have gotten pregnant without even realizing it. The fact that pain during intercourse is an unlisted side effect is unconscionable and outrageous! Don't support such an irresponsible company!
