It worked for me but as soon as I went off of it I hit a state of complete withdraw and detoxed for 4 days and attempted to commit suicide, it was so bad I don't even remember everything that had happened...so word of advice if you decide to stop taking this get off gradually and take it very slow!

HI, i too have to say i am kind of relieved after reading this website that i am not alone with my experiences of the kenalog injection. I was given kenalog injections to treat hayfever, although i wasn't told the name of the injection. They did help and i probably would of continued this year if it wasn't for the side effects.
I was told that to have one a yr was safe, then just before xmas i noticed a dent on my hip, this started getting larger and looked almost like scare tissue, I too was worried i had some sort of flesh eating disorder. The dent is still there and i will never have that injection again. I also have been experience problems with my hips and pain around my coxis,i am not sure if this too is related to the injection. I was told by my doctor who is very good that the kenalog had eaten my fat tissue causing a dent and that it will get better in time.

My 5 year old son was put on for very mild asthma before xmas. After he returned to school, the teacher noticed he was not listening, difficulty attending, talking nonstop ( normally quiet), and repeating the same questions. At home, we noticed complaints of tummy aches, after 2 weeks very loose stools, irritability, extreme difficulty attending to any task, disorientation, rolling around on the floor, tic disorder; he started flipping his head side to side as if he's checking for something, and poor sleep (3-4 times awakening) esp. w. vivid nightmares, eg. crying because his snowman was melting and dying and dry nasal passages w/ bleeding sometimes. I notified the asthma/allergy doc. that we were going to discontinue. It has been a week now and his stools have formed better, not complaining of tummy aches, but attention/concentration still an issue as are tic movements; also came down w/ sinus infection so perhaps being sick is attenuating these symptoms. I hope he can get back into his zone. We are worried.

First I would like to say thank you to all the posts for filling me in on the side effects of Mirena. I wish I would have read this sooner!! Here's MY short story....II am 34 years old no children and do not want them, I was having problems with birth control for years making me sick. I saw the add on TV for Mirena and though "HEY THIS IS A GOOD OPTION FOR ME" Well....BIG MISTAKE...On Saturday December 22nd I had Mirena inserted. I was told it would take 5 minutes and have no pain at all. A little grossed out by the fact of having to do this while with my period I still went ahead with it. My 5 minute painless insertion turned out to be an excruciating 45 minutes of poking pinching and jamming this piece of plastic into my cervix. The pain was unreal but subsided a few minutes after. I though I was in the clear....OH NO....about a 1/2 hour after the cramping started. I thought my Uterus was being shredded inside me the pain was so bad. I called my OBGYN and he said this may be a result since I had no children. He told me to take Motrin and in a day or so I'd be fine. WELL.....for the past 6 days I have been in so much pain I couldn't stand up. I had horrible bloating, diarrhea, bad headaches & cold sweats in the middle of the night. During the day I was nauseous probably from the pain but who knows. I literally killed my stomach with all the Motrin I was taking. Yesterday after being in pain all week, ruining my xmas and almost my new years, I googled Mirena Side Effects and found this site!! thank you ladies....I immediately called the emergency line for my obgyn got a doctor on call and told her i wanted it OUT NOW. She made me stick it out till this morning 9am. I went in and MY GOD IN HEAVEN the pain of taking it OUT was worse then putting it IN however the pain lasted for only about 3 hours and I'm OK now. My abdomen is still bloated and very tender but I am sure that will go away. I printed all of these side effects and gave a copy to my doctors office and told them that maybe they should read up some more before they put any of their patients through this. My mother was right....it is not natural to put something foreign up into your body and it be healthy. So, to all.... DON'T DO IT!!! its not worth it!!
Happy New Year!!

My main problem with Lisinopril is the coughing. Coughing, coughing. coughing. I will be fine for 2 to 3 hours and then start with this awful cough. People will actually turn away from me if I am out shopping and a cough begins. I presume they believe it is contagious. Sometimes I end up vomiting and I cannot catch my breath. Coughing at night is really a problem because of lack of sleep. Doctors believe my cough is due to allergies because I have post nasal drip. However, none of the medications they have given me stop the coughing. I never had this problem until I began taking Lisinopril. Lisinopril is my first Blood Pressure medication.

Hi
Am based in Uk,and am 47 yrs old.Was prescribed the wonder drug just before xmas 2006 for muscle inflamation.
Boy.............did i experience the worst xmas ever........was on 40mg (8 tablets a day).....besides making me hyper (where normally i can chill out) this drug made me feel i was losing it.I would have constant panic attacks, where at times i needed to get out of where ever i was and go for a long walk (which didn`t help my muscle inflamation).Felt very claustraphopbic.....everything looked dark.Lost sleep and had mood swings so far out of character that far from being the rational business man i once was i became a dithering wreck.Started having problems with my vision after 7 days and found out that the medicine induced glaucoma.
see what i mean by a great xmas!!!!!!!!!
Have been off the Drugs now for 2 weeks but still having problems with the sleep.Eye pressure back to normal and thankfully starting to regain my sanity back.No longer that hyper but still having mild panic attacks and still can not really sit and chill like i used to.My sleeping pattern is probably 3hrs a night so i am hoping that gets back to normal......... with a help of a few beers (before that is stopped)
New doctors wants to put me back on,but on a lower dose.............never.........have to look at alternatives

Levaquin has left me with joint pain in my shoulders, left knee and hips. After a couple of days on the drug, pain developed in my hips. I just thought I was overdoing Xmas. Then the arms and then the knee. This was 10 days later and I finally put two and two together and logged on to the net and found I was not alone. I am taking Motrin now in heavy doses and the pain is now bearable but not gone. Did laundry today., 20 days after going off of the drug and my arms are killing me. I wonder if this will ever get better.

Myhusband has been on this mdeication for 4 weeks now,, He suffers from epilepsy and was on dilantin for almost 2 years. Unfortunately he wasnt able to maintain the correct level for the dilantin to be effective and is now being weaned off of it and onto the Topamax..Myself and my whole family have noticed a significant change in his personality and moodiness, he is always tired and seems to be more depressed then before.. After some of his comments today that he has said to be and reading the postings on here, I will be contacting his neurologist on Tuesday (like I'll be able to get in touch with him on xmas,, NOT) and get him off this and onto something else.. As far as the weight loss, I haven't noticed any difference, he has commented about the tingling in his fingers.

To Guest # 33389,
Thank you for your post. It looks like there are a lot of people who seem to experience the 'ear congestion' problem.
I was given all sorts of decongesting tablets (pseudoephedrine etc...) and nothing worked at all and these medicine gave me nausea and horrible heart palpitations so I decided to do without them. I was never convinced that it was congestion as I did not have a cold or feel like I had.
Once you have been to your RN, please let me know what his/her comments were regarding this. I am scared of flying because of this, as last year I was so sick during a long haul flight that the plane had to do an emergency landing and an ambulance took me to the ER in the nearest hospital. During the flight I experienced terrible nausea/ low heart rate / horrendous headache / strong convulsions / unable to move my limbs and unable to speak, to cut the story short: at the hospital they did all the tests: blood, urine, heart rate, head scan, They could not find anything. I was a healthy person and they could not find any explanations as to why I felt sick.
I did explain to the doctor there that I felt congested in the ears and he said that I could not be as this would have shown on the scan.
Before Yasmin, I never experienced that kind of problems when flying. I am flying again (4 hours flight) over Xmas and I hope I will feel ok. I am sure that this was due to the Yasmin and its side effects. I hope also that this is not related to a heart problem.

I was prescribed Avelox on December 21, 2005 for an ear/sinus infection that would not go away despite taking other antibiotics. I took the Avelox about 9:30pm that night and 20 minutes after taking the first pill the stomach cramps started and I rushed to the bathroom, while on the toilet I started vomiting in the waste basket, then I felt (the only way to describe it is a burning) in the middle of me body and it seemed to start to spread outward. In a few minutes I was drenched in sweat (my hair was dripping wet) and I started to tremble. I made it out of the bathroom and yelled to my husband that we needed to go to the ER. By this time I was starting to have trouble breathing - my throat didn't close or anything - the feeling was in my chest, felt like my lungs wouldn't expand and I was gasping for breath. Instead of calling the Ambulance my husband drove me to the ER which is less than 10 minutes from the house. When I got to the ER all I was able to say was Antibiotic Allergy and they started giving me shots. I lost consciousness (sp?) and when I woke up some 30 minutes later I was having convulsions. The ER Doctor said I was going to be all right but I was a very lucky girl - couple more minutes and I would have died. The gave me massive doses of epinephrene and steriods to conteract the Avelox. They wanted to hospitalize me but it was 4 days before Xmas so I pleaded with them to let me go home so that Christmas wouldn't be ruined for my 3 small children. Almost was a disasterous Xmas, thanks to Avelox. Later learned that Avelox has a high incidence rate of allergic reactions --- Anaphylatic Shock -- So people beware READ the information carefully before taking any medication.

Lisa Here,
just an update went to docs yesterday and my old family doctor has moved to this clinic and i was so relieved to be able to tell him all about this poison. He is going to monitor me for a while with the blood pressure issues and cholestrol, pulse was fast (really) and pressure was up but not as high on lower reading as xmas so guess thats reassuring. He has taken bloods and checking all my level so will get them friday so be sure i will let u all know the results.
He was so shocked by side effects but told me the governments has not put it on its pbs scheme so obviously they are not too sure about it (great huh).
He hopes the pulse rates and blood pressure will drop but said was not sure if this had done permanent damage but from what i can gather most women return to normal levels after a while (am i right). Just finished my period and have no appetite whatsoever and its been 7 days now and am struggling to eat , i noticed Chrissy said something about this , did this settle post yasmin remember only 2mths off for me.
ok any advice will help
Hugs
Lisa

I have been very ill for almost three months now. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out at work - the same time everyday. Chest pain - under my left boob (around my heart area). Went to doctor's just before Xmas, he took my blood pressure and rushed me up to the hospital. Had ECG, Chest X-ray, Blood tests, but all of them came back okay?! Have since has an ultrasound, and am booked in for a 48 hour heart monitor in a few weeks. Off my own back, I stopped taking the pill when they couldn't find anything wrong, and I read the side effects, and this was on the 26th december. The feeling faint has almost totally gone (apart from when I start to panic about feeling faint), but I still have this 'stitch/hunger pain' feeling around my heart area everyday. You feel like it's gone, and then the pain happens. I am scared that it's something serious ( have little faith in doctors anyway). I have had two periods since coming off of it, and yes, they may be heavier, but rather that then feeling like you are going to die. I am not exaggerating. At one point over xmas, I told my boyfriend to call an ambulance because of the hot, numbness in my legs. The second yasmin free period I had, was a week or so ago, and I did feel a bit faint during. When I last saw my doctor, I explained what I had done, and he wouldn't commit himself, he just said that it could be Yasmin. I'm getting married in November, but until I know that I haven't got something seriously wrong, it's hard getting excited. If I have permanent damage from this pill, surely I can sue?

I am just in tears right now... Finally to know what is wrong with me is so overwhelming. I had Mirena put in Oct of 2008 after my son (third child) was born. No other bc had worked for me and I had miscarriages and two other children at age 24 because of this. My doc pushed Mirena like there was no other option on the planet. He raved about it and was VERY quick to just give it to me without discussing any negative side effects. In fact all I heard were positives, I went home AFTER it was in and looked at the official website to see what the side effects may be.
-- By daniellecatt | Reply | (3) replies | Private Message meThe hair loss started almost immediately, which like many others I chalked up to hair loss that you get after having a baby. I had pains all over my body, but I had a fall at the hospital (off a broken toilet seat with my numb epidural legs) but I didn't know why I was just...sore everywhere. Achy just all the time almost similar to when you have a fever but not quite. Then the memory loss began. This I thought was because my son had been born with Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension and had to be put on ECMO. I thought the stress of it all was just causing memory loss and confusion. The fatigue was constant, never ending no matter how much sleep I got. And like I've read by so many others, thought I have 3 kids and I'm a full time student, my husband works 70+ hours a week, I'm just busy and exhausted. The mood swings, anxiety, and just overall feeling of being crazed started around Christmas time (I thought it was the holidays!)
So I began to cut down on SO much. Like my cleaning, I tried to make the simplest meals I could (I DREAD cooking something that used to be a passion of mine) just getting done what my body allowed. And week after week my body let me do less and less.
Today after an entire weekend of ocular migraines and getting 10+ hours sleep every night and feeling like I have gotten less than 2, fighting with my husband because I'm such a wreck and have ZERO sex drive, constant pain, and after my shower this morning looking at my hair just bawling seeing how much I have lost, I just googled all my symptoms.
I'm so thankful I did, I'm so glad I know that this stupid piece of plastic is what is sucking the life out of me! Thats what its like! Its like RAPID aging. A part of me is outraged too. Why does it take us having to do our own research to find this out? This is SERIOUS. This stupid thing has practically cost me my marriage, I can no longer do school work because I can't remember ANYTHING, I can barely take care of my kids, I make it through the day by the skin of my teeth and honestly I was thinking today if I can't live like this anymore. I mean that. If this got any worse...I don't want to think about it. This should definitely be told to anyone considering Mirena. Yes, it may be a miracle for some people, but there is the chance and I don't care how slight, we are living proof that it happens, that it will suck the life out of you and consequently destroy it. I'm changing docs and getting this thing out ASAP.
