Yasim symptoms and conditions

I have been on Yasmin for 2 years and i was recently diagnosed with an eye disease called keratoconus which is loss of vision and cornea problems and Yasmin might have been the cause of it. I also have had excessive weight gain that i can get rid of, depression, sleeping problems, and hair loss. I am concerned because i do not know if it is healthy to just stop taking birth control but i don't want to do more harm to my body.

HI my name is Jennifer, I am 27 years old, I went for my annual check-up on January 9 and I was telling my doctor that I was having headaches and feeling nausea a week before my periods and so she changed me to Loestrin 24 which I hate and yesterday was my last pill Thank God, and so now they switched me to Yaz which I start on Sunday and I am so scared of taking it because I have read so many things about women having horrible side effects such as blood clots in the lungs, acne, weight gain, vision loss and other side effects, I have gotten to the point that I want to call my doc again and get back on ortho tri cyclen but I have not even started Yaz I do not want to seem crazy! Can someone help me cause I am already freaking out and I have not started taking them yet please help!

I just started Yasmin last week. I have been EXTREMELY nauseous ever since day one. I am new to birth control pills and my mother (a nurse) tells me that this is a common side effect of all types of bc pills in the beginning. So, I don't know if these side-effect are specific to Yasim or not. I just know that I started taking bc pills to be less miserable during my period. Now I'm miserable all the time. Arg!

I have been on Yasim for about 1 month. I started it and began gaining weight and quit taking it. After I went back to the OB/GYN she told me that Yasim was one of the best pills on the market so I went back on it not knowing any better. I have been back on it for 1 month and have been experiencing Leg cramping, severe headaches, dizziness, weight gain. I am getting ready to transfer providers I feel that I am not being listened to regarding my systoms being on the pill. Please would someone respond to me?

I am new to this site and thank God I found it. Now I don't feel like I am alone anymore. I have been taking Yasmin for 2 1/2 years now and dealing with this "new self". I stopped taking Yasmin 2 days ago (before I found this site) and last night I woke up to a pool of blood in my bed. I stopped taking Yasim in the middle of the pack because I was having severe headaches and had practically ruled out everything except my birth control. So, once I saw the blood, I was scared - but I assumed it was my 2nd period since I stopped in the middle of the pack. Did anyone have this happen to them when they stopped Yasmin???
My side effects have pretty much been the same as everyone else's - severe headaches, depression, not feeling like I am worth very much, I haven't been able to keep focused, very low sex drive, bitchy, bitchy, bitchy - and I could go on. It has been a terrible 2 1/2 years and I can't believe it has taken me this long to figure out what was wrong with me. I am dumbfounded... But I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel - as long as these symptoms go away.
Has there not been any lawsuits or action with Yasmin to make other women aware of what this can do to them? I am willing to make an effort if someone could lead me in the right direction. Yasmin is scary and has terrible side effects. No one should have to go through what we all have been through.

I am glad I came across this site, I too thought I was going crazy. I recently switched from ortho evra to Yasim. I have been on Yasmin for two weeks, and while I am not half as moody as I was on the patch, i still get headaches and I cannot sleep. I can fall asleep no problem, but wake up shortly with cramps in my legs and an overall restless feeling. I have tried everything, sleep aids, etc. But it is just getting worse. I dont know what I am going to do. I just hope the symptoms subside. If not, I am off.

My name is Jessie, I'm 15 and I've been on Yasim for 3 weeks. The first week I started taking Yasmin my stomach was always hurting and I didn't really want to eat, and the smell of food made me sick too. In the second week, mood swings were kicking and hormones in left and right. Now I'm on my third week and mood swings and my constant emotion changes are driving me and my boyfriend crazy, but I think him more! Please girls if you are not taking Yasmin, but your thinking of getting on birth control, and the doctor trys to put you on Yasmin, just say NO, Because it will screw up your life!

Thank you for starting this website. I thought I was loosing my mind. I have been tracking my side effects for months thinking I had RA, Lupus and/or a thyroid problem. I spent most of Tuesday in the ER due to a migraine that I'd had for a week and a half. Now, normal CTScan, MRI, MRA, and blood tests later, maybe I have found an aswer. Pills are in the trash and my husband has placed an order with theyfit.com. I am 33 and had taken Yasim for the past year after taking tricyclen for 2 years.

My symptoms include:
sever blaoting
weight gain (20 lbs)
tight muscles
joint pain
never ending headaches - now a true migraine
stomach upset
acid reflex
constipation
blurred vision with spots in my line of sight
swelling
tinitus (ringing in my ears)
extreme exhaustion
sever mood swings - particularly PMS related
craving sugar\anxiety and depression

I found a web page regarding homoral deficiencies and my symptoms match up with their checklist. Whatever the synthetic hormone in this stuff is makes us sick! Hopefully, by stopping the pill and letting my body be "normal" for awhile, I will feel "normal" again - 33 not 80!
