Thank you for all of your shares! Has anyone experienced Diarrhea as a result of taking Yasmin 28? I have been on it for 4/5 years. I started taking it because my GYN diagnosed me with endometriosis and my periods were heavy and sooo very painful. So, at first it was a relief; my periods didn't last as long, were not as heavy and the cramps were lessened. HOWEVER, ever since I have been on the Yasmin, I have been certainly very moody, and I have had moderate to severe tummy pains a lot of the time, and spontaneous bowel movements including diarrhea! I have tried every medication from anti-spasmadic meds to anti-anxiety meds to homeopathic remedies and probiotics. I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago but the symptoms grew soooo much worse ever since I started the Yasmin!! After being on Yasmin, it was as if my whole gastro system broke down; I have seeked help & testing from gastroenterologists since I developed ulcers due to h-pylori bacteria, diverticulosis of the intestines, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining)and I even developed a hiatal hernia and have to take prevacid daily ever since I started taking Yasmin! I eat healthy, I am 33 years old, I don't drink or do drugs and I don't smoke. I swear I am beginning to think all of this may have been caused by the Yasmin since none of it was occurring before I started taking the Yasmin 4.5 years ago!? I think I want to get off of it now, but I am afraid to take any other birth control due to suffering from more side effects. Although I do want to have children with my boyfriend when we get married in a few years, I am in fear of getting pregnant now if I get off the Yasmin. I don't even know if the rythym method truly works. Help?!

I started taking Yasmin 28 in june.. after that my life has been turned upside down... i've been having psychological side effects; i'm getting anxious for nothing, and feel very depressed. My humour is rolling up and down like a rollercoaster sometimes. Should I stop taking these pills?
Can somebody recommend another one, which is better?
What about Trionetta?

After reading some of the posts on this board, I felt that I must submit my experience with the Lupron Depot injections. I am 25 and started the Lupron Depot in May 2006. I get the monthly injections and am planned to be on the treatment for 6 months. I just received my 3rd shot 4 days ago. I am very happy at this point that I decided to go on this treatment. My dr. suspects that I have Endometriosis and gave me the option of trying the Lupron Depot or having a laporascopy (spelling?) to diagnos it. I chose the Lupron Depot. The first 3-4 weeks after my initial shot was difficult. The symptoms I was having increased and sometimes hurt so badly that I would stay home or go home from work. I also experienced hot flashes (weren't too bad), night sweats, insomnia and mood swings. However, after the first month (before my second shot), the symptoms started to decrease. Now, I rarely have any pevlic or lower back pain which was a constant before the injections. I do have an occasional hot flash (I've had one in the past month), night sweats, trouble sleeping, slight memory loss, an occassional mood swing, and joint pain. Thse things may sound horrible, but it is so much better than before taking the Lupron. My Dr. had me stay on my continuous birth control (Yasmin 28) and attributes the fact that my Lupron side effects aren't bad to that. I was worried that my libido would decrease to nothing when reading about the side effects Lupron can cause, but I think it's gotten better. Now, I know that I can have intercourse with my husband and it not hurt. Before the Lurpon, I was suffering from depression because of the pain, decreased libido because of how much intercourse hurt, and the pain was unbarable most times. I think deciding to go on the Lupron Depot was one of the best decisions I've made, and I truly think my Dr. for recommending it.

I've been on Yasmin 28 for about a year and a half. I to am experiencing the mood swings and depression (my poor husband!). I've also had a difficult time climaxing (nearly impossible). But what really worries me, is that before I was on Yasmin, my cholestrol and blood pressure where just fine. I was also overweight, but less than I am now. I've gained almost 20 lbs. and my cholestrol has skyrocketed and my Dr. put me on Lipitor 10mg. My blood pressure the last two times I was at the Dr. was 136/90 (6 months ago) and 141/79 (yesterday). I'm only 26!! I exercise daily and eat pretty healthy. Could all of these problems be from the Yasamin??

I had been on Yasmin 28's for about a year and a half. At first everything was great some of my bloating relented and I thought it was the best contraceptive pill on the market, until the mood changes started.
Within a few months I started to experience intense depression. I personally didn't notice it at first until my boyfriend started commenting on how depressed I was. He would ask me what's wrong, and i had no answer. I would be doing such a simple thing like washing the dishes and then the tears would just start to fall. I don't know why I was upset I just was. I have stopped taking Yasmin for about a month now and am starting to feel more like me.
I have also experienced some weight gain. I don't know if the pill is to blame or the depression but either way it was a side effect that I have experienced.

Does anyone notice excessive mucus? I have been going to the doctor since March because of chest congestion. I have taken 3 or 4 different anti-biotics and many alergy medications (nothing helps). Today, it dawned on me... I have also been having very clotty vaginal discharges just about every time I go to the bathroom. There is no oder, no pain, no burning (not an infection). All of this has been occuring since I have started Yasmin 28. Can Yasmin make your body produce excessive mucus?

Depression is the least of the side effects.....it gave me two blood clots in my lungs and I almost died I was only on it for 2 weeks when the symptoms started. The hospital had reported the Yasmin 28 to the FDA as the cause of my blood clots and I followed up with the FDA and found out the hospital did in fact file a report. I was not warned about my age (38) and the consiquence of being over 35 by either the Doctor or the packets of the birth control pills. The FDA confirms that all Yasmin sample packets or prescribed packets need to have warnings on the labels ...mine did not. I was in the hospital for 4 days and was off work for 9 months and after a year later I am still having lung problems. In fact I just went in today and they told me I have lung damage in both of my lungs from the clots. I am only 39 years old and have the rest of my life to be concerned about sore lungs and worry about the weather and if my lungs will hurt that day or not.
For anyone out there....go off Yasmin right away and if your over 35 go off all birth control pills....at least your man will have you alive...I know I should be dead right now.

Have been taking Yasmin 28 for exactly one week, as a 'day 1' starter. This morning it was VERY difficult to get out of bed, and I felt tired all day. I don't know yet if this is just a result of a hard schedule? I couldn't fibihs my exercise routine, either--just felt too weak. I have noticed my skin on my thighs for example seems to be more sensitive--scratch marks are bright red, though these fade momentarily. I felt a bit moody, which I thought was due to being tired. I am generally very keen to changes in my body, so I will keep track of all of any reactions I have to this pill. I don't take any other meds at all, don't take over-the-counter pain killers ever. I noticed an increase in sex drive and a general feeling of easiness, feeling more "feminine" , if you will??? That's all for now.

I took Yasmin 28 for 4 days. I felt nausea, extremely dry mouth, thirstiness, fatigue and at the same time I felt wired. I think the scariest thing was the numbness in my left leg that woke me up at 4:30 in the morning. I also had tingling in my left arm and up the left side of my neck to the base of my skull. I am getting off these things!!

I just started taking Loestrin, and so far it's made me sick to my stomach, cramp and generally feel like I'm on my period.
-- By kjmarshall218 | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI started taking it right after a normal period and so far it's been ok except for the symptoms mentioned above. Surprise surprise, I started what seems to be like my normal period when it's the last two days (mostly brown rust color). I know that it might take a while for the hormones to regulate in my body, but I feel that this shouldn't be happening... Any suggestions? I'm planning to call my doctor tomorrow.
