I am so happy to read all these posts on here. I thought I was completely losing my mind and was the only one feeling this way. I was on Seasonal for awhile and hated it but was soo scared to change for some reason. When I finally decided to tell my doctor that I hated it and wanted to change, he put me on Loestrin. I have been on this for probably a year and a half now. I never get my period which in the beginning, I freaked out about. Every time I go to the doctor, I ask him if this is ok and he says its fine. In the last couple months I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety and depression that are somewhat unexplainable. I am thinking now this must be a side effect of the medicine because I have never been like this in my life. I just celebrated my one year anniversary with my husband and even he has pointed out that I am not myself lately. I am a little nervous to switch though because I have gotten so completely used to not having a period so I don't know what to do! Have a doctors appointment coming up so will probably discuss with him. Other side effects I had from this is just some exaggerated PMS symptoms around the time of my "period" such as moodiness, fatigue and headaches. That stuff is manageable, especially since there is no actual period to deal with. Just nervous about the overall anxiety and depression I feel that I can't explain. Thanks again for posting your stories, it makes me feel like I am not alone!

Hello everyone,

My name is Tina and I am a mother of 5 children and I was diagnosed with a very rare disorder called "VKH" It is a rare eye disorder that only strikes like 1 in 1,000,000,000 people. I was put on Prednisone to help with this condition and to reduce the swelling in my eyes. I was put on 70mg initially and was tapered down to 40mg. then things did not go as well as to be expected and I was bumped back up to 60mg. I am so happy to read these stories but also saddened at the same time. I have been on Prednisone for 5 months and have gained 20 pounds and have the moon face, the acne, the hair growth and the horrible mood swings. My husband and I had our 10 year anniversary last week and I spent it all alone because of my moods.......
It has destroyed my relationships and my self esteem. I don't like leaving the house barely because I hate how I look and I am so depressed I am not the same person as before. I cry all the time because sometimes I wonder if taking this drug is worth it!!! What makes things worse is I wonder if things will ever go back to normal for me or my family again.................

Ive been on Yaz since Oct 07.
--At first it was hell. I always got headaches b/c I have strabismus...but i got migraines. I work in a hospital so that was NOT fun at all.
Trying to do charts and all I saw was a blur, trying not to vomit due to the nausea (i get nausea with headaches), the lack of balance was also very attractive :).
--I also got a vaginal infection- I'm not sure if it was due to the pill, but I've never gotten it before. It went away after I had my period. I thought it was my period but after a while, i knew better.
--Also Ive been depressed, I don know if its due to the fast approaching one year anniversary of my nieces killing, or if that was the pill?

After all that mess is done with, I love the pill. It's just my body getting used to it. Ive never done BC before so this was an experience

I went to my OBGYN yesterday for a 4 month f/u on the pill and she was concerned about weight gain. well i LOST 8 lbs. I didn't expect that ha ha.

But the last month+ I've done really well. no migraines or anything!!! yayyyyy

A few years ago my doctor gave me Zovia birth control. I was on it for about 6 months & skipped my period for 5 of those months. I was nauseous, nearly fainted several times, I would have days where I couldn't eat a bite & then days where I couldn't eat enough! My mood swings were terrible, too. By the 6th month I was so sick I could hardly make it thru college classes. Thankfully, my doctor switched me to a different birth control & I was fine after that- everything went back to normal & I was myself again. I will never, ever, take Zovia again!!!
