I'am only 26 but I have been a insulin dependent diabetic since the age of three. Being a diabetic for so long has made it difficult for my body to maintain normal cholesterol and triglceride levels. (I'am not overweight and I am very active) At 19 I was put on lipitor but it gave me severe stomach pains when I called the doctor they told me "it was just a side effect" and should subside. I wasn't on it for very long when I found out I was expecting and had to stop taking it anyway (can't take statins while your pregnant it can cause severe birth defects) Anyways, after I had my daughter they said my cholesterol was fine and they weren't going to put me back on anything. Yes! Until just recently my doctor discovered that my triglceride and cholesterol levels were so high he had the lab re-draw my blood tests! Odd because I feel perfectly fine. Because of the stomach pains years ago with Lipitor he put me on Simvisatin and Antara. Every since I have been on the Simvastatin my cholesterol levels are perfect but I am soo tired all the time. When ever I tell my doctor he says it's because I am a young mother of three and work full time. But this is a different kind of tired. I seriously could drink a five shot extra strength espresso and fall asleep this isn't normal. All my blood work is fine. It has to be a side effect.

I had two shots of Kenalog 80mg. three months apart for a sinus infection. Both shots were in the upper left buttocks, lower back.I have a huge disfiguring crater where the shots were given.I have noticed it has worsened over time, and wonder if its still growing.I received the first one 2/18/07.I want my tissue back, and cosmetic surgery will cost $4000.00.I'm a young mother living pay day to pay day.I prey that someone will start a class action suit so I/we are able to feel comfortable in my/our skin again.

I'm posting this message b/c I have had years of experience with Mirena and want to share it. My experience has NOT been horrible. I got my first one inserted 4 years ago, had minimal side-effects, then wanted to have another baby. I had it for 2 years before I removed it and a month later was pregnant again. IT DID NOT HURT TO HAVE IT REMOVED!
-- By mommato3 | Reply | (5) replies | Private Message meI had a second one inserted after the birth of my second child and have had minimal side-effects. There are only three things I would like to share that I have considered "annoying" about Mirena. Acne, yeast infections, and my period has not changed or stopped...still 7 days every 4 weeks. And, as I'm reading all of these postings I'm starting to realized that the overwhelming theme here is not just Mirena...its that we're all new mothers. Motherhood brings a whole new world of problems...hair loss, hormonal imbalances, weight gain, lack of sleep, (oh and to the person with the ganglion cyst...could it be from lifting that heavy car seat in and out of your SUV with the same wrist that's bothering you?), abdominal pain from c-sections...or natural birth, depression, anxiety...the list goes on and on. I would only warn some of you that taking out the IUD may not fix all of your problems and with the risk of possibly getting pregnant again, it may actually exacerbate some of the so-called "side effects" by adding another child to your family. Good luck with your decision, but I wouldn't necessarily blame it all on that little IUD.
