Take my advice-get off of that medicine. I also am a teacher (Ph.D.) and have shingles that come on my lower back above the tailbone. The worst symptom that I get is ofcourse the blistering painful itching rash, but burning, razorblade feelings down both legs near the right side of the knees and down those side leg muscles. Fatigue, headache, bad breath, just like a virus. But I take plain 325 mg. Tylenol once daily, drirnk plenty of fluids and juices, apply Zovirax cream only once at night. Not daily several times as directed or you get weird symptoms too from that. No oral continuous meds either like Acyclovor. No thanks. So, tough it out...you will be greatful in the end. Get a lost of rest, the less mental and physcial stress, the least likely you will break out. I usually do 4 times yearly when stressed out from infections or just run down. Best wishes
