I have been taking Advair 500/50 for several years. I never knew it to cause a big belly, but am wondering now if that is why mine seems to be so -- no matter how hard I exercise or diet -- now. I too often wonder if the powder from it sticks to the back of my throat instead of getting into the lungs. Sometimes it seems to work well, other times it doesn't seem to do anything at all.
