My son got acid Refulx Disease due to damage to the valve to the stomach from taking doxycycline. He is a senior in high school and now his doctor has said he will need to take whatever drugs are necessary for the rest of his life to mitigate the effects of acid reflux. The drug cmpanies now have him hooked on one of their drugs the rest of his life.
