Last November (2007) I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In early march I started treatment for the prostate cancer at the Loma Linda Proton treatment facility. Two thirds through the 45 treatments I started having difficulty urinating. Not terrible but slow and restricted. I would not be able to fully empty my bladder.
The docs suggested flowmax. Within one night I was urinating like I was in my early teens (I'm 58). I started to sleep through the night.
I have had lower back pain. I am not sure if the treatment or flowmax or my playing agressive tennis is the source of the pain. It is fairly minor but not normal. Now that my treatments are over I want to return to a normal drug free life. However every time I start to diminish my consumption of flowmax I have a slower stream and have to get up one to two times per night.
