Hello, I too am on Eltroxin and have had severe side effects, such as nightmares, sleeplessness, severe headaches, short-term memory loss, leg cramps, intense itching of my back and scalp, intense pain behind one eye, blurred vision, depression, heart palpitations, and also irregular heartbeat; sometimes extreme fatigue...the list goes on. I have not experienced hair loss, fortunately, but overall, I have found that the side effects of Eltroxin far outweigh the original problem of low thyroid function! My medication was lessened to 50 mcg instead of the usual 100 mcg, as I was beginning to develop the symptoms of HIGH thyroid function, or hyperthyroidism. I'm seriously considering going back onto a herbal remedy, which is what I was taking ten years ago, and felt much better for it.
