I started using Advair approx. 2 months ago in an attempt to get rid of a severe cough that I've had for over 25 years. I've tolerated it for this long, however, the cough has gotten worse as I've gotten older. Although I very carefully rinsed my mouth my mouth out, as advised by my doctor, I developed a sore throat and almost fully lost my voice for almost 1 1/2 months now. The ears, nose and throat doctor has diagnosed me with a bad candida (yeast) infection in my throat and put me on diflucan and nystatin. He felt it was the Advair that caused this infection. After taking these medications for a little over a week I am slowly getting better, however, my cough is still there and possibly a bit worse from the infection and my throat is very raspy. I've also noticed moderate pain in my fingers and hands -- whether this is from the Advair, I am not sure, but it is coincidental to the timeframe I've been on it. However, I have also been on an nebulizer using albuterol so it's hard to tell which medications are causing which side effects.
