I had back surgery sevral years ago & now need another. Then I had a major heart attack & had heart surgery. I live on pain medication for my beck & take a handful of pills daily for my heart. I am only 47 years old. I have had problems sleeping for sometime lately have been very stressed. My Doctor put me on Xanax about 2 months ago. At first I slept & felt well but lately I feel overly emotional. I will cry over anything or nothing & just have this feeling like I'm going to die. I'm wondering if this is a side effect of the Xanax.

I have taken Xanax off and on for 28 years for anxiety and I have never had any negative side effect from it. It helps me to relax...to feel normal.

Yes this is a side effect of Xanax. That is the worst drug ever invented in my opinion. Doctors just put you on this crap and don't tell you anything about the very serious and negative side effects of this drug. I was on this drug for about 2 years and went into severe depression, cried all the time, thought of suicide constantly, and I didn't come out of my room except to eat for over a year. I wouldn't talk to my family, I was very hostile to everyone and missed an entire year of my life. I am very anti Xanax or anti benzodiazapines in general they all are bad and anyone taking them should stop now and never use them again.
