For a year and half my physician had me on 500 mg a day. In november he had me take 1000 mg a day. Within three days my hands and feet swelled to twice their size. My skin on my hands, feet and face felt like they were burning. I also suffered from hives. I stop taking the niaspan and yet six weeks later I still get the above side effects. I know of another three people who suffered similar side effects. Are there others who have had the same experiences and how long did the side effects last. Take care, Mike
