After taking 10mg 3x week (no problems) my doctor asked me to take it daily. I did from 11/1/05 through 12/05/05 and began having neck stiffness/shoulder/arm/elbow/wrists/hand/hip pain so severe that I could not sleep in my bed - could not use my arms. The pain was the worst I have ever had. My primary sent me to a Rheumatologist who said (after 6 vials blood/11 x-rays of hands/shoulders) that I had polymyalgiarheumatica. I had taken Prednisone before (years ago) and it caused me to become greatly agitated. She asked me to try 1-5mg pill for 5 days and then go to 2-5mg pills. Tomorrow is my third dose of 2 pills and thus far I am doing fine. Pain has alleviated somewhat but nothing to write home about. COULD LIPITOR HAVE BROUGHT ON THIS PROBLEM? My gut tells me yes - primary said: "Maybe." What do you say? Thank you. MJG
