I tried Fosamax twice ...... the second try was two months after the first. Each time I developed a choking sensation, knee and back pain. My bite is much different, my kneecaps have drifted laterally and it is difficult to go up and down stairs or get in a pickup truck. I also am experiencing extreme fatigue, racing heart and sweating which has never occurred before. This happened each time by the second week. This time months later the symptoms are still with me. My doctor is clueless. I'm in the process of seeking another doctor. This is the result of taking a total of four tablets.

I've been on weekly Fosamax or Fosamax D for several years. Within the past few months I've experienced increasing heart palpations, tightness in chest and fatigue. Last week the symptoms included shortness of breath and were so bad that I went to the ER to be evaluated for a heart attack. They it didn't appear I had had one, but recommended I see my cardiologist. I began to feel better after about 6 days and then I took Fosamax on the 7th day--and the symptoms returned. I was tested by the cardiologist who told me that everything looked normal and to discontinue the Fosamax because that's probably the cause of my symptoms. One of the cardiology technicians told me that they see "a lot" of women on the anti-osteoporosis medications who are having heart symptoms.
