Feeling like I was choking. I felt like something was blocking my windpipe and it was from swelling in the throat.

My wife has been taken Synthroid for two years. She has experenced coughing and choking in the morning and after she takes one bite of food. The coughing and choking has gotten worst with time. Her recent choking spells has gotten so bad she has trouble breathing. Her family doctor keeps giving her the name and phone numbers of specialist to contact. Three specialist and many tests come up with the same answers "They see nothing wrong". Have you read or heared anything about Synthroid and this problem? Jewel Masters- 770-410-0045

I have read that some people need to take the synthroid with a FULL glass of water, or it does get stuck in the throat and swells up in there, causing choking.
