I am 27 years old and have just recently completed six months of lupron. I had my last shot in January 2006. The treatment was for endometriosis. I had been in pain for over 10 years when I finally had a laporoscopy to diagnose the endo. I also experienced "mild" side effects from the lupron. But, let me state first that I CANNOT take any sort of hormonal birth control because of the estrogen. Everytime I have tried BC I have had mini strokes. During my pregnancy I also had a mini stroke due to the increase in estrogen. While on the lupron, I actually felt better than I have felt in a long time. I had the occassional hot flashes, night sweats, and a lot of weight gain. I gained around 25 pounds in four months. I don't recall any other severe side effects. However, I was also on Elavil (anti-depressant) the entire treatment. So I'm not sure if that helped or not. My problem is that now after being off of lupron, I am having horrible feelings of nausea, dizziness, fatigue and horrible headaches. I went to the doctor today because of an excrutiating headache I have had for three days now. It is a weird headache. It only hurts in one spot on the top right side of my head and hurts when I move my head quickly or move my eyes. The doctor did blood work to check my thyroid and has scheduled a CT scan for next week. Has anyone ever experienced severe side effects after completing lupron? I am wondering if it is the estrogen coming back. Am I better off to be on the lupron? If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please reply.

I have just completed my 6th shot of Lupron. One month after the 6th shot i had a followup visit where my doctor suggested I take Lybrel, the new birth control that stops your period for as long as you take it. I have been on it for 5 days. I started feeling sick to my stomach, having mild to moderate cramps, headaches...this was the first 2 to 3 days after starting Lybrel. At first I didnot think there was a connection. I assumed I had some sort of stomach bug. Then I noticed that I was feeling unstable...crying, angry, unable to eat, talking out loud to myself in the middle of the grocery store. I felt like I was going crazy. i feel like I am losing my mind or stuck in the twilight zone. Lybrel is so new that I couldnt find any infor on it. I have never reacted so badly to a medication so fast...Is it being off the Lupron or being on the Lybrel? I call my MD and she wants to see me ASAP. I hope that they get this undercontrol. I told my MD previously that this why I dont like Birth COntrol PIlls.. They make feel nuttttttssss. Please respond if you have any input or similar actions/reactions.

Slowly going Crazy,
