I started on a 6-day steroid and 14-day bactrim treatment for ear infection. After a week (when the steroid treatment was over) I began to have chills and high fever: my body would start shaking (felt like all my muscles were vibrating) and the fever would start rising; once at about 101.5 - 102F the shaking would go away and I would feel for short periods of time that my skin is burning hot. I was advised by my doctor to complete the 14-day treatment but take ibuprophen regulary to keep the fever down. I haven't finished the treatment yet but I am looking forward to it because I am exhausted by the recurring fever and sleepless nights.
