My 10 year old son has asthma. He has been on everything from oral steriods, zyrtec, advair, nebulizer, and singulair. Oh, and an inhaler on occasion. His asthma has improved and he's down to just the singulair at bedtime. However I have become extremely concerned over his weight gain since age 7. Why don't they tell the doctors that this drug does indeed put on the weight????? My son is very active. It makes me sad to think that he has become son overweight from a drug that I have kept him on so long. Tonight was his last pill!!!!! I will keep you all posted.
