HI,
I am wondering if anyone is willing to try holistic treatments such as reflexology. My niece was 4 months old at christmas (06) and had a hacking cough and just sounded "rattly". After several trips to the doctor they prescribed sinus medicine...to a then 5-6 month old. I am a certified reflexologist and it was in March when I saw her, she still had the cough. I worked on her little feet as long as a 6 month old will be still for (approx 4-5 min on each foot). I did it again the following week when I saw her. The 3rd week, my brother asked me to show him what I was doing because since the first time I worked on her feet, she stopped coughing, stopped the "rattling" and had not taken medicine since. He didn't want to say anything too soon as he thought he may jinx it or it was a coincidence. She is now medicine free, and not coughing or congested. Some dont believe in the health effects of holistic medicine, but an open mind can do wonders. If you do decide to try holistic medicine such as reflexology, be sure to ask questions...how long have you been doing this type of work, are you certified or licensed (whichever your state requires), where did you go to school, etc. You dont want someone who simply read a book and calls themselves a reflexologist. Reflexology normally is at least 300 hour course. Individuals respond different...some are more responsive than others, but it is worth trying. Medications are hard on the body-liver, kidneys so forth. And at such a young age, if they dont need them, why allow a medicine to damage organs your child will need for the rest of their life?
Just my opinion. I am certified in Reflexology, Myotherapy and Massage Therapy and truly believe the combination can help tremendously.
