My daughter whom is 8 years old has been diagnosed with asthma since age 3, she has been on a nebulizer with Pulmicort since then. Well in December of 2005, our Pulmonologist put her on Singulair. In January of 2006 she began losing her hair. We have been to 6 different doctors, she has had a scal culture and a biopsy of her scalp tissue done as well. All tests have some back good. Then our dermatologist tells me yesterday that Singulair can cause itching. So now I am wondering if the itching on her scalp is causing the hair to break and fall off. The top of her head is so thin because the hair has fallen off. Not the root, it is breaking before the root. Do any of you know if this has happened before. My daughter sees a Pediatric Lung Pulmonologist at Children's Hostpital. I really think if this was a side effect from the med, wouldn't he have told us? He did see her balding in Feb. Any ideas would be appreciated... Thanks alot, Rhonda
