I am so glad I found this site!! I am a 52 year old female. I went on Toprol last October prior to surgery because I have a high heart rate. After surgery my doctor requested I continue with the Toprol as he thought it would make me feel better. In less than two months I gained 10 lbs. I contacted my doctor with this news and he was surprised, plus quite sure my weight gain was not due to Toprol. My eating habits had not changed, since January I started exercising daily with a weight loss finally of 5 lbs. Now I consume mostly protein eating two small meals daily. I have kept the 5 lbs. off by practically straving.
