Today is December 1, 2007 and I just took the last of five Levaquins for UTI. Never again. I feel depressed (which came out of nowhere), too nervous, losing weight, a bit lightheaded, unsociable and just want to rest or watch something stupid on TV. I just threw the empty bottle out and I do not ever intend to refill or accept it again. Next time I have a UTI, I will head to my very reputable herbologist (do not go to a plain health store - go see a TRAINED herbologist). I have some aches and am tempted to take Tylenol but I want to observe all the side effects in all its' unglory. I am a female and 57 years old. Orange juice seemed good for particularly excitable attacks. Drinking plain hot water is soothing (no herbal tea) and do NOT drink colas or anything with caffeine. When UTI is active, do not eat sugar (bacteria love it) and avoid all candy and other sweets. Chances are YOU are getting older and your body is asking for better treatment - so if you are hurting yourself through alcohol, smoking, drugs (licit and illicit), bad food, be kind to yourself and change. Get close to God and read the Bible (this is always helpful). You can do it. You will survive. Oh yes, anytime when taking antibiotics, get yourself a bottle of good acidophilus and take a tablet or two on empty stomach an hour before or after medication - this will resupply the good bacteria that the med kills. The acidophilus in yogurt is too low level - forget about it and buy the acidophilus in a refrigerated bottle from your health store (avoid pharmacies and grocery stores like the plague - their version is JUNK). Write me if you want. Thanks, God bless, Merry Christmas Happy birthday Jesus!
