Our doctor prescribed Singulair for our 4 year old as a preventative measure for bronchitis this past Friday (July 7th). That night, she was up every 2 to 3 hours saying that she's scared and that her legs hurt. She has slept through the night since she was 6 weeks old, so this was shocking to us. We just thought that because she was sick she wasn't sleeping well...even though other times she's sick this didn't happen. Saturday, Sunday, Monday went by and each night she woke every few hours...crying and crying. She was dreading bedtime (this was also strange). On Tuesday, I found this site and read all the stories....and many of them were similar to our situation. My wife and I talked about it and we decided to take our daughter back to the doctor on Wednesday to let her know that we'd like her to try an alternative medication because of her reactions to her meds. She listened to her lungs and said just to stop the meds...she sounds ok now. Wednesday night...still woke up....but fewer times. Last night...slept from 8pm to 8am!!! Was in a great mood, no talking about nightmares or achey legs!! Beware of this medication....we will not be using it for our little girl ever again!!! Thanks to eveyone who shared their story.
