I posted a few days ago regarding my never-ending period. Still going, by the way.... I had no idea what was causing my prolonged period, so I called my primary physician. Her nurse called me back and told me that the doctor believes it is due to the kenalog injection. The injection was given to me by my Pulmonary Specialist, who I see for severe asthma. As I was not warned of the possibility of this particular side effect, I phoned the pulmonary specialist and told the nurse that it would be a good idea in the future to inform women of this possible side effect. She spoke with the dr. then called back and told me that the dr. had never heard of such a thing and that I should schedule an appointment with a gynocologist , believing it to be something else. Apparently they researched the problem further and since then both nurses (both doctors are located in the same clinic) spoke with one of the clinic directors. The clinic director called me this morning to THANK me for pointing this out, and told me that the doctors are now in the process of putting together a pamphlet listing ALL known side effects which will be given to every patient prior to a kenalog injection. WHEW! No one should have to be blindsided by the potential horrible side effects of this drug.
