I started taking Sulfamethoxazole for a bladder infection. The 3rd day I experienced joint pain in my legs, the advise nurse told me to continue with the meds, I did. The fifth day I suffered lower back pain, joint pain, and by the evening had a temp of a 101. The advise nurse told me to continue with my meds. The 6th day, I had a fever, nausious, went to my DR, my fever was at 101, abdominal pain, chills;I gave more blood, after 3 hrs of waiting for results, she looked at me and said she didn't know what was wrong with me...she had discussed my symptoms with a disease specialist and said I was probably experiencing drug fever and to stop the meds (2 pills left). When I got home my fever was at 103.5... The next day, my fever had broke, I had a migraine all day, I went back in to give more blood. The 8th day, I woke up which appeared to be a sun burn on my face and ears...which led to little red bumps all over my body. The advise nurse looked at my chart and said she didn't believe this medication would cause this...I told her I was allergic to this medication, she wanted to know why I thought that...
