Lipitor has successfully controlled high cholesterol for about 2 ...

Lipitor has successfully controlled high cholesterol for about 2 years. My recent diagnosis with Mitochondrial myopathy at age 54 leading to surgery for ptosis on both eyes was concluded after a year of various tests with cardiologists, neurologists and optical surgeons. There was no apparent cause and just my bad luck. No-one linked Lipitor with the symptoms experienced but I am now convinced that there is a link and intend to stop Lipitor treatment. I suffer with tendonitis in my thumbs and elbow, have exercise intolerance, extreme tiredness, no libido, muscle aches, heavy head that neck does not support well, very sensitive to bright lights, occasional nosebleeds. Can all this be merely a coincidence - I think not. Happy to discuss further.

Statins are dangerous drugs that cause MANY side effects. The drs. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM on the anti-cholesterol drugs . . .big $$ business . In reality, your mind/body NEEDS cholesterol to function properly. DON'T LET YOUR DR. TO CON YOU.

psoos

all your symptoms sound like side effects of lipitor. you must stop taking it but to be safe, taper off it slowly- cut the pills in half if you have to. give youself 2 wks to get off it entirely.
this stuff could kill you. i love that all those expensive doctors and all those expensive tests and the best they could come up with was "no apparent cause and just my bad luck."
all your problems are well documented side effects of statin medication. the first thing thye should have tried once you started having complaints was to discontinue the statin medication. if your symptoms went away, that would clinch it. imagine the $$ and time that could have been saved!
you say that Lipitor has successfully controlled your high cholesterol but think back a moment to before 2 years ago. how did you feel then? would you have even known that you had high cholesterol without a test? have you felt better in the last 2 years with artificially lowered cholesterol than you felt before?
i think you answered that question
