Bi-polar II: recent diag. after years of chronic depression. on 25 mg for 1 week so far, just weaned off Effexor. Experiencing odd "brain pulses" and "white noise", irritability and ANGER, feeling persecuted. Could be mitigation of physical pain from acute bursitis flare. Hoping side effects will dissipate and I won't be such a bitch.

Coming off of Effexor can be totally AWFUL!!!!
For me, if I missed a dose, I would get those strange electrical charges going off in my brain, and my brain could not keep up with my eyes, when I looked from one side to the other.........IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Tho it worked quite well as a mood stabilizer, I was determined to get off it.
Figured it must be bad to have those kind of effects.
So I tapered myself off VERY VERY VERY slowly. over at least 3 months.
When I got to 1/4 pill daily, and then stopped, I would still take the occasional 1/4 pill to ward off those brain stings.
