Hi, My name is Linda,I was put on Levaquin 750mg. for Bronchitis, I was taking for less than 4 days was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with blood pressure of over 200 and burning on the left side of my body, and kept passing out. Face turned red and the right side had blotches, looked like a rash. I had 7 of these flashing attacks in the hospital. Brain feels like in a fog, am confused and light headed still have been released from the hospital, but still feel this way. I was told it was dehydration, but I know it was the drug. Have never had a problem like this with meds, and in the hospital they hooked me up to other meds including a Z pac, they took blood every 4 hours, gave me steriods plus other meds. and no levaquin so they had to know that was the problem. Blood pressure is fine now, but head does not feel right, I am going to the doctor tomorrow. This drug is a bad thing, someone needs to do something about taking it off the market, before someone losses their life. I was a very secure women with a great job, I feel broken down and confused???????
Levofloxacin, Levaquin & Ciprofloxacin are extremely dangerous drugs, especially when given in IV form undiluted. I came very near death June 2006 and I am still disabled. I wonder if my health will ever return. I have extreme bone, joint, muscle, tendon... pain throughout my body. My eyesight is very poor, my gastro intestinal system and other interanal organs are in pain. My heart now has ilongated Q wave, abnormal EKG. I was 49 when this happened to me, now at 51, I am more like a 70 year old person with arthritus and extreme gastro intestianl issues. My symptoms are too many to mention. My poor husband, he has taken up so much of the slack, I really am disabled but I will not give up, I keep pushing forward hoping and praying this will be over soon.
