My 95 year old mother was given Levaquin 3 weeks ago for a bronchial cough. Seemed to improve, then it came back and she got another prescription. This time, in 24 hrs. her feet swelled up with a needle like rash all over and over the knees and she complained that the balls of her feet hurt so much she couldn't walk, joints ached, etc. Prior to that she had been in increasing discomfort at the assisted living place until I finally brought her to my place. Perhaps the dreams, sweating and discomfort were also symptoms that I did not realize until now. This drug is too strong for the elderly. On top of whatever else they are taking, this should be used far less often. L. Saylor
